More: www.hiddensecre... Is money the root of all evil? In answer to that question, I had originally intended to set a world record for the 'World's Shortest Article' and simply write 'NO!', then add the video, and post it to the interweb. But that would be far too lazy, and this is far too important. Plus there's a great story behind this weeks post, so allow me to set the scene: Let's start by imagining you are in our main office...
Welcome to our weekly company meeting. Like most businesses, each week we have a scheduled time where staff from all departments meet and report on what they achieved during the past week, as well as what will be happening in the near future. For us, this happens every Friday afternoon. It's the only time during the week when the phones are predictably quieter, a handy result of being located on the West Coast and marching to the tune of an East Coast market close. It's nice to catch up with everybody, sometimes we have several laptops out with team members Skyping in from all corners of the globe. There will usually be a birthday or two to celebrate-- so it's also a fantastic excuse to eat some cake and chocolate dipped strawberries if that's your kind of thing. It certainly does the trick for me!
At these weekly meetings our CEO, Mike Maloney, usually reads something to the team. It could be a current news item, or something that he has been working on for his new book. But most often, it will be a short snippet of wisdom from something Mike has found to be inspirational (A book called 'The Traveller's Gift' makes regular appearances -- Mike insists that our HR people hand out a copy to each new employee). It's always fun, and Mike gets a buzz from it because just 15 years ago, he would not have been capable of reading anything to any audience. If you've seen Episode 3 of Hidden Secrets Of Money you'll already know that Mike is dyslexic, but has managed to pretty much overcome the hurdle thanks to modern technology. He still practices what he is going to read a few times beforehand to become familiar with the piece, but there's no need to. He now reads better than most folks. Folks where I'm from, anyway!
Recently, Mike mentioned to me that he was going to read a section from his favorite book of all time - Ayn Rand's 'Atlas Shrugged'. Whoa. This was obviously not going to be a normal company meeting. Having just started to scrape the surface of explaining the dangers of socialism in Episode 5 of Hidden Secrets Of Money, it was obvious that this reading would make for an excellent video. It's also very timely when you consider the current events in Crimea, where Ayn Rand lived as a young girl. Yet another example of history echoing through the ages.
So, as that guy said in 'American Pie', God bless the internet. Here it is for you to watch at your leisure, grab yourself a chair and get comfy. There are so many great quotes from Ayn Rand in here that it can be a little overwhelming -- it really is a Tour De Force of logic and reason. Please watch it a couple of times, take it all in, and then here is a challenge for you: Pick your favorite lines, and add them to the comments below. Let's see which sections resonate the most.
I hope you enjoy being in our our company meeting. The vibe isn't usually this heavy, I promise. In fact, straight after Mike's reading we got stuck into the strawberries and sang Happy Birthday to him. More importantly however, we closed out the meeting as we do every week by reading our mission together, out loud:
To enlighten the world that maximum prosperity can only be achieved through individual freedom, free markets, and sound money.
Thank you all for your continued support of Hidden Secrets Of Money, and for helping us to accomplish our mission on a larger scale each day. Episodes 6, 7, 8 and 9 are all in the works and will be released in the coming months. If you watch this video closely you might spot some footage from these next episodes...
As always, all we ask for in return is that you share this video far and wide. This is a message that needs to be heard.
Man, I need a strawberry.
Dan Rubock

Exactly. Once you understand, and can place those words in context, once can understand it for what it is: A love of mankind, and the relevance of understanding the choice is between human flourishing and happiness, or evil, manipulation and needless death supported in the mistaken name of the virtue of sacrifice - human sacrifice.

I learned of all of this evil back in 2013. I took the red pill, and Mike was one of the experts that taught this and more, back. Today is March 2020 for me. But back then, I used to go to a supermarket and see (with my eyes) shelves that are empty of food and essentials, people fighting for them, and looting, and I used to cry. Walking in Walmart, isle after isle, and look at the people, not the food, and think "Is this what is going to happen to these poor people? They will be destroyed even more that they were in 2008." Mike and others taught me and showed the future and the taught what I need to do to try to protect my family. Still, we see this horror today. Still more of what we know of slavery, killing, and destruction, are going to take place. What else could a man do but shed tears, coming out forcefully no matter how hard he tries to collect oneself.

Many channels on YT as well, books, seminars on these topics. Reports, books, and people talking about the elites plans. They helped me understand the crash of 2008, the financial system, money and currency, sound money, investing, financial literacy, the reset, what was coming, and I see what I learnt back then unfolding right in front of my eyes. All the preppers channels were absolutely correct, and I benefited from their knowledge and advice as well, as much as possible.

Divine Eternal Maze Hello Divine, I strongly suggest you watch our series 'Hidden Secrets Of Money' to help understand this. A personal wealth limit would actually increase banker puppeteering as they sought ways to overcome it, and it would also have the side effect of bringing all progress in all fields on earth to a drastic halt. What would be the incentive for folks to excel? Good luck with the series, enjoy.

