@@whitemoonkey7013 From the footage he showed it was still well above single digits. It looked perfectly playable to me. Is their a certain spot on one of the tracks where it drops horribly?
I’ll get this for Switch…at some point. Still completely obsessed by Tears of the Kingdom, so no issue waiting for an inevitable eShop sale. Thanks for this great overview and analysis.
I'm going to get the switch version because it looks more like a lego game. Plus it's in handheld. Also could get patched and I don't understand why people say 30 fps is unplayable. It really doesn't matter that much at all 😅
30 fps on Switch, 60 fps on every other console and PC. If you have the choice on which console to get it, why would you get the inferior version? I like my Switch but I wouldn't want to play this on it. 30 fps in racing games just feels horrible.
I got it on switch because it was way cheaper . Pre ordered it for £25 and also with switch you can take it places and home . Also fps doesn't bother me .
I got this for my nephew who only owns a switch but likes forza horizon and Mario kart. It looks like a good combination of both. He’s a preteen though I hope he doesn’t think it’s childish. I’m 45 tho and I want this on console after seeing your review. (Edit: not liking the micro transaction but but he’s a gen Z he’s probably cool with it. But his edition is a cart, they must have changed it since launch.)
I woild argue its best on steamdeck. Handheld and 60fps at the same pricepoint. I own this game on steam, switch, and xbox and its amazing. Mu friends and i like it more than mario kart
The production value of these videos are stellar. Whereeeeeee is the following. I see videos with millions of views that aren’t a fraction of this quality
"Now let's talk about a multiplayer, because multiplayer absolutely shines on Nintendo Switch. More than any other home console..." Crossplay excluded = Shines. Typical Nintendrone fanboy xD
Lol, when it comes to games, capping at 30 is never really a "stylistic choice", that's just the BS publishers spew because they couldn't/didn't want to devote the resources to coax 60 out of a game so they claim it was "stylistic" rather than a managerial/technical decision.
30fps doesn't bother me, just the cross play thing is a issue it doeent have it on the switch, overwatch runs 30fps on the switch and has cross play and I'm fine with it, still top the scorebaords against console, not a problem for me
same thing with Hot Wheels Unleashed, it's a shame that crossplay is not on switch. apex run worse than OW yet i have good times with cross play turned on
No crossplay means there is gameplay differences the devs didn't tell you about in this game you there is 6 racers per race but on other versions its 8
I think in isolation, without the onerous microtransactions and with a more reasonable price...say $40, this wouldn't be such a bad racer, but when compared to the other versions and for the asking price...yeah, most people are going to just keep playing Mario Kart 8 or one of the other racing games on Switch.
If for some reason you don't have a TV the Nintendo Switch version (despite the "terrible" limitations) is the way to go. So yes, in some cases the Switch version of the game is the best version. P.S. 60/30fps, 720p/2-4k for me aren't THAT different, i can play in both modes with no much trubles.
If I wanted to "experience this game in higher resolution" I would just play Forza Horizon 4 on my PC (Lego DLC). So, yeah, I don't care whatsoever. The only reason I got this is that the Switch has literally NO open-world racing games, which I love. Also awaiting TDU on the Switch. Why on the Switch? Cause I want to play it on the go. At home, I can still play every one NFS game, both The Crew games, every Forza Horizon and the old TDUs. And many more.
@@aaron_aj_knight_95 it is a good game, but it's its own type, it's not that open-world racing genre per se. I'm looking for something like Forza Horizon, The Crew, Need for Speed, Test Drive Unlimited etc. and honestly Lego 2K Drive is so far the only one filling that niche. Maybe a bit too cartoony. It'd be better it if was more like FH4 Lego expansion.
Thanks for the great review! I've been trying to decide if I should get it while on sale or wait for a Steam discount and this just sold me on the Switch version. Answered all the questions I was wondering
Why the Hell is this video so long?! I saw two Screenshots an do know that the Switch Version is C R A P. It looks like there is no dynamic lightning or shadows at all. Seems no better than the first Lego Games. We got Witcher 3 on Switch, what CRAP is this?
I’m debating with my self, do I get it on the switch oled or ps5 … I could get it on the switch as I really don’t care about crossplay and the small downgrade in graphics , BUT what I do care about is frame rate, I’m the biggest frame rate snob… I bought Gotham knights and the frame rate was so bad I had to stop playing
