IS MKLEO OR SPARGO THE BEST PLAYER NOW? 

Spargo needs to beat Leo at like 5 more majors for this to even be a discussion. Any top player can beat another top player, but not every top player Is consistently getting to grands like Leo.

It's obvious that Leo will always have best player potential in him. It probably just gets boring doing it the same way over and over again

@@rmlgaming2091 yep. Gets bored of the game so he stops playing a lot, then gets tired of losing and starts grinding and winning tournaments again.

And on top of that he has won more tournaments with different characters and no one has been able to do that but him.

It's not phases where people think he isn't the best anymore. It's just times where he isn't the best. The best player has changed before and will change again.

If you can _choose_ to be the best, with consistent results, you're the best, even if you're not putting up the results.

as someone who played smash 4, i despise all cloud aerials. maybe id feel differently if i actually had skipped smash 4.

Well I haven't seen any Aegis win a single big major since last patch. Every Aegis in grand final get destroyed. Last week in 九龍 Shuton's Aegis get destroyed by Miya, then he drop Aegis return to Olimar, and he become chanpion. Is Aegis cursed?

@@ninedays1024 Aegis has some very bad flaws that got overlooked by many. Pyra's slow attacks, mythras lack of safe on shield moves and not very active hitboxes, pyras slow mobility and mythra's bad airdrift. Their recovery and some other things but these are probably the largest ones. I never understood the hype for aegis honestly. If any character is cursed though its shulk and Kome.

its a strong sword character. Leo plays sword chars. He just has to get used to them. theyre actually a hard char contrary to what the scrubs think and dont have a free recovery like byleth. mkleo also had the surprise factor on all his other chars cuz no one was playing them. Everyone plays aegis so he cant surprise ppl for quick results. hes just gotta grind them out

Maybe if you only look at three months of result he has a case. Even then though didn’t he place 8th at genesis?

@@christophercrane2323 7th. But every other contender for number 1 has an equal or worse result. Spargo with 13th at summit, Tweek with 7th at genesis and Leo with 9th at collision and summit.

It’s probably because of Joker’s hitboxes vs low-profile characters. Joker has to work so much harder and be so much more precise with execution because low-profile exists. Not saying that Kirby is a bad matchup for joker or anything, because no. But it still requires more effort and precision than fighting a normal character.

Even his Corrin brought him much higher success in much shorter time, yet he dropped her immediately 💀.

Currently, I'd say sparg0 is above mkleo and all, this set partially proved it. But mkleo has been playing really bad lately and sparg0 was playing a bit above average tbh but I don't think he took number 1 from Leo bc I don't think leo has number 1 if we're just looking at it as of currently bc acola or tweek are also definitely above leo rn since he's playing bad lol. Funny how sparg0 spent all this time at number 2 trying to beat leo and now that he is doing so, there's now two guys he's still gotta beat instead lol

What about Sonix? Also, I love Riddles, but because of his (less than before but still remaining) inconsistency, I would place him at 7 or maybe even 8.

@Mr. JJ This is nonsense. あcola is the only Steve in the world whose results haven't declined in the last six months, and he's the only Steve who's winning in Top 8 of majors. Miya, who's probably #5 in the world at this time, was only able to take one game off Shuton in Kowloon 5 grands with his Steve. Statistically, あcola carries Steve, not the other way around, even if Steve is the best fighter. Players have finally figured out the MU, so the carried Steves have fallen into irrelevance. Besides, Steve doesn't magically grant the player the ability to read the opponent and consistently parry or spotdodge otherwise safe moves. あcola parried MkLeo repeatedly, and his Game 3 3-stock ended with a parry -> up smash that would've killed with a number of other characters. He spotdodged Tweek's down smashes and parried his bairs because he's just that good. Anybody who seriously calls あcola carried is either ignorant or in denial. I suggest you watch his sets and pay attention to how he plays. Game 5 あcola is what Game 4 Leo used to be. The kid learns so quickly that it's almost unfair, hence his absurd Game 5 win rate. He's also even younger than Sparg0, so he likely has even more room to grow. EDIT: Just to be clear, disagreeing with my opinion that あcola is #1 is perfectly fine; calling him carried is nothing less than foolish. If somebody makes an argument for Tweek, Leo, Sparg0, Hungrybox, or Quandale Dinglelingleton being the best, more power to them. It is my opinion that あcola could focus his efforts on Pythra and Kazuya and still be #1.

Yeah. The skill gap at the very top is pretty narrow now. And that’s a good thing for the competitive scene. There’s no one player I’d consider to be head and shoulders better than the rest. The best one of them isn’t so much stronger than everyone else that it’s shocking if they lose to second place.

Nah. Aegis is relatively very tame in comparison to Fox and her strengths are still behind Cloud and other “complete” characters. It’s not like Sheik in Melee and Smash 4.

At the start of leo-byleth era, when he was dominating. literally everyone is saying byleth is broken like he's Steve. I hated that mentality, cause it invalidates leo's work in putting hours practicing the character and taking it in tournaments.
