I’ve got a question for you so I have a huge ash tree in my front yard I’ve been noticing lots of mini wood pecker marks all of the tree. It’s a pretty old tree because most of the trees in our yard that we once took down are around 50-60 years. And the strange part is it’s been getting black to a little bit white. I don’t know if it’s actually sick all I know is that ash trees are known to get diseased thank you so much have a wonderful day!

I don't know but I think it might be worth consulting an arboriculturalist - someone who is trained in diagnosing tree issues. This association also offers help and advice: trees.org.uk/

Hi, I just wanted to ask something about my olive tree planted in a pot. I found out that the main trunk, the thick trunk is turning brown. It still has a green trunk, but 1/4 of the thick trunk on the top portion of the tree is turning brown. Is there any way to save my tree? You advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.

It's really difficult to tell at a distance. Is there an olive tree grower you could visit and ask? I'm sorry not to have the answer.

Please help my Japanese maple that has been living for two decades is now experiencing bud drop where the buds would swell up then fall like there being cut off. I noticed this while I was watering the plants growing next the the japanese maple before I saw a bud that fell before it leafed out, then I saw another one, then another one, I looked up onto the tree and though the tree looked heathy. I was getting increasingly concerned. I’ve heard that this is caused by unpredictable spring weather since there was a hailstorm just 3 days ago it literally piled up like snow everywhere so do you think this is true? And what should I do to help it?

I haven't grown maples because they don't do well in my soil - do you have a tree nursery near you? If so, it could be worth asking them as they will experience the same conditions as you. But it may just be the hail storm, so maybe don't worry if the tree seems otherwise healthy? Sorry not to have a better answer, but if the leaves look OK, I think I would wait to see if anything else happens.
