I have viewed many interviews that Dr Alexander has given over the years since his NDE. His voice certainly gives credence to a field so often overlooked and dismissed when I first came upon so many of these ideas over 40 years ago. Thousands of minds now open because he bravely choose this life path. I am very grateful to him and thankful to you Julie for this interview.
And minds that are open have their experiences validated by his story. As each person has these experiences they take time processing them and stories like Dr. Alexander’s make the processing of these experiences go more smoothly. Many people have had experiences such as this one and knowing that you aren’t alone with your experiences is priceless.
This world opened for me in 1974 with Kubler-Ross, On Death and Dying. Then, Raymond Moody’s Life After Life hooked me. Now it is easier to read and get information from the net. Thank God! 🙏🏻❤️🦋
Thank you so much for this fascinating interview. I was following Dr. Eben Alexander from the very beginning and all I want to say is, thanks to souls like his humanity is finally waking up!
I’ve watched Dr Alexander tell this story a few times and each time I find new insights into my own experiences through meditation. I read a great book about evidence of telepathy with our pets. Dogs That Know When Their Owners are Coming Home by biologist Rupert Sheldrake.
I read his first book and loved it. I’ve watched several interviews and enjoyed them. I also enjoyed this interview because I’ve grown quite a bit and my understanding has expanded. BUT I am confused about his comment “there’s no such thing as an individual soul” I understand how we’re all one in that each individual soul makes up one body, just as the innumerable cells in our physical body make up one body. How is it I can communicate with the soul of my deceased mother if there are no individual souls.
I once heard it explained that the collective soul consciousness is like the ocean. From the poet Rumi, You are the drop in the ocean. And you are the entire ocean in a drop. The essence is the same. In other words, fundamentally everything in the universe functions from the same conscious energy. The drop stands for the individual mind. The ocean symbolizes the reality, the nameless formless conscious existence that is one and the same in all forms. When we perceive ourselves as a seperate entity, we experience ourselves as the drop. (quoting Deniz Seyrek)
No need to be confused Barbara. What he means is that there's no me separate from other mes. That we are all interconnected to such a degree that when inflicting pain on others, you get to feel it yourself. In that sense we're all one. However, he repeats several times when describing his spiritual journey that he was a SPECK of AWARENESS witnessing and being given lessons and answers to the most fundamental questions of our existence. So, after your personal death, everything begins to fall away and crumble, starting with your body and your selfish personality and what is left is you as a SPECK of AWARENESS separate from other specks, all bathing in the Ocean of Universal Consciousness that we all share as our true home. I’m 79 years old and I find it amusing that when I was a child I wanted to live forever. Now I’m looking forward to returning home. My mother said my beloved dog is with her, as are all the pets we had growing up. This crazy journey navigating this 3d world has worn me out. I was told by a psychic that I would live well into my 90’s. Sigh 👵🏼😱
@@BarbaraKelley347 Me too, even though I ve just turned 53. Exactly the same situation - when you are a child you want to live forever, then it turns upside down after we cross the middle of life(?) You want to go home! I guess it makes sense, and I think that's why it feels so tragic when a child or an adolescent dies and more or less acceptable and bearable and even desirable when you grow old.

NDE's are across all cultures and belief systems. Essentially they're visions of the subconscious mind, one of the faculties in the soul which is responsible for our memories, habits, impressions, instincts etc. You fall into a state of soul consciousness, (the soul never dies, its eternal) they're like dreams or visions. They will be different for each person according to their cultural belief systems. The reason for this, is what's lurking in their subconscious mind. I have interviewed many NDE's, some have conversations with Krishna or Vishnu and others with Christ or the Virgin Mary, some see light or past family members...the list is long. The soul is genderless, endless, religious-less, culture-less, nameless when it's separate from the body. Mind, Intellect, Subconscious are the only constants. When the soul truly departs the body, all memories of that past birth are finished along with the relationships. The soul enters a womb and a new chapter begins according to the karmic accounts of that soul.
How or what explains when those who have a NDE, some have a choice to "come back", and Dr said he chose due to not leaving his 10 yr old...what creates the event of choosing??
