Thanks for joining us for another episode of Stranded in Thailand! We loved our time in Kanchanaburi. The waterfalls were definitely our favorite part, so be sure not to miss our waterfall vlog here! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-niDf9XYiEJU.html
What a wonderful and somewhat sobering experience. The festival looked lovely , love the safe points on the bridge and the great views. Another great and informative video.
We agreed! It's nice that they teach the history in a way that people will actually listen and hopefully not repeat the mistakes of the past! Thanks for the comment!
I like the way you explain what you see in the video. Love that translate app. The temple and the surrounding is amazing. The giant tree and waterfalls are so impressive. Thanks for sharing.
Great museum and bridge to learn history closer from WWII. Oh man you really need to learn Thai to understand those signs on the streets. The temple is looking so awesome! There are such nice waterfalls in Thailand, agreed. Really has so much to offer for the visitors!
Wow that train ride was incredible especially since its the most economical way. Absolutely love the beautiful Temple and the restaurant looked great! The bridge was so so so stunning, the history is just so sad! The waterfalls looks absolutely stunning wow!! So relaxing!
In my previous trips in Thailand I did not visit this region because I felt it did not worth it. Your video is therefore relevant because now it convinces me that I should go there. Kendra, you are an excellent narrator, you speak slowly, clearly so it makes it interesting. Your English is easy to understand for everyone. Thank you and keep on !
Thanks so much Jean-Guy! I teach English online so I know the importance of speaking slowly. Kanchanaburi is definitely not as popular as many other cities in Thailand, but it really does have a lot to offer and we are so glad we visited it! It's definitely worth a visit when you get back in Thailand. Kind regard my friend and thanks for watching!
Hi guys! Another great tour day in Thailand. Really liked the storytelling of the history especially about the war museum and about the interesting bridge. Thanks for another lovely tour. The tiger cave temple is soooo beautiful and the landscape are amazing too. Missing Thailand and the tropical weather over here 🤗
I remember going there on my first visit as my grandfather was part of the pows who were forced to build the original bridge a nd the new one is just a replica
This was very interesting. We had a similar history lesson for the world wars with the focus on Canadian, European and American points of view. I agree with David - great to create an attraction so that others can learn more about the past.
Nice! Glad to hear you’re adding Kanchanaburi to your list. It’s definitely worth it! Make sure you reserve a whole day for the waterfalls. They are stunning!
The history of the railway is very sad, but I agree with David, hopefully many will learn from the past. That is interesting that people walk on it, I was glad to see the platforms along the way. The view from the riverside restaurant was so lovely.
I enjoyed your video, interesting history over the bridge. The architecture of the temple is simply fabulous. Great you have a application to read and translate 😂
Wayne does enjoy WW 2 history so would enjoy the Jeath War Museum. Wayne watched the John Wayne movie with the same bridge's name so many times when he was growing up! April has issues with her left knee too, from an old injury. Wow, that monkey pod tree is so awesome! Do you know how old it is? How come you did not go on any of the carnival rides? 😉
The tree was around 100 years old and for whatever reason we just weren't in the mood to ride rides. Seeing the pretty colors and watching people have a good time was enough for us.
I haven't been here for many years, but it is definitely worth visiting. So much to do there. Sadly, most Thai people have no clue about the history behind the bridge and don't know what happened there. What time of year did the fair take place? I'd like to go. Did you checkout Hellfire Pass?
Wow the history of that bridge was both fascinating and heartbreaking at the same time. As David said it’s good that it’s a tourist attraction now so that we can all learn from the past. The staircase to the temple are so colourful and lead up to an even more colourful temple. Loved the huge tree, that was impressive too!
Yes, it's good that they have both the festival and the museum to educate and raise awareness about the history of the bridge. So many people dislike learning about history. This is why we admire the way they skilfully teach it. Thanks for the comment guys! Kind regards!
The views from the bridge are so beautiful! It is good that it is a tourist attraction so that people can learn the darker history behind it. The monkey pod tree is incredible...I don't think I have ever seen a tree that enormous. I love the waterfalls as well. The restaurant on the river front is also amazing...so lovely you can have delicious food and watch all the fireworks!
The best part of coming here is seeing the 6000 immaculately kept common wealth war graves, very humbling and sad but you didnt show or mention them, cant understand why?????
