Mostly agree. We moved east to here. It was very nice several years ago. Quieter but industrious. Massive immigration has changed the landscape. You either like it or not. Not so much for me. It's created diasporas, park is white in the day, its India at night. Apartments get crowded due to families joining after leases settled so ma and pa showup after students get the unit or the other way around. It becomes too many to a unit. Students and many millenials can be off putting lately as socailly inept it seems for some , just common curtosies lost . Folks stop talking as there is no common ground. Some clearly are anti west, yet they are here, and you have no idea whom you talk too as to values. Some personal security needs to be in back of mind as more folks lingering by trails or parks. Some areas have become quite low caliber, It took 2 years to get tents out of a major beautiful park. Traffic is too fast with little enforcement. As for going to TO, good luck at wrong time of day. KW Airport with very limited routes , mostly west so major disappointment given size of area. A taxi to TO 120 $ plus. Housing , its a million 2 plus for new detached. Condo 1 bed 520K, 2 and den apt 3200. You buy a home, best check neighbours as 20 may arrive each weekend and garage party, all of one diaspora. You get an apt , hope it does not become daycare for offshore women and kids as many do not share workforce. How its afforded I do not comprehend. Lots of struggles to be met for sure.

Thank you for sharing your experiences about living in Kitchener-Waterloo. I understand that changes in a community can bring about mixed feelings. Traffic has indeed become more challenging, especially when traveling to the GTA. Regarding the housing prices, they’ve actually adjusted recently and are lower than what you’ve indicated, which might be encouraging for those looking into the area. I’m curious, how have these changes influenced your perspective on living here? If you’re considering making a change due to these challenges, I’d be happy to provide any information or assistance that might help.