Divine Eternal Maze Money is a real value, and it doesn't make anyone do anything. Its dishonest pursuit is meant to be illegal in a free market. Its honest pursuit is a pursuit of virtue, and as such not only helps one to find purpose in life but is itself a large part of that purpose: production. There is no limit to the spiritual rewards of productivity, and to use violence to impose a limit on its material rewards would be arbitrary and not at all justified.

Mike, I've never seen someone so emotional over the concept of money and its applications. That in itself is a travesty (that so few care or understand). Money allows our productivity to flow. It has lead to massive prosperity but in these days is demonized. It's crushing. Thanks for reading this to us. It's a welcome and refreshing reminder that some people still understand its importance.

ChiefClickClack. I agree but how much better if he were Christian. The real Church are the unknowns who are well known by God for being kind and not condemning are their words toward those who need Salvation but those who were left to give the instructions to the Bible are the same ones who had him crucified, the known Churches, for it said: He being God lent the house out to those which were the keepers of the house and after a long while came back and he called them to himself to give an account. Those in these last hours buried the good word of the book and would not enter themselves but oh how they Loved the praises of man and thats their reward and they would not allow any to enter into the house least they themselves be corrected, Jesus knew thats why even when the theif was on the cross he only had to ask Jesus to please remember him when he went back to the Father and Jesus said : this very hour you will be with me in Paradise, now tell me was he baptized with water being a theif? I think not though we are commanded to be baptized . God bless you my neighbor. PEACE.

The reference is basically biblical and it is not said in Christianity that "money" is the root of all evil, but the "Love" of money. You are right as is Rand that to love something is to understand its nature, and in the Biblical reference, there are 6 or 7 words for love. (1 Timothy 6:9, 10) 9 However, those who are determined to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and many senseless and hurtful desires, which plunge men into destruction and ruin. 10 For the love of money is a root of all sorts of injurious things, and by reaching out for this love some have been led astray from the faith and have stabbed themselves all over with many pains. The Greek word used is (Storge (στοργή storgē) a synonym for and in context "coveted after--lusted after. " this is an attitude with is in contradiction to "love" that define familiarity of something;(Philia (φιλία philía) an affectionate regard, of dispassionate virtuous love. The love used in this passage is not a "good" kind of love. Unfortunately most languages do not distinguish with clarity what the word love is specifically representing therefore we have a serious misconception in the liberal mindset of what a "good" and "bad" love of money is, and they often ignore it is not the "money" but the bad form of love of money that is the root of all evil. This also comes to the 7 deadly sins. Greed, Lust and Envy being three of them represented in the "bad" form of love being used in this passage. Further looking at Greed, there are different forms of Greed not all of which are bad. Again peoples lack ignorance of the English language often spurs them onto arguments that are not applicable when talking about money, and is Wealth evil or not. I put it to you that in the "Christian" context Extreme wealth is not bad or good. In fact Job not only was the "wealthiest" of all the oriental, but after he passed hit tribulation, God bestowed on him 7 times more than what he had. This in itself indicates that within the framework of Christianity Wealth is not a bad thing. It is our personal attitude toward it that is good or bad.

Money is a tool, it is emotionless, it doesn't hate you but it also doesn't care about you. At the end of the video Mike was getting emotional about a speech on money - emotion clouds the mind and decieves intuition when it comes to markets! When silver was almost $50 there was a lot of emotional videos and even crying about silver! Now it is below $22 again, and another crying video on silver comes out! I don't like this at all!!!
@Goldsilver
@Goldsilver 10 лет назад
Hi, I think if you ask Mike about what he was getting emotional about - it would have more to do with the path that this once great country is on, and frustration with the lack of understanding of why things are headed in the direction that they are. You may need to watch and read the speech again. This is bigger than 'a crying video on silver'. Assumptions can also cloud the mind.

***** Dan, I think that Ayn Rand's passage on money is one of the most brilliant and insightful passages about wealth. But I have watched countless hours in the last few years about precious metals. When a channel does a video that involves crying there is a correlation (not necessarily causation) that people taking their advice will also be crying soon!

