Marc Jacobs might not be at the top of the pyramid with the brands related to luxury but it is indeed luxurious. Marc is a visionary and what he's brought to this world will live forever in fashion history
Marc is an icon. LV would be nothing today if not for him. Solid design, decent pricing, excellent quality. Far better than most of the 'luxury' world.
working in luxury retail, it’s considered luxury but a contemporary luxury, due to its more affordable pricing, it’s on trend, and most importantly it’s accessible and attainable.
Another thing about him is he appeals to an indie Crowd and aesthetic. Especially the way he used to look. There was a time where he was a household name amongst luxury Titans. He was the Designer at times as well.
@@lolab6770nevertheless, subjective. One would give bridesmaids the higher end Daisy items in the big tote as a wedding weekend thank you gift, but if the groom, to me as his bride, gave me a Daisy candle as a wedding gift, hold the phone. Hopefully you can get yourself tangled out of that hot mess before consummation.
The Tote Bag is affordable and definitely worth it as an iconic piece that you don't need to be precious with. Also if they're still available, his Boyfriend, white cotton shirts.
When I was young I would go to the better department stores. They would keep the designer bag in glass cases. Marc Jacobs was my favorite. Latter in life when I could do more than look his beautiful luxury bags were gone. One of those beauties is in The Devil Wears Prada movie. The tote now isn’t like the old days.
Marc is an icon! The KiKi boots are a wishlist item for my closet with collector pieces for when i do styling & styling for photoshoots Also when he did the LV logo on denim? What he did for LV working with other artists was groundbreaking back then & opend the door for the fashion of today ✌🏻🌺
@@bLAH829 It's 70s slang for "awesome." I believe it was made popular from the show Good Times, but as that was "before my time," I can't be 100% sure.
At least the pieces I own feel luxurious. They still look amazing after years of use, the leather feels soft. My favorite is definitely the Lil Ukita bag.
Luxury is for me great looking pieces, great craftsmanship and what buyers think when they own it. The prices are good but not overpriced like bottega. The totes are the best thing ever!
I think his resume gives him a status in the fashion industry that shouldn't be pushed aside. The industry is starting shift and it will be interesting to see how it plays out. Extreme luxury and expense often become unpopular when the economy is in a bad spot. The designers and brands need to be able to read their customers and potential customers to determine what is the best direction. Some of the factors that I think will play a role in success for some brands will be the economy, environmental awareness, and value of the product(am I really getting something worth $$$$) He is versatile and has was fired for going out of the box...let's see what he has up his sleeves👍
Yes. It's accessible luxury. To people just following trends or knowing what's popular, it is. I also feel the brand competes with higher end in terms of creativity and luxe factor. It's just a young brand.
I love Marc Jacobs.❤ Have some of his bags and love them. Also LV wouldn't be what it is today without his vision. Also love that his bags, like Coach, don't break my budget haha
I think it is important to mention the runway show where he had models walking with dreadlocks. However, there were no Black model hired for the show. Many called him out for Cultural Appropriation. That had an impact on how many saw him and his brand.
Michael Kors, Coach, Kate Spade are sort of lower end luxury. Though, I consider them sort of the work horses of the luxury world. They're the pieces you pull from for every day wear.
Marc Jacobs definently was a luxury brand even in 2009-2010 era they had upscale stores in New York that had high a low pieces like the “jacobs line” selling next to $1000 sweaters. I know though I think they’re bringing back their Stam Bag this year
Knowing him makes me feel very happy because being in his atmosphere makes him Luxury to me I miss his store on Bleeker street in the west village it was great for gifts etc My only hope is that he’s happy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Marc jacobs is a designer brand!!! I'm so glad he opened that new brand. Luxury ready to wear without the ridiculous price tag. Fyi, lvmh did not knock. His fairy godmother, Anna Wintour, was trying to influence Bernard Renault by hiring American designers for his brands where narciso designed for loewe, Marc for louis, Michael kors for celine. His first collection for louis did not have good reviews in france but of course, Anna and her posse would create a buzz as if his first collection was a success. The grunge collection tells you what hia beliefs are in design.
I have the J shoulder bag and I can't tell you how much I love it. The quality of the leather and the attention to detail is impeccable. It's so classy but trendy with its neutral colour's. Don't know why people don't buy more of his handbags
Marc Jacobs, Kenneth Cole, and Steve Madden--- the pieces are attainable and worth getting for their fresh fashion forward flair, and these allow me to update my look and still be myself. Fashion used to be about people living their lives and others vying to cop their style. Now they are walking portfolios and billboards.
Marc Jacobs is my absolute favourite perfume, Daisy, totally no,1, however I was gifted a cross over bag 6 years ago and use it every day...love it ❤❤❤❤
No. It’s like Coach. Elevated Contemporary, but def NOT luxury. Luxury is for brands like LV, Gucci and Dior, etc. Ultra Lux is Hermes, VCA, Chanel, etc. Accessible isn’t luxury. SNS.
I’m sorry but this is crap. A price tag does not always reflect luxury. Quality does. Coach has amazing leather products that’s can be extremely exclusive. Yes they have tons of basic stuff just like all the brands but they also do exotic skins, higher end designs and limited numbers. Literally every single one of those brands you listed besides Hermes I can go and get anytime and most have a website and are not at all exclusive. Just because Gucci princetowns are not exclusive does not mean they are not luxury they are high end well made shoes that last the test of time and that’s what luxury is.
Louis Vuitton and Gucci isn’t accessible? It’s marketed at the higher end of the same targeted consumer audience as Coach and MJ to encourage said audience to feel affluent. If you can afford a 700$ tote bag from MJ or a 1200$ rogue from Coach then you can afford a 1300$ LV….
Marc is a cute icon, a living legend( see what he did for the LV brand).Marc Jacobs is luxury, just affordable luxury and that’s why we love him. His brand is currently on the same tier as Coach.
This is a difficult one : 20 years ago it was my DREAM to own a Marc Jacobs dress. The problem is the man has put out absolute top but also absolute CRAP collections. He's also lost a lot of his edginess, which I was hoping he'd put in his own brand, but he doesn't. Yet the man hass undeniable talent. Still looking for 1 of his vintagw pieces...🤷😁
I love Marc always have his elevated pieces are a feat technically he puts himself out there with no shame and he’s done it the hard way work work work and probably knows his history of fashion and not just clothes but print , furniture , fabrics , social norms more than anyone else besides Galliano and Karl he doesn’t care if he’s LUXURY because he breathes it
Man those totes i have three and people go crazy over them . I get alot of compliments, the black canvas tote is def everyone's fav. Now I will say the only problem is of u use any type of whitening products or tint products you will stain your bag or accidentally bleach it a little. But they are very sturdy and fit everything and come in so many sizes and colors
