Yeah it doesn’t save screenshots or anything. Just use per app. Kinda weird they said that it was like recall, since it doesn’t even have the same purpose to the user.

Have been the mobile OSs been tried/checked by the channel? I'm kind of new to the channel. And as far as I know, both Android and iOS are even worse than Windows when it comes to privacy.

@@chri-k Testing Android (as in AOSP) is definitely possible. You could install Android X86 or BlissOS in a VM and work with that. That said, these two are ofc niche flavors of Android and probably not representative of what normal mobile devices are doing. Looking at device-specific Android versions is significantly more difficult - though it might be possible if you can somehow install custom certs on these devices (I don’t know, I don’t have one. My only "mobile device", if you wanna call it that, is an old Lenovo tablet that I installed BlissOS on.). In that case, you could probably do exactly the same thing as in the video except using a physical device instead of a VM. I kinda doubt you could do anything like that with an iOS device (again, Idk, I don’t own any).

Exactly, i don't know what was that remark. the only thing it does is read the OS processes and gather how long you're focusing on each app (and for safari, it does per-website tracking)

I moved to mac as a lifetime windows user and i only regret the non-upgradable/repairable hardware. Although the hardware itself is great quality from my experience.

Unfortunately I would doubt he would ever do this as MacOS occasionally sends a Session ID to Apple to see if the device has been locked with find my or has been remotely signed Out, and with that ID you can sign into the account

I agree, from this video I see macOS as this. It's slightly less invasive than windows 11 but still spys on you BUT the exception is they actually allow you to turn it off unlike microsoft.

The short answer is (even if you want to pirate) NEVER INSTALL RANDOM ISOS. I might make such a video, but those isos are riddled with stuff you don't want and do not contain anything helpful.

I wouldn't recommend buying an ARM system (mac or otherwise) unless you want to run the builtin OS. Asahi is decent, but there just isn't much desktop linux software (unless you wanted to compile from source and not use anything proprietary) for it so far. M series CPUs are good on macOS.

iOS bypass some vpn traffic

1. There are multiple ways of using it. The way I am using it (as far as I know) is not bypassed. If you use the same device system proxy settings, that can be bypassed easily, with wireguard, I don't think such a user hostile thing would happen (could cause very serious problems for people in some countries). When I tested packet sniffing (which is network level) against a VPN on iOS, there were no packets that didn't go through the VPN.

​@@EricParker If you find the RSS reader story, let me know - I'm interested. I also don't fully trust local packet inspection when it comes to this. For some exciting and never-done-before content, you could do a fundraiser for a (used) TLS/SSL decryption appliance, put it between the computer and the switch, and compare what it sees to what MITM Proxy sees. You'd also need to install a root cert on the computer, so some software may not work due to certificate pinning, for those, we'll never know, but most won't mind, and at least it can't be bypassed.

I do plan on making a basic intro to linux video where I will cover distros. Debian and Arch are diametric opposites, Debian is very out of date (unless you run SID, which isn't tested that well), Arch is bleeding edge. I would guess a large performance variance is due to power settings, or drivers. Ubuntu is good for it's popularity (a lot of software compiled against it), and LTS releases are stable. Fedora is a point version bleeding edge distro.

@@EricParker I tend to use Debian stable with backported kernel packages. Debian is making progress. I am on 6.7.12+bpo-amd64 and Nvidia 535.183.01. I like the older Nvidia packages because newer ones did not seem to work on my RTX 3060 on Arch. Flatpak still allows a lot of cool packages on both.
