Is Kris Actually DEAD? And Many More Kris Theory's About Deltarune! 

Kris is actually in a coma since the first episode of the anime when ho oh- oh shit wrong franchise

This is the first theory I have heard that explains why kris turns blue, although kris being dead does not seem too plausible it makes me wonder if there is a deeper meaning to the color.

If anything, they seem just kinda complacent most times, during the Snowgrave route they seem to just be hoping there's a REALLY good reason behind everything you've done so far... Hence why you always have the go back option incase you really do have no clue what your doing but won't actually oppose you...

I'd be somewhat silly yet not too far fetched if Kris was a Zombie type monster the entire time... Just incredibly well preserved. That allows them to bleed still and be "made of blood" while also being able to have possession of a Human Soul, yet move around without it.

Toby Fox said in an old tweet something like "im working on something and someone is doing something VERY VERY fimiliar" And he was appearntly talking abt omori, In omori, to start the game, you need to SLEEP to dream and etc. So when i played the game and slept and had the same result, it felt like, MAYBE, Kris is imagining susie and the others being his friend, but there is some differences, like the player controlling him

8:50 small correction. It is not. The town gets named after what you name YOURSELF, not the vessel. so far, nothing you do with the vessel itself gets used anywhere in the game at all yet. Also, yeah, Jevil just always uses uppercase no matter what, I don’t think there’s ever any time where he isn’t, Regardless of whether it is in a battle or not, I’m glad someone finally noticed that. But spamton doesn’t only use lowercase in brackets. His speech after his NEO fight in the neutral route, before he gives you the shadow crystal is almost entirely in lowercase, and never uses any brackets. 11:17 I personally like your voice, but it’s obviously up to you whether you wanna use it or not

I don’t have a strong opinion either way on the TTS thing. If it makes you more comfortable to share more ideas and theories, I can listen to a robot voice. Your real voice is perfectly fine, and it *is* a bit easier to read tone/meaning of speech when it’s with a real human’s inflection, but that’s not a necessity to me

As for your voice, I get it. I hate the sound of my own voice too. But while I can hear you have a bit of a problem... I can list like 3 or 4 Deltarune theory-tubers who all also use tts. 😅 This is refreshing. I say stick with the voice. It's smoother, and if anything, at least sounds like a human being. Ya know what I'm saying? Like, there's something about tts that just makes it hard to listen to. It kind of lives me a headache and is hard to focus on while multitasking. For a good example, I was playing Terraria while listening to this and even though you have a small speech problem I could still actually focus and understand who you are saying. But on the other end, I can't do that with TTS. I can't do something else like play a game and just listen. Because listening to a robot voice with no flow between words is a task I'd have to focus on in it of itself. I much prefer your voice, and I'm a 100% sure you'll naturally get better/more comfortable at/with it as time goes on. 🙂 I'm cheerin' for ya.

Honestly.. I like both of these theories. I think you might be the first to actually say them out loud, but I've had this theory rattling around in my head for a long time now, so I really like it. 👍😊

I think (Geoff/Gaster) summoned us into the game because Kris did some occult craziness to try to break out of being stuck in a time loop. Maybe that's why Kris is willing to do the Weird route..?

super stretch hypothesis. Kris and Dess 'died' at the same time in the incident that shook the town. Noelle was there when it happened. Kris drowned in frozen water, and Dess sunk. But Kris showed up 'perfectly fine' after Noelle was sure they died. thats why shes so unnerved around them and why she still searches for Dess, if Kris made it out, she believes it's possible Dess survived too.

Oh you are 100% correct when it comes to the Vessel, or at least I think so, except the name but I see someone else has pointed that out. We control the Vessel, which in turn controls Kris. I believe that whichever platform/code that allows us to do so (the application itself, aka SURVEY PROGRAM) has some form of importance in lore, but we'll just have to wait and see. Also, it's very possible that Kris themselves is trying to use us (the Vessel AND the player) to do something that they want to do in the end. And I really hope that Kris spites us. I want them getting that autonomy, I want them to completely yeet us out if necessary, block us from accessing the game, which in turn might be a part of the lore and the gameplay itself.

What makes me think he could be a zombie could be the way they are able to LIVE WITHOUT the soul. Although they seem to put us back in there body for a bit the way they move is dead like. BUT what nobody seems to to discuss is that when Kris opened a dark fountain WE WEREN'T in there body. Kris opend the fountain sat on the couch an lifted it uo in the air. But we dont see him put it back. Make me wonder what will happen in beginning of chapter 3. 🧐🧐

iirc ralsei or susie says something like "you're shaking" when you meet up with them on the snowgrave route, so kris does show some reaction. and this is more speculation but when the susie and noelle scene would normally play it doesn't, like kris doesn't want to let you near noelle

Kris does react on the snowgrave route btw! Susie says that they look sick/unsettled when we meet back up with her

A slight correction on the intro/goner maker sequence. You said that the main reason that people think the speaker in the intro is Gaster is because they speak in all capitals, and that's not really true. Yes Gaster speaks in all capitals, but that's far from the only reason we believe it's Gaster. For starters, yes Gaster speaks in all capitals but he also has a very particular manner of speech that we can identify as him. He speaks in all capitals, speaks in slow fragmented sentences in multiple lines, uses very cryptic and scientific language, etc. If you translate Gaster's wingding dialogue from undertale to the voice in the gonermaker sequence, it reads identically. But that's still not all In both UNDERTALE and DELTARUNE, there is a variable in the code called a "typer". And basically, when a "typer" value is set in the code it sets the way a character speaks. How fast their text appears, what sound it makes, what font, etc. Take sans for instance: He has a typer value of 107, whenever the typer variable is set to 107 it will start speaking in comic sans, make the noise sans makes when he talks, the text appears at the speed he talks, etc. So if you're Toby Fox and you want to start writing dialogue for sans, you would set typer = 107 and it'll start writing said text as if sans is saying it. With this, in the code, we can know for sure what character is speaking depending on the typer value assigned to that dialogue. During entry 17 in UNDERTALE, Gaster has a typer value of 666. When typer is set to 666, it speaks in all capitals wingdings font, makes the sound he makes when he's talking, all the aforementioned things. This makes sense because all of the "unused" battle stats in the code are also made up of 6's. His HP is 666666, his ATK is 66666, his DEF is 66666, your gold reward for beating him is -666, and so on. Just like how the mystery man in UNDERTALE requires a fun value of 66. So basically, numbers made up for 6's are a very clear calling card for Gaster, especially his typer value. So with this in mind, if the voice in the intro sequence to DETLARUNE was in fact Gaster, we would expect this speaker to have a typer value of 666. And he does. So in other words, the voice in intro speaks in a manner identical to Gaster and has the exact same typer value as Gaster from UNDERTALE- all while we play create a literal goner like the Gaster followers in UNDERTALE, and a song called "ANOTHER HIM" (Gaster's theme in the files of UNDERTALE was just called "him") plays his leitmotif in an identical manner to the original theme on the exact same chrono trigger piano sound sample as the original Gaster's theme. With all of that, I don't see how we couldn't possibly conclude anything other than it just being Gaster.

No, Kris is not dead. We can see them wrestle control from us in chapter 2 and do things on their own. I feel like literally every media property in existence has its own "they were dead the whole time" camp for whatever reason and the evidence towards them are always super flimsy. The rest of these theories are interesting and well supported, though.
