Don't forget that they made it cost 10 energy to restart the quest to try a new champion. Winter of Woe wasn't designed for experimentation and fun; it was designed to be a resource drain.

It's crazy that we're still earning "Cavalier objective crystals" 3 title releases after cavalier.

I feel like new content is just generally getting dull. I personally love it when they try to innovate and bring new mechanics to the game like the Grandmaster and Act 8 fights. I also can't stand it when difficult fights boil down to "give this super annoying defender even more annoying nodes and then give them a billion health so that your only hope of beating it is just chucking revives at it".

The game should now be called Quantity of Champions.

My biggest issue is their attitude, reminds me of my Ex, they never admit they are wrong unless something doesn't benefit them or will affect them, very selfish and self righteous voices being echoed through Jax and Mike and it's obvious. "We're listening to feedback 🤪" whilst also admitting they DON'T want players to solo this 🤣

The worst thing for me currently is how devalued I feel as Paragon player. The offers basically feel like a giant middle finger. The lack of options to PLAY THE GAME and advance as opposed to SPEND and advance is killing me. Kabams constant grip has squeezed me dry.

I expected a hard fight but not this BS, this fight isn’t fun at all

What has frustrated me more than the content for the last 6+ months is inputs and ai. I’ve been playing since literally it first came out, and I have never felt the complete lack of control over literally any fight that I do right now. They want you to intercept, but now opponents light intercept or backdraft intercept you. They want you to be fast in BGs, but opponents will refuse to throw out a dash and specials for a whole minute. Block, dash and dex inputs are not consistently registering and I just stand there and take a hit to the face or lose my fight tempo. I know I am a better player now then I used to be, but I feel like I haven’t really been able to improve in the last few months because the game is actively teaching me right now: “do not take any risks because you will lose 9 times out of 10.”

Been playing religiously for 9 years now. Never have I been so disinterested in MCOC as I am currently.

All that really matters to Kabam is the top 1% of players. As long as they keep spending money, Kabam will keeping on Kabaming. It's what happens when a very small percentage of players are responsible for a very large percentage of revenue.

January was a rough month just because of Bullseye. They keep making new defenders that change the mentality of the player from "Oh I see my mistake, need to play better" to "Gotta do it before the nodes kill me" and using like 10 revives to pass through it.

Sadly I've stopped doing a few things I used to do. BGs I stopped because it became too stressful and it felt like a more sophisticated version of arena. I'm tired of Everest content as you either need to buy units or grind for days which isn't fun. Raids was terrible. And the last EOP was so terrible with the AI that I was hesitant to do this one. After a few tries (plus the energy cost) makes me think: Yeah, the rewards are good, but at the end of the day the point of playing a game is to have fun. If the game doesn't fulfil its primary purpose to you, then it's not worth playing.

I would love to have an enjoyable reason to log in daily. The loop of AW,AQ,EQ,SQ, grind only being broken up by insanely difficult content, is not an fun trend.

the most BS part is if u use sandman and didn’t finish him in one fight, he will recover like 30-40%back before you can drop sp2 in the next fight.

You hit the nail on the head with just because we are paragon or valiant doesn’t mean we are the best of the best (skill wise)

Endgame content like this needs to be made fun instead of tedious

The perfect example: Eternity of Pain - Acceptance Grief Incarnate. Difficult content for end-game sweaty players and all you get is 1 gold and an exclusive profile picture. That is how all super difficult and niche content should reward players with going forward.

Yeah I lost all motivation a few weeks ago, I found myself only logging in to get the calendar rewards and sell expiring items. I had zero drive to do any content. 2 weeks ago I finally deleted the game after playing since 2016 and I don’t miss it.

Why Kabam hasn’t hired you and BG is beyond me. There are other YT’s that have great insights but your points/suggestions are what I think most of us want for this game. We want a fun enjoyable experience and kabam has struggled as of late. .. great video!

You know whats the worst? At least for paragon that is,you need to finish every single boss and every single objective to obtain the groot piece since that piece is the cutoff for rewards for paragon. If you're paragon and care about the deathless champs then screw you you're doing all the objectives otherwise prepare to pay 5000 units....if you're valiant and only care about the piece at least you can ignore some of the objectives and you'll still be fine....kabam saying screw you to all paragons.....

