As a collector since 2005. Not an expert but I will say MACERATION is real. Mostly when dealing with EDPs and dupes from UA.. The fastest way to maceration is GET YOUR BOTTLE. SPRAY IT OUT ABOUT 10 PUMPS ATLEAST. TAKE THE TOP OFF AND PUT IT SOMEWHERE WITHOUT ALOT OF LIGHT AND NOT A WARM PLACE .LEAVE IT OFF FOR ATLEAST 2 WEEKS TO A MONTH. SURE YOU CAN STILL USE IT. BUT THE MORE YOU LET IT ALONE THE QUICKER IT CHANGES UP FOR YOU. BEEN DOING IT THIS WAY FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW. I WOULDN'T TO MUZ WORRY ABOUT DOING IT TO A DESIGNER EDT. NO NEED... THANK ME LATER. 😬💯
As you spray and age your frag, “maceration” supposedly adds oxygen to the molecules of the oils/alcohol, helping them better blend together to become one. Which is said to help the fragrance and performance. Seems to work, sometimes better with some bottles than others. Cigars and wine can age and get better the same way…
Maceration is real bro. My new bottle of side effect wasn’t lasting long or projecting, nobody was smelling it on me after 3 hours unless their nose was buried in my neck. I let it sit for 4 months, came back and it was lasting 10 plus hours and heavily projecting. I sprayed it on at 9pm and got a compliment on it at 6 or 7 am the next morning from people down the hall🔥 Maceration is real.
Hold up, you sprayed it at 9pm and people smelled it at 6am or 7am, you ain't washin ya ass lol. Nah, but seriously though, I had the same thing happen with my Side Effect and Naxos I got 2 months ago, they needed the maceration process to come alive.💯
@@BTScents bro I just got a sample of bois imperial by essential Parfums, it’s crazy. Got compliments all day at work this week and people asking me what I was wearing everyday from just two sprays. Get your nose on that g
Maceration is definitely a thing, it's simple science and is a DIY because companies are greedy producing bottles and shipping them out right away without them doing the process. Spray 5 times or just spray to wear it and then put it back in its box or a dark cool place for 2 weeks minimum. My suggestion is 1 month and above for noticeable changes towards a stronger smell, performance as well as juice color in most cases. If you buy a tester, majority of Testers are primed or sprayed by the manufacture for the maceration process to occur making it perform better, giving the customer the best 1st impression for better sales. FYI, don't shake your cologne to introduce more air in the bottle thinking it will help the maceration process because this could potentially break down chemicals/notes ruining your cologne smell beyond repair.💯💨
LAST THING. DONT LISTEN TO REVIEWS THAT HAVE JUST PURCHASED A FRAGRANCE AND GIVING THERE OPINION IF RHEY HAVEN'T LET THE JUICE MACERATE. BECAUSE IT WONT BE THE FINAL VERDICT OF WHAT THE JUICE REALLY IS ..💯
I had the same experience with Rasasi Hawas. The first month is was just weak and I was questioning why it got so much hype. Around the 3 month and 4 month…jowwww. It became so strong and smelled richer, better longevity, silage and projection.
I had exactly same experience with black panther. I didn't like it for the first week and absolutely no compliments. I put it away and wore something else for a couple months, just sprayed alexandria fragrances black panther after sitting for months... it has changed so much. Deeper darker and still fruity af! But now I get compliments every time I wear it. And I don't care about compliments, I wear fragrances for myself, but not gonna lie, compliments are a confidence booster for sure.
Got my first Montagne fragrance in (Percival), and you definitely need to let those sit for a little. They make those to order, and mail them out right away. Most stuff in stores are left to mature for a month or two, before they go on sale.
Nah most definitely. I just got a sample of layton about a month ago, i was like hell nah, smelled like vapor rub 👎🏾. But now i see exactly what the hype is about lol😂 about to order a full bottle
some do for sure and some dont. It depends on the fragrance. Ive had my Versace pour home since 2014 and it just got better over time but something like Chanel Allure Home Sport smells great from the beginning.
I do think it is a thing, though to a certain extent. I bought a ‘fresh batch’ of Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme back in 2020. Used up the bottle in 3 months due to horrible longevity. However fast forward to me picking up a 2nd bottle (tester bottle that is 4 months old) and it seems that the fragrance smells much better and lasts somewhat longer. Of course there is that limit were some old batches will weaken at some given time due to excessive age
Maceration is a real thing for all fragrances (imo). Most/all got better, but only 1 of mine with maceration got worst🤪. When oxygen first get in the bottle, it does something to the molecules. If i remember right, i think they bind to eachother better (molecules) & thats why projection & longevity gets better. Its take a lot/decent of time for all of them to do it.
Maceration is a real thing, is it 100% no not all the time but most colognes and clones get better over time. I have like 40 different fragrances not counting decants so i have some skin in the game
It annoys me these entitled children that blame reviewers when they make the decision to buy a fragrance and they don't get whatever they were expecting. GROW UP! Do your research... sample... get to know notes by wearing other fragrances. There's skin chemistry factors, climate in the area you live. Geez! Grow up and stop blaming reviewers for your decisions. They're not putting a gun to your head and forcing you. . . . Rant aside... I finally gave into the hype and purchase Maahir Legacy. I am not impressed, it's very synthetic on my skin. (And I am not blaming reviewers). Ironically, I sprayed it on a coworker and it smelled great coming off his skin... but it's just not doing it for me. Now reviewers have said that ML gets better with maceration. So I'm hoping for that. Wearing it for this week, then gonna put it aside for a couple months
100% real. So many of my fragrances changed and got stronger after a month or 2. My club de nuit experience was just like yours. Shit performance and just lemon at first spray. I came back to it 2 months later and it was incredibly strong and developed.
I have to say that it is true ONLY with Middle Eastern fragrances. My Afnans smell better after letting them sit. But with American, British, and French fragrances..... I have designer, and cheapies like Banana Republic Black Walnut.... Been sitting on my drawer for YEARS..... They smell the same, or weaker.
It’s not MACERTAION. Maceration is done before the fragrance leave the warehouse to get sold. What you are talking about is called MATURATION. Maturation happens when you get a new bottle, you spray it to allow air to get into the bottle to break down the molecules….then you store it away for a month or two….then you come back to it, and the fragrance change. Also, maturation takes months and years….. fragrance don’t age in weeks
