I do agree about the rest of the vid, the God's could of ended this a long time ago, but the can't or won't. Probably due to some prime rules about not killing each other or that there must always be balance etc. Looking forward to the next episode and where this goes. Your vids are really helping, the episode 99 was really convoluted. You made it make sense.

I think you're right, cause I've thought about this constantly while actively watching the episodes as they air. Keeping in mind that all we are seeing, is a vision that Ludinus is showing the Hells. We are seeing what they are being shown by him and how that relates to him hating the Gods. The moment that hit it for me personally, was Ashely as the Everlight, in the hospital with that arch mage. I think one of the Betrayers says it perfectly. "Oh, your gonna fix the kid just to drop the city on him. Good idea." I think hes definitely trying to point out the "hypocrisy" of the Prime Dieties. But also forgetting that I think the Gods have nowhere else to go too. Thier home was destroyed in the first episode and I think that was shown for a reason. I dunno, just my thoughts. ❤

as far as we know the thalamus is showing the memory of the mortal vessels of the gods, we do know that ludinus didnt fully watched because he heard a fight and went there (BH vs Dominox) so now he's showing them that but, supposedly, he's also watching it enterily for the first time. im guessing he wanted to know where the blueprints for the factorum malleus where
@morganer5378
@morganer5378 Месяц назад
I think Ludinus is right, but he made one mistake that will doom him. The death of Orym's husband and stepfather. Orym is the reel leader of BH and no PC will go againt him. Orym is the only one who was directly harm by Ludinus's plan at his core. The two others characters affected by Ludinus are Fearne and Imogen, but for Fearn Zathuda and her parents are more to blame. For Imogen, Liliana left her way before meeting Ludinus. No mather what he sows BH about Aeor, they will never join him because of Orym.

I think it is a long, long shot, but what if that boy that Trist saved was Ludinus? He is saved, maybe they take them from the city before the fall, but when the city falls his mother is killed and it becomes personal to him. The gods healed him just to take his entire world away and then leave the world like none of it even mattered. "They are just play things," Even if that boy is not Ludinus he could, say how everything was taken from him too just like that boy.

13:46 I feel called out. Whilst I don't think they would ever join him I do think they need a strong reason for not siding with him. And Ludinus needs a strong reason to be anti-god more than what Downfall is showing. Ludinus isn't a convincing villain because he has no reason for going against the gods, in previous campaigns some villains (not all of them) had motivations which could be understood even if they are twisted. E.g. Dahlilah did out of love. Humanoid villains with strong motivations which can be understood but questioned are the most interesting, but Ludinus isn't convincing. I could come up with reason after reason that Ludinus could say or do to get any member to side with his goals, whether they are truthful or false - even Orymn.
@karlstoker04
@karlstoker04 Месяц назад
So far I love downfall, but why is Ludinus showing this really... the prime deities are being good people and betrayers are being evil. Overall, aome points can be made from downfall but it seems that the Prime's don't want to destroy Aeor only the Betrayer's do. In e99 the Prime's made it clear that they wish to preserve Aeor if possible, only the Raven Queen agreed with the notion of destruction. In the other campaigns they have built upon the deities being more complicated than good and bad, but this feels black and white. Even C3 has had stronger reasons to question the gods with their commanding their followers to join a war to destory something they kept secret. So far downfall isn't doing a stellar iob at showing off why Ludinus wants to destroy the gods, which doesn't make him a convincing villain.

@@karlstoker04 I was saying it and as I was our conversation popped back up in my mind definitely wasn’t intentional I do think some members would’ve possibly changed sides before fcg died now that fcg is gone by Ludinus’ lieutenant they will likely never change sides to him the only one I could see is laudna and mostly due to Delilah briarwood

not all villains have to be compelling or convincing, they just need to think they're absolutely right and therefore go to the extreme to accoplish their goals... which ludinus has been doing for the last millenia

@karlstoker04 Месяц назад
@@hadesblackplays They don't have to be if you are fine with a lack luster final boss. Othan was great antagonist but now she wasn't final boss level, she died and so has any interest in her and her story. In CR the most standout villains have had some motivation beyond destruction, and those which wanted pure destruction tend to be monsters not humanoids: 》Delilah/Sylas did for love, 》Raishan wanted to be cured, 》Vencna wanted to truly be immortal, 》Lucien wanted power to protect those he cared about, These reasons are simple but understandable - who wishes to be loveless, ill, dead, vulnerable. Sure most aren't really fulfilling this but who is talking about Vedmire, Saundor, Algar. Sure some standout villains have had no motivation but they haven't been the biggest threats in the end game, Kevdak was great when they fought him but he isn't as significant when they are fighting a newly ascended god. There is a reason why Delilah keeps returning throughout the campaigns, and a reason why Lucien had a book written about them.