Fighting Bullseye got old really fast, usually I complete multiple difficulties but I was full with Cavalier this time.

I am Valiant. I have a large roster. I'm not a great player. I would love to use more of my roster and play different champions. All of these kinds of challenges force you into using or needing one or two specific champions. I just want to have fun and play with a bunch of different champions. Even the Event Quest every month seems to require the same handful of champions. The only time I get to play my full roster is in the arena, which is only enjoyable on occasion.

i like how kabam release hard defenders who have only several great counters, then also release content with limited amount of options that 90% of them are garbage against that boss.

At this point, I still play however it’s just a habit for me. I don’t care enough anymore to play any of this die, revive, die, revive stuff like Necropolis, Winter of Woe etc. I don’t spend anymore and havnt in a long time. Like I said MCOC is just a habit for me nowdays. I honestly could not care less if they announced tomorrow that they are shutting down the servers.

Yes. The complexity has grown too high with more complicated champs and combinations of nodes everywhere. Maybe I'm just old, but I miss the first four years of the game...

I got the revive and potion bundle for 500 units in the store the other day and as a paragon player I think I should use those resources instead for 100% Necropolis. Wasting them all on this winter of woe doesn’t make sense to me

They fumbled with this boss on the robot objective specifically. I personally felt attacked with that one

Very well said Seatin. I also feel like the fun is missing from content now. Also with the death of farming… the game feels like a way to squeeze money out of players only. I feel Like the content creators are designing the game specifically to be profitable only, without caring about making the game fun or interesting. Too bad too, this used to be one of my favorite all time games. Now I find myself completely uninterested.

The fun was out the window like 3 years ago when lag and bugs ran amock, and then they introduced all these BS defender champs who turn off masteries like Dex and willpower

Not to mention the 10 energy cost per attempt. It doesn't even give you the opportunity to master the fight without burning refills. You can't have a cost to something so difficult to learn. Kabam needs to stop making fights so dependent on AI cooperation that they clearly can't control

8.3 in my opinion is the single best piece of permanent content that Kabam has introduced. They need to look to 8.3 and chapter 8 in general as an example for other content.

One big thing they should really bring back is Variant content. They claim that they have no idea how to modernize the content, but the answer is as simple as it was when Variant content came out. All they'd have to do is just make a new difficulty and slap a new name on it. Literally the exact same thing they did to reintroduce the back issues to the game, but gives us 8 decent sized quests to enjoy and explore, while also getting solid rewards for where we're at in the game today.

They even pretty much admitted they want people to use resources 😂

I just think this game thrives in its questing content. They need to keep adding new stuff in the game because the act 8 bosses have genuinely been really fun. I like when the game is based on understanding unique nodes, not damage numbers, fun and interactive damage, and health pools. I think their main problem is they make objectives way too niche. There either needs to be way more tag and champ options or no requirements at all. Dont force people to use champs that you know are awful counters. Maybe just make them kill bosses and complete quests multiple times. That would be fine.

I’m a valiant player with 3 r3 7*,s yes I’m a small whale I buy most deals that progress my account but this challenge as gotten me seriously thinking of cutting my losses and quitting the game Yes I can spend to get though but like you said what is the fun in that

The main problem is they keep adding new content for the highest progression level if you aren’t that level your stuck with boring event quest stuck with not so good rewards and most of the time boring side quests like last months side quest I did all paths and this one had pretty good rewards but I wasn’t able to do the level 5 challenges all because of progression level but there’s too much content for me to focus on if I want to do alliance war and quest event and side quest battlegrounds and story progression it’s just too much

The moment I see that a new defender has an anti-Willpower ability, I know that I'll not have any fun in that fight

My frustration is that the Abs Man fight has so much anti-player BS. Unstoppable, excessive healing, Brute Force, snake-oil AI, deep HP pool, and damage reduction. It all sucks. I spent 2,000 units and some of my crystals and I still did not get him below 80% when I attempted the Robot challenge.

Problem with kabam they can never find middle ground content is either too annoying where you have to grind units and revives for good rewards or it’s way too easy and no fun

Yeah, I think after pushing to Paragon in October of last year, I've been taking it slow but last months side event was so hard for me.