An amazing NDE account. I would offer that there is a physical argument to suggest man has a form of "spirit energy" separate from his biological/machine body (native to this world) and that this "spirit energy" is foreign to this physical world. We, among the approx 1-2 million other species, are the only ones who have the ability to form complex rational thoughts, act with free will, contemplate the nature of the world around us as well as our own mortality. We create/build buildings, cars, computers, planes, ......... yet no other species does the same. We are literally a one in a million chance. Statistically there should be other species who have similar abilities but there are none. This is very improbable. All other species are governed and bound by the rules of nature except us. We have the unique ability to alter the natural world and in so doing have had a net negative impact on it. No other species has the ability to threaten the very environment that sustains them. Despite living in the most technologically/medically advanced moment in time we have so altered our food supply from the natural state necessary for proper biological health that we have unprecedented levels of cancer, heart disease, autoimmune........... No other species in nature struggles with these issues. They know what to eat, when and how much without discussion or debate. We humans study nutrition for years to get a PhD and then go on to argue with other PhD's as to what humans should eat. We are so foreign to this place that we do not know instinctively what to feed our native biologies. This suggests that while our physical biology is native to this world and must obey natural law for proper health, riding within it is a conscious energy construct that is foreign to the body and to this world. @@natalierichter2637 When my grandmother died the first time, she also reported “Nothing.” When she finally died, she didn’t return (obviously), but she experienced reunification with deceased relatives and named them one by one with such palpable glee before falling back onto her hospital bed and slipping into death. This, of course, doesn’t “prove” anything, including, of course, that there’s “something” after we die. But it is consistent with many pre-death experiences, and neuroscientists have no compelling explanation for it (though god knows many have made the attempt). My question about my grandmother’s experience of “nothing” is, how did she KNOW “she” was experiencing “nothing” or “nothingness?” It’s possible that, just like when a person is under anesthesia, there is no sense of being at all. Perhaps this is what happens when we die. But this is not the way she describe the experience of “nothing” or “nothingness.” How would you describe your own experience? Even if it was an experience of “being under anesthesia,” it’s possible that what you were experiencing was what Buddhists describe as “dreamless sleep,” which is indicative of the slowest brainwave state known as “Delta.” It’s also possible that, eventually, some experience of consciousness would have returned. If we are going to say that consciousness is generated exclusively by the brain/physiological processes, then we really do have to say that everyone who has had a near-death experience- or even an out-of-body experience- is either (a) lying or (b) being deceived by some kind of neurological process that was still occurring despite, in the case of the near-death experience, being declared brain dead or entirely physically dead. The first explanation seems highly implausible, and the second one is entirely impossible.
Dr Alexander has the gift of being able to put things to beautiful clear terms. I’ve checked out sacred acoustics and found it to be very interesting. I’m just starting now. I have to wonder if this form of therapy would benefit our pets as well?
Please could you tell me if someone who is dying of dementia can they be trapped between this world and heaven. I have an aunt in this state. She comes to me in dreams and asks me if we can have a cup of tea together sometime. I really believe that she is between worlds.
That is a very interesting question. My sense is that our soul or higher self better understands all aspects of our life, including your aunt and her state. She could be on the road to making her transition in her most exciting and peaceful way...which looks like coming to you in dreams and moving to the next dimension of reality. When I was 8 yrs old I had a nde and I’ll make this short I came back into my small body with 2 circles on my palms and I could see some of the future you see my real farther frank passed away at age 33 he was a very well known saxophone player he once played on the Johnny Carson show as a guest player with the doc sev band and my mom was a concert pianist and jazz singer like I but Iam retired now and play my music at home 🏠 I told my mom in the future she would meet a man and he would be a builder of homes and she would end up marry him and I then mention to her when she meets him he will have a left injured thumb and well it all came true I even drew a picture of the home that he would build this picture is in a frame in my home showing the name of the man that built the home this home was a beautiful English tutor home in the country I could tell you more about my trip to heaven but it would just take much to long so any one that reads this just know that heaven or for real. @@JulieReisler Dear: Doctor I can’t remember if I mentioned that I had to diagnose my self 4 times and well I was 100 percent right because I was given this gift of insite all doctors just couldn’t understand this and the last time I was hospitalized in a nursing home I was so weak I had to use a wheelchair and when 4 nurses came in to check on me one nurse noticed as they came all to pray for me they just looked at the 2 circles on my palms and they turned beat red we all just kept praying and I was told that they have never witnessed such a miracle in front of them and one nurse I met prayed with me and she told me about the pain in her back and that it just disappeared I told her her faith healed her through Jesus Christ. When you die for keeps, the "real" you the soul either ends up in Hell or Heaven.
