Whats so bothering is that TW keep saying they are introducing "NEW" features like weather, alleyways, claimants etc, but the reality is, they are not new features. They are features they showcased in 2017 (that helped us buy the game) that were supposed to be in the full game. Theres nothing new about them. Its like me selling a chess board without the Bishops, and then saying im introducing new features to the game, which are the bishops. Its gaslighting and indecent. They also then left the game to modders, who have since abadoned the game after TW ignored their open letter addressing the main issues for modders. Its truely baffling how incompedent they are.

@@jal-kx6tm If they haven't delivered on their product then the financial incentive is absolutely there. They didn't dissolve the company after release. There are DLC and future titles to focus on, and with an already niche player base, they need to keep said player base on board. From their own words, the base game is not finished and if it's taken 4 years from EA release and over 11 years development. That's literally incompetence.

Thanks for this video I pretty much agree with everything here. Still find myself going back to warband with the original floris mod pack (the gameplay pack) installed a lot more frequently than I do bannerlord. Something about warband just feels a lot snappier and polished to me. I catch a lot of flak on reddit for saying this but it's true, Warband is just a lot more fun imo, only thing is that you can't have individual mods like bannerlord so every mod for warband is actually more like a mod pack. This comes with the downside of most mods being filled to the brim with bloat... With no way to turn off most of them... One of the most popular smaller mods that most mod creators put in their mod backs rn is an animation mod and it frequently bugs out and completely kills the experience for me, like the original animations for the game are great not sure why you'd want to change them. The big new mod making the rounds rn is Bannerpage and this in my opinion is a perfect example of a mod just absolutely oozing bloat mods (it includes a sex mod for example which you can turn off, and also the aforementioned animation mod along with many... many... many others). So bannerlord does have that on warband but honestly I probably won't go back to bannerlord until some of the complete overhaul mods come out anyway e.g. DADG or the starwars one so for me personally it's barely a win for bannerlord. Thanks for reading my rant I really appreciate the video!

The big problem is having land not giving you economic security. In one game I had a large city and two nearby castles. I worked to raise prosperity and protect my land and upgraded what I could and had good governors with the correct culture. My army and garrisons were not huge or particularly high level. All of that and i still relied on fighting battles to break even every month. Compared to being a mercenary, with a caravan and maybe a good shop - doing this you can make a fortune.

Bro where is your town?. I had no problem making money as aserai. I pull at least 9 or 10k from 2 town with 8000+ prosperity. 2 castle at 1000+ prosperity. 2 caravans and 7 workshops each generating 300 to 500 denars each day. Maybe you play in sturgia?. If so no wonder.... they are poor as f**k. I play base game only. No mods. Security is variable. But generally your good to go in around 50 to 60. If security is falling fast. That means ypu got bandit hideout infestation. Clear couple of em out. And security will rise up. Always garrison at least 150 troops at tier 3 or more. It will generally increase security the better the garrison troop tier is. At the 100 might be better if you want to save on cost. Pick governers with reduce upkeep costs effect. Another thing to mind about prosperity is that it tied up to food stocks. The higher food stock, the better increase in prosperity due to food surplus. Guard your villages well. Make sure they arent raided often. So they can keep producing food. These things take time. A newly captured town wont make money at the start. You need to make sure villages grow first so they can support high prosperity town.

Over 300 hours, I mentioned it in the first seconds. The question that I raise is not that it's not worth it (check the end of the video). I'm not bashing the game. It just could be better. As I've replied to another comment, there's no issue with paying for a DLC for some additional content, I'll gladly give even more money to Taleworlds. And I'm sure the community will support them as well. As long as it will be addressed correctly and openly, which they do have some issues with. I read your comment in another thread in this comment section about "bullies". It's not that it's lack of communication from the developers that don't give us, players, any idea what is going on. Is the work on the game continuing, or is it the finished state? That keeps people hoping for more (me) while getting tired of waiting. They have a right to say: "The game is now fully finished and we will work on another project". Which could stir some people, but essentially will do good for the community. But I think they won't do it soon, the reason is, this anticipation of changes and fine tuning of some mechanics sells the game and saying that it's done will get that away. Again, and I believe many people will buy dlcs, heck, some cosmetic items if that will enable them to continue to work on the game. I can go on, but I think I'll start repeating what I said in the video.
@kylerodd2342