***** Dan thanks for the quick response! When I first opened my channel Mike Maloney opened my eyes to the benefits of precious metals. From there I expanded my knowledge by finding people who make a living in the silver market. Mike makes a living by selling silver, he is very good at that and I trust him 100% with service and quality of silver. But to understand the silver market I started seeking out people who make a living in silver other than bullion dealers. What they say about silver is not always the same as what Mike says! Mike is a fascinating person, he said he hires traders, but what he posts in his videos often contradicts what the people he says he hires would say about silver.

the "love" of money is the root of all evil, why that's always taken out of context I have yet to understand
@wraithwrecker_
@wraithwrecker_ 8 лет назад
+Al, Orange Park, FL Just to add to that: Mike, you should probably look at the KIND of love that verse is referring to. To really get the most out of what the Bible means, you need to look back at the original language. For instance, in Greek, there are 4 different KINDS of love and each of them is distinctly set apart from the others. Back to this verse though, it is the love of money for its own sake, idolatry, that is really what's being alluded to here. Money is an excellent tool and can be used for good or evil. Those who use it properly can do well, those who worship it are materialists and idolaters, putting money in the place of God. Anyone who says money is evil is obviously very wrong. Money is inanimate, so that'd be like saying a gun is responsible for the death of whoever it shot at, or that a knife should be punished for stabbing someone. In other words, it's nonsensical to say that money itself is evil. But the adoration and worship of money, which is something entirely different to the recognition that money is a powerful tool in the hands of the responsible, is what is really being condemned. Jesus put it another way: you cannot serve both God and money. You CAN do great things with money, things that would please God. But pursuing money for its own sake is materialism and idolatry, which is to blaspheme God.
@wraithwrecker_
@wraithwrecker_ 8 лет назад
***** That's actually completely untrue. You need to do some research before just assuming the modern translations aren't accurate. In fact, the similarities between any two strange copies (copies whose making/writing had nothing to do with each other and whose locations and time periods aren't coordinated) are over 98%. Meanwhile the closest second to that is the Iliad by Homer, with an unimpressive 60% of agreement between strange copies. No other document of an ancient text even comes close the modern Bible's accuracy and agreement. Remarkably the Bible has changed almost not at all throughout history, aside from the additions. And if you include those, the Bible still remains totally consistent in its message, even though 40 different authors wrote it. That's unheard of. Just ask any scholar who studies this type of stuff. The Bible is one of the most reliable historical documents out there. You should look it up.

Mike, I've read Atlas Shrugged cover to cover, i've even bought both movies, the third one coming out this year. It took me som time to understand what was happening but as i got deeper into the book i began to see what was happening in our country and what ann was writing about so clearly. I actually read passages to my wife and asked her who i was referring to and without hesitation she said OBAMA. I appreciate your care and concern and emotional need to share your knowledge with the vast majoity of us that understand the greatness this country once was.