The fun content used to be variants for me, they should bring them back, make the rewards relevant, 7* 1-2 materials and 6* 4-5 materials

at the very least, let's not charge us 10 energy for each try. That gets expensive very fast. A lot of champions already have defensive abilities in their kit. Adding just a few nodes should be more than enough. Imagine fighting Bullseye with the bane node, trying to bait his sp 1, and watching your health ticks away. Yikes

Putting the KG piece as the final para teir is the most messed up thing.

My biggest issue is the ai. I don’t enjoy playing against it anymore. The back draft intercepts, light intercepts, weird hesitations that lead to you taking block damage because it’s hard to get parties all lead to a hesistant more reactionary play style that I don’t enjoy.

2024 and seatin is still a man of the people. biggest mcoc content creator and he is always there to be the voice of the community. truly a man of legends.

This goes totally against what they said on why they had to nerf revive farming. They just want us to spend. And I agree 1000000% with everything you said. I feel like they are actually trying their hardest to make us all quit the game lol

Thanks for speaking up on this, and I hope the devs can put their egos aside for once to actually hear and do something about it. 9 year Paragon player here and I’ve never felt so unmotivated and frustrated with the direction this game has taken in the last 2-3 months. It’s started to feel like a second job, which isn’t (or shouldn’t be) the point.

Everything in the game has been to Grindy and the nodes take the longest to comprehend and read then to find the right champ.the quality of life is being ignored by kabam and this fight is an example of it. It’s ridiculous how many nodes they try to stuff in a single fight and the health pool is insane thank you for speaking up.

I think you've nailed it in this video. I'm also not the best player lol, but I have a decent sized account. This has been so frustrating and I have zero desire to do more of it. I'll be starting a masters program this year and have already considered stopping after 8.4, and this had kind of sold that for me. I'm not having fun, and there's no point to playing if it's not fun.

I don’t plan on doing it. 5k for a deathless KGroot shard sounds more efficient then revive spamming 3 months of content.

Kabam has prioritized resource draining fights & events, promoted & showcased by end game RU-vidrs who hammer home the “it’s ok to not solo the fight, don’t feel bad or worry” 😂 props & respect for actually calling attention to the recent ridiculousness. These ppl need to play a different game & remember what fun actually feels like.

Just become a boring puzzle game rather than a fighting game like tekken. Can’t be bothered to put in all the study, hard work and spending required to be successful.

Absolutely nailed the sentiment with this vid. Also where you have a game that’s got a lot of bugs at present and you demand perfect play e.g. you heavy counter the SP1 and it light or mediums for no reason it’s going to enrage people.

I also think the big problem is the objectives. I'm sure there are many fun counters to this boss but you can't use them because they're not the objective. I think they just need to use less restrictive tags so that you can actually use champions that aren't normally used

The problem is that they gatekeep great rewards behind having very spcific characters ranked up. Even if I was to do every Winter of Woe objective, the amount of resources I would have to spend for that would ultimately leave me in the same position that I started at, only now I've ranked up a bunch of characters that I'll never use again due to them being worse than other characters, or just not fun to play.

I expected a hard fight but the energy cost is ridiculous. That really takes all the fun out of it, cs it’s so expensive to even attempt that makes me not even want to bother. I love battlegrounds and I can’t do both cs the energy cost is so great for winter of woe.

Hey! I just recently became legend in the game and I am happy quite pleased with that but the thing is now many players are able to get free 5 stars or 6 stars in calendars and also event quests which means these kind of titles aren’t that hard to get you just need to put a significant amount of time in it.

Even EQ and SQ are much harder now. Valiant here and was struggling with some paths last month. I hope this month is not as bad cause I am close to quitting. I used to play casually, log in spend my energy doing a path, do AQ etc, log off. Now it is struggling to find the time cause it is taking so long to do some fights with all these nodes and stupid defenders they place. Like you need to incinerate to make any damage but they become debuff immune every other second...