@@timrorhus got it. So, judgement based on pure speculation on what you think the developers are doing. 👌 It’s no longer in beta. It’s a finished game. They tinker with it now and again but it’s done. That was the point when the released it. At this point, anymore updates is just bonus for us. Every game could have more stuff in it. For what it is, for $60, being a game that is one of a kind (there is no other medieval battle game out there that compares), it’s crazy to me to give them poor reviews. A “could have some more stuff in it” is an insane reason to downvote the game. The rationale is rational. It’s simply twisted and makes no sense.
@timrorhus
@timrorhus 2 месяца назад
@kylerodd2342 Speculation? Not quite. Since the game's official release in 2022, they've added weather effects, new quests, a formation and tactics overhaul, and more. These updates show they are still actively developing the game. If they can "tinker" with these aspects, it stands to reason they could also address the features they initially promised or focus on highly requested community features. In contrast, most "finished games" typically receive only bug fixes post-release, not significant content updates. This continuous development raises expectations for the fulfillment of earlier promises. Buying DLCs isn't an issue if funding is a constraint. The main concern is that many players, myself included, expected to receive what was initially promised at launch. This expectation forms the basis for my negative review, and I believe it's a common reason behind others' negative reviews as well. Constructive criticism like this isn't about devaluing the game but about encouraging improvement and holding developers accountable for their commitments. It's about ensuring we get the best possible experience from a game we all want to enjoy.

I'm huge fan of this game but this game has major problems. There is no proper deplomacy, when you become a king or queen you don't get a crown until your kids become of age, you fight the same enemies over and over again and if your kingdom has any power you end up fighting multiple wars because vessels and the current ruler doesn't want to make peace. On PC I think the game is fine because mods fix those problems but as consoles player we don't get any of that until tailworlds adds it which at this point they probably never will because they let modders do their job for them. This game had potential of being one of the most unique games but they completely dropped the ball.

Honestly, I’m glad there’s not too much forced story. I create my own narrative for each play through. You can approach it differently each time. And with mods there’s a ton of ways to enjoy it. Does it have everything? No. Can we imagine more? Of course. But for what it is, I think it’s brilliant. They never promised social dynamics like CK3. They didn’t promise any sort of city builder or city sim. They made an awesome medieval battle game. The only thing I could think they could have done better on was making a bit more reason to go into cities and towns. But on the other hand, the shortcuts are just a choice. I could easily just go inside and it’s actually nice they provide an option to skip it if you want. At the end of the day, each one of these medieval rpgs have their limits. I don’t think we can judge this game badly because it has some. Plus, if it were too much more in depth my laptop would have no chance running it. Lol
@timrorhus
@timrorhus 3 месяца назад
I'm against the forced story for this game, too. But collection of random events happening would still be complementary. Though it's not exactly the most important thing for me. And sure, I don't expect CK3, but a bit more logic and thought into AI and options of waging wars is what I find to be important. The game is just boring and sometimes even frustrating in mid to end game. Because AI can't handle stuff.

There is a lot of jank, as if they don't play test. Yeah it gets boring late game. I hate the campaign which asks you to go on the other side of the world to do some quest while trying to manage a war, in the middle of a siege, etc. Where it just become oh this annoying crap again? Go beat these few bandits on the other side of the world, while I'm obviously trying to win a war and the AI looses 5 towns while you are. I also see your point with the limited diplomacy options. I’m playing on version 1.1.0 and employ 68 mods. Like I said before I have 1300 hrs plus in game but the difference in my campaign is the hrs spent off game on Nexus mods finding, testing, and implementing game changing mods. Everything from crafting armor to being able to command individual parties in my kingdom. Vanilla Bannerlord is very much a “game with so much potential” that does fall short but you can definitely fill in those gaps with mods, if you’re willing to put in the time.

I didn't have a crash with the mods I play. But I don't know about global mods though.

The game is not bad. The support is. With more support, it could be so much more. But kudos to mod devs, they are doing great job

seeing as a lot of mods are retired and outdated, I dont get the ''when mods starts coming out''

I have 833 hours in Bannerlord, and many many more in Warband and Mount & blade, considering I was an early access backer. I don't use any mods at all. And I thoroughly enjoy it, I don't know why people seem to expect more from the game than it offers. It isn't meant to be CK3 or an RPG. It's a game for people who enjoy combat on horseback, and it gives you an excuse to do that.

Fair enough! Just feels like a missed opportunity by the end game with some things added it could be so much better. Thanks for watching

Exactly bro. It’s going to be ironic for me to say since I’m complaining about people complaining but it just doesn’t make sense to me. It’s a solid game. People who are always “it could have been more” are dreary. I know them in real life, and they tend to be drags. It’s like, can we just enjoy the good things we have here and stop living in some odd fantasy world (which again is ironic to say since we’re talking about a medieval fantasy game)? Lol. Like, I get people have opinions, but to give a negative review on a game you actually like despite it just not fitting your imagination is insane to me. Makes me wish more people studied epistemology and how judgement is formed.

I don't think you can call yourself a veteran with only 300 hours of play time

I mean, it's like 5x the time for a standard title + it's not an online game, and I have conquered the world multiple times and tried a bunch of mods while following the game development for years, even before full release. Is it still not enough?

I understand we have different perspectives on this. You are entitled to your opinion, and I'm entitled to mine. Agree to disagree.
