I loved watching the cartoon back in the 90's, the animation was solid and had great music by Shuki Levy who also did the original Power Ranger music. I loved how each knight's shield had the ability to summon a dragon or a ram, also the main villain Morgana was hawt

I loved this cartoon!! I remember seeing a partial walkthrough in Nintendo Power and wanting to play this so bad. Finally played it on an emulator years later and, yeah, it was no good. Could have been great.

This was Enix's only game developed by an American studio (in fact it was developed by Manley & Associates, which also developed the Ninja Gaiden II DOS PC port and the Wizard of Oz SNES game).

I used to watch the show years ago. It was part of a block known as Amazing Adventures. This was one of my faves from that block. The others were Street Sharks, Mighty Max, Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders & Double Dragon. While I like the show, I doubt I will ever get it and play it.

When I first saw this game at the start of the video, I thought it couldn't be that bad for its time. It looks like a typical 1992 Enix game. It was released in 1995.

I’d never heard of this game and thought I was going to have one of those new old game discovery golden moments. You crushed my dreams with honesty at about the minute mark. Fortunately the good people of the comments section lead me to the cartoon’s theme song. It was worth it.

I remember buying a toy from toys'r'us based on this cartoon after I watched it back when I was a kid. The show was great, never played the game though, don't remember seeing it in rental stores

Cartoon series was gold back in the day. that aside, the game was an unfortunate victim of circumstances. It was based on the 1st season, was terribly rushed (no cooperation on Enix's part as I've heard) and as it turns out, the dev team was left with scraps to work with and just pushed out a piece of programming, not a game. The game was to be "the final episode" of the cartoon series, whilst you play through a few episodes from both season 1 and 2 (as stated before, it was only season 1 in the end result). Apparently the folks that made Star Ocean took inspiration from this idea and created an Anime to which no final episode was made, instead, you play the game to get one of 80+ endings that concludes the anime. Not sure if you've heard of Doom Resurrection on SEGA 32x, which was a complete reworking of the mess of the original release, but I'm hoping someone goes back and fixes this game to what it was supposed to be. There's a lot of games out there that were just horrible, but deserved better. This is certainly one of them.

Hey, this was my favorite saturday morning cartoon as a little kid!.... Okay, maybe second to Sonic SatAM. Even as someone who knew about the show, I had no idea it had a game. Sad that it's apparently not great, though this style of game is usually right up my alley.

It's actually kind of enjoyable to watch a hero perform a heroic act, such as Mr Drunk playing bad games and complaining, to respect the requests. I say give that man a patreonship (if you haven't already) (but don't request shitty games) (or do).

Wow, had no idea this even existed, too bad cause it appeared to have a lot of potential that sadly got dashed by the usual curse of being a licensed tie-in game and probably got rushed to market. Clearly there was intention for a 2-player function and if they could lay out the terrain a bit more id have been more coherent. But alas.

The only other thing that stands out about the game: It does what the series couldn't, finish the storyline (albeit not quite as intuitively as one would WANT but blame ACT and others for forcing shows to compromise, often to their detriment)

It's disappointing to learn that this game is that awful. I remember seeing a preview of it in Nintendo Power years ago and thinking that it looked fun, but then I forgot about it and never ran into it. I remembered it a couple of years back and put it on my backlog. Thanks for this review; now I can remove this from said backlog.

I only got to catch the show a couple of times. It never got onto the more famous Saturday line ups near me. Just a few showings in the early AM on off brand channels. It actually looked pretty cool. The story was batshit, but just as batshit any other cartoon at the time.

Yikes! This is more expensive than Final Fantasy III at my local retro game store. $54.95 as opposed to $50.00... lol wut. BTW, I traded in a bunch of games and DVD's I wasn't greatly fond of and I bought FF III for $20.00. Thanks for all the videos, SnesDrunk!!!

I used to own the game and remember hating the soundtrack. It has the same overreliance on wind instruments as other terrible RPGs like Beyond the Beyond (wouldn't surprise me if it was the same composer) and there's no excitement to make up for the terrible non-linearity.

I remember watching the show as a kid. Like most Saturday morning cartoons from the early to mid 90's, it had dodgy writing and was really just a vehicle to sell toys. I also remember renting and playing this game as a kid. I also also remember that it was terrible and unintuitive.

You can watch this show on Tubi TV this was such an obscure show that was overlooked it had an awesome concept design for the characters was good but the story was a mess in the way they presented it in the cartoon to bad think it could have been slot better show and better remembered if only it better writing and advertisement I was a kid and only watched a couple episodes on this show just recently remembered it go figure but thanks for the reminder of this obscure show

The cartoon is rad, the toys are awesome, ( however limited ) the game... Well. Once you get used to it it's not so bad but oh boy, having to start at the castle after losing a battle and not having a good place or at least some kind of barter system to collect shield power ups is a pain. The music slowdown is also a bit annoying though I absolutely love the music in this game! It's cool for the sake of nostalgia and to see what happens at the end of this canceled cartoon, for this game is the only way to actually see it since the show was never finished, but that's about it. I haven't even beat this thing yet and I'm already like, meh. I'm just playing it for the ending and because I'm a fan. Also, it's King Arthur And The Knights Of freaking Justice!!! Or is it just-ass... Maybe The Nerd should cover this one.

Just a quick update, for there is a bit more I forgot to mention. I noticed when you go to the castle to defeat Warlord Spike and lose and of course start back at the castle, another issue risen. Once you get your ass handed to you due to impatience and frustration of having to go back and forth, you may decide to say, ( the hell with this. I'm playing Zelda instead ) you then turn off the SNES to play a ( better ) game and then want to come back to "pledge fairness to all and vanquish the evil" you realize you can't go back through the secret entrance to the cave that leads to the castle that you were able to before. And, that's when you realize you have to help the old farmer hidden in the forest again. You have to find the spot where the Warlord helmet is to give to the farmer, give the helmet to the farmer, get the cypher book from him, give it to the old man in the cave and then you can journey onward. Yeah, this game definitely could have taken lessons from Zelda and just used a battery backup system to keep the game moving at a more reasonable pace, instead of making you have to repeat progress in order to make progress. AHH!!!
