he recently went on Jimmy Fallon and gave the world a guitar lesson - then he and Jimmy jammed - Mr Richards is doing just fine

Well to be fair he was not playing thing to complex or fast. It has been widely reported that he has handed some of the playing duties off too Ronnie Woods due to some arthritis issues.

If people keep buying tickets to see him , he's not too old.

great, Keith has always been a sort of minimalist guitar player, he's great. and I agree he is gravitating more toward a delta blues sound.

They finally have a functioning rhythm section. Never sounded better than they do right now.

Keith’s fingers have suffered from arthritis which must make picking out fluent solos quite difficult, but his forte has always been playing superb rhythm & riffs, which he still seems able to do. Personally, I think they are too old to keep on keeping on, but it’s up to them when they finally call it a day!

Ya, plus people have been telling them to stop literally since the first day they started, so... I'm pretty sure they're not listening!

I just saw the stones 5/26/24, not too old, by a long shot. Yeah they're 80ish but if you accept that, they still rock! Very, very good for their age. Paul McCartney is still a good show also

I have heard that Keith suffers from arthritis in his hands which makes playing a lot more difficult. Your fingers and wrists can be so painful as you try to make the shapes and you have to adapt your style of playing to something that works but isn't always as smooth as you would like. He did sound good on this clip though so I guess he is coping. Good luck to him. If you stop playing you stop living.

Richard’s was at his absolute peak during the years he and Mick Taylor were weaving their complimentary blues runs together. Never heard two guitarists with such completely different styles sound so incredible together. Only duo that come close is maybe Allen Collin’s and Gary Rossington.

Nice to hear someone appreciate Gary. The time period from Ed leaving until the plane crash Gary owned every song live IMO. Little different take on Keith. I think KR and MJ peaked creatively from 67 -73ish. 99% of guitars recorded on Beggars and Let it Bleed all Keith. I think Mick Taylor played rhythm on Live with Me. And Brian did the slide on love in vain. Keith played bass on many tracks as well. His lead licks and solo on Sympathy (studio version) is one of my favorite of all time. Out of all of the incredibly gifted virtuoso’s I wouldn’t want to hear anything other than what he laid down. It’s perfect! Reminiscent of old Japanese Godzilla movies. As a performer, he peaked from talk is cheap and steel wheels through the voodoo lounge tour. Dominated the stage behind Mick. He really had it down. I haven’t seen anyone like him. OF COURSE I am biased AF.

I don’t think the question should be if Kieth Richards is too old to play, the question should be could he ever play? Yes, but not great.

As iconic as all of the Stones stuff is, I think Keith was on the top of his game when he worked with the Xpensive Winos, then brought that enthusiasm back to the stones.

Keith is a smart guitar player and he knows how to adjust his playing to keep up with his age and he shows how a song is a living thing constantly changing , so if you think he is to old to play or if they are to old to tour then thats your bs opinion

The Rolling Stones had a lot of bluesy sounding tracks, like many British pop bands early were heavily influenced by the southern blues.I recently saw The Rolling Stones perform last week and have to say it was one of their best live performances.I agree, where will most of us be and doing at age 79?