Having gold and silver as money might not be enough to steer us away from this road to serfdom, because so many hard questions have been left undiscussed or mentioned too rarely. Mike rightfully states time and again that honest money is the only way to true prosperity, but my question is this: what is this 'true prosperity'? Before I go into that, I must ask another question: what is the ultimate goal in most of our lives? I would venture a wild guess and say: happiness. But then what is happiness? I suppose there are as many definitions of happiness as there are people, but some common ground can be found. The first thing is to not confuse happiness with satisfaction. Satisfaction is the feeling you get when your certain need or wish is fulfilled. Let us suppose you are a typical average Joe and you set a goal of getting a new car. You have to sacrifice some of your happiness, when you work towards this goal, because you are not able 'live to the fullest'. You do not exactly 'love' your work, so you must endure all kinds of different stress. When you ultimately reach your goal and get the new car, you become satisfied. The question then is: how long do you stay satisfied before you start craving for something else, say a nice vacation? Does the satisfied feeling last long enough to compensate all the stress and lack of happiness? Usually the cycle tends to start all over again the moment you reach your satisfaction, because satisfaction is not a lasting feeling. Few people stay satisfied longer than just a few moments before obsessing themselves with new goals, even though they might have worked for months or even years to achieve the previous goal. Work commences again, another satisfaction is ultimately reached, and a yet another goal is set. This way we keep on working for more and more satisfaction, that only lasts a passing moment, while we waste so much precious time and opportunity to be genuinely happy. So why are we not happy when we reach our goals? Because with goals we can only achieve satisfaction, not happiness. The main difference between satisfaction and happiness is this: satisfaction comes from outside yourself, while happiness comes from within. You can only be happy if you are able to accept the moment you live in just as it is, not how you think it should be. If you do not accept your current moment, you map out what you want to be different, set goals and go to work. This kind of pursuit of satisfaction is endless, because you only reach goals to make new goals. Pursuing happiness through honest acceptance does not mean giving up on all goals and going to live in a monastery. It does not mean that we should give up our businesses or occupations and all the wonders of the modern world. Quite the contrary; we should keep around us all that makes the accepting of our circumstances easier, but we should always keep on considering: "Am I trying to achieve a satisfaction or enable real happiness?" Pursuing happiness means that we should consider this question: "What makes me happy?" It is remarkable how few people actually ever ask themselves this. We all make 'assumptions' of what it is that makes us happy, but who actually dares to ask himself the question and listen to the answer that comes from deep within? I believe many would receive an answer like: "What makes me happy is being with my loved ones". If ventured further, they might discover that the key word is 'being'. Does it make you happier to play with your child in a 5-star resort than just in your own backyard? It might make you more satisfied, but the happiness comes from being with your child, despite your circumstances. No matter where you are, just holding his hand can make you happy, if you can stay with him on that very moment. Then you would see that happiness comes from within, not from without, and only when you can accept the moment as it is. When we are drawn into the rat-race of our modern world, we tend to forget the big questions of life. We explain to ourselves: "Although I am not that happy all the time, I must have at some point considered this to be the life that suits me best." The truth is, we just rush from goal to goal and never stop to ask 'why'. We assume everything we are, and we do not question our values and reasons. Are we who we truly are, or are we just influenced to become something else? If we considered true happiness to be our goal, we would work very differently than we now do. We would work less, yet experience more. We would find tremendous wealth in what we have, instead of living 'if-then' -life that is just an endless pursuit of false destinations. We would stop looking for happiness, and we would find it all around us. If I could accept myself as who I am, not as how I think I should be, I would close in on happiness. Happiness either is or is not; there is no in-between. You know it when you have it, so if you are unsure, you do not have it. When you have your loved ones around you and you become happy, positive things that happen around you bring you joy. Honest joy comes to you only when you are happy, and most often around people you love. This is why accepting yourself and those around you may be the only road to true happiness and joy. And this is finally where prosperity comes to play. To me, prosperity means the amount of happiness I have reached in my life. Providing and receiving goods and services are an important part of prosperity, but ultimately all activity is just a means to an end. We want to 'be' happy on this very moment, not become it later on. The final product we want to consume is happiness, and everything else is just a way there. The purpose of liberty and hard money is to make the way to happiness easier, by enabling trust between people, by making transactions honest and by making your life easier to accept as it is. But even when we reach those freedoms, we are no closer to the answers if we never stopped to ask the hard questions. Do not worry about finding 'the right answers', because there are none to be found. It is hard to ask a question that has no true answer, but unless we ask it, we only drift through this life. Your circumstances never truly disable you from asking yourself: "What makes me happy?" Remember: you cannot begin your true journey, if you do not know where you want to be. This was a long and perhaps somewhat confusing post, because these things are quite hard for me to communicate in text. Hopefully it still sparked some thoughts about where we all could be going with whatever we pursue in life. Again, nothing in this world is automatic, so achieving the goals of personal liberty and monetary freedom means nothing, if we think that all our problems are solved when those two goals are met. In reality, those are just the very first steps, and then the real work begins. The sooner we realize this inevitable sequence of events, the better view we can have on the big picture and the sooner we can start aiming for more ultimate destinations in our lives.

Thank you Mike for all your efforts to educate us about money. I watched all the episodes of "The Secrets of money" that you produced, and I try to tell, to anyone that wants to listen, how the money system works, and the unfair and corrupt that it is. It is a pity that many people can not believe it, and stop listening incredulous, instead of learning and corroborate it. They will be the victims of their own ignorance.

@silverfuturist-Your point is much like the letter of the law, MISSING the Spirit of the law in detail to money."Money will not buy intelligence for the fool.Nor admiration for the coward.Nor respect for the incompetent."A, Rand.You said u learned much from MM but truly u learned only how to take a 'SELFIE' kid's today, do that very well. Doesn't matter what a callous mind reads, but only what a benevolent heart bleeds.Stare not at the obvious son, climb a tall mountain to accrual a vision.I know you can, and why I subbed you a long time ago.You can be greater like all, our struggle continues to be more than a 'Selfie'. This reading is at the heart of everything Ayn Rand has written! I have all her works and several analyses-readings, and though I clearly see the corruption around me, I still believe in this creed. If you believe that "money is the root of all evil" you might like to listen to this clip and rearrange your thinking. Rand is timeless.

+Martin Malý A persons connection to their homeland, roots that keep them invested in maintain that society, his children, his partner, his race, and his land which he owns is the base of moral existence. Money simplifies it down to voluntary contracts which produces no such incentive to establish roots. Instead capitalists and merchants end up buying that which was owned by that society. Without that incentive for taking the interests to heart of a particular ethnicity, race or national group than those groups will lose their ability to maintain traditional values, as more and more big businesses decide what the dominant culture should be, produce private security armies and control politics through lobbying (especially in democracies) in order to gain regulations favorable to them and not everyone else. Not only does the racial composition of society diminish (ie becomes less white) as does social cohesion diminish & high level of trust begins to fade which the foundation of society is built upon. You will likely either end up in revolution, financial collapse (as money gets defaced & used to buy votes) or you end up with a dystopian future, the likes of which we see in William Gibson novels. A technocracy as in the Brave New World.

the constant belief in the self, and its relative importance over all else, along with the subconscious eternal fear of death, is the beginning of this. the evil just chains your identity to a supposed tangible, fungible 'token'.