I’ve decided to quit after playing from day 1. Just cannot be bothered investing time for AW, AQ, Bgs then stupid WOP and then story content and EQ. Enough is enough. 😢

I have to agree with this. I started a second account a little while back and its been a fun road getting this up to TB. When I first fought Grandmaster on my main, it was absolute torture, when I revisited this fight a few years later on the Alt, it was an absolutely fun fight. In fact, revisiting some of the older content on the alt, vs the new stuff for my main, you start to see the divide in enjoyment and focus on spending. I have not lost complete interest in MCOC, but definitely the drive to care about new, sweaty content. It also does not help FTP or middling players, to now have revives be drip fed. In the past getting together 20 revives was no issue, now you gotta really scrounge for that. Guides are saying play Necro with 100+ revives. Without blowing through cash, where does one now go? And also, the fact we need that many revives on average is a very telling piece of info. Fun, engaging, challenging and achievable content is so necessary for the future of this game. That said, BG's started as fun, now even that has become a grindy chore. I don't know what the game design needs to do, but perhaps listening to players such as yourself who echo the feelings of so many others, will be key.

I stopped playing consistanly a few months ago. Honestly don't miss it. I still log in every day to collect the daily rewards, but overall the game feels to boring to play

I got through all the objectives for abs man. Gamma was actually the worst for me with a rank 4 6* og hulk. But it was also my first objective and I didn't play correctly for a while. Robot I used Guily 2099 and spammed sp1. I got it done in 6 revives. Sinister six was also bad since I don't have sandman or shocker. I used Mysterio and would play and not allow him to throw any specials. I got to a sp2 to get power drain, and fought getting about 10% off every revive. It was fast and dirty but worked. Now I'm low on revives and need to grind for next boss

I’ve not had fun playing this game in ages have everything to become paragon but I stay cavalier because nothing they add interests me, I should probably quit but I’ve spent money so I feel like I can’t

They literally took something i loved in sop and eop and turned it into something i hate. The fight just feels cheap. Like you said, it’s just not fun. The energy cost is just the icing on the cake. Also, i completely agree about content in general. There is just nothing normal and fun anymore. I literally play rol for fun half the time because its the only place you can just have fun playing a champ without having time worry about a billion nodes and interactions. It’s the same with battlegrounds. There are just too many nodes and too many things you have to memorize and it just feels like work and not fun.

For a gaming company they sure do lack the most fundamental aspect. That being making a game fun. Their mission statement is “F U pay me”

I’ve been losing interest in the game lately too… What really threw me off was when I figured out the node from last season’s BG & was winning constantly, they changed the nodes halfway through the season which made me lose all interest on BG afterwards & I’ve only logged on to collect the rewards & use up energy on things like auto ISO or Catalysts

Agree completely Seatin. Now I know the Top 1k Players Love how hard this stuff is. It can still be hard but also be fun and not as punishing at the same time, and what's with the champ restrictions and insane node combos. Its already a 1.2mil HP champ we have to fight, itd still be a challenge just using say Science champs Tech champs and Mutants, but kabam has to make the Tags so damn specific. So ppl were asking Karatemike do they even test it and hes like yeah guys it's been tested. 😅 But my question is do they test it for Solos or for how many Revives it will take us lol. 😂😂😂

I couldn’t agree more. I went from being really excited about the game, playing tier 1 wars and loving it, to retiring. It’s just lost the fun with all of these blatant money grabs from Kabam. It started for me with the intro of the current war tactic and Kabam’s view that it was intended to be that difficult. It’s a sign that Kabam is trying to normalize high cost fights and game modes.

Your comments at about 6:50 are spot on. I am a paragon player and have a decent roster of 6* and 7* champs (4 rank 5s and 2 rank 2s). I play in a Gold 1 alliance with some pretty good players. Content like The Winter of Woe is incredibly humbling and frustrating. The sheer number of special nodes makes this a daunting task at best. It’s not fun to spend all the resources you have to beat one champion. I’m not going to do it nor am I going to spend hundreds of dollars on special offers to have those resources available in my inventory. Kabam needs to take a good hard look at the state of game and how it values its player base.

Completely agree with you. I have been playing the game for 9 years, and I quit last december. I think I´m not the only one who feels that the game has reached its peak for average players, such as myself. I used to think the game was for everyone, back when we had 60 champs and 5stars where difficult to get. Now that we have +250 champs and 7 stars can be bought with even more money than before, is very difficult for an average player to feel included. I don't think I have spent more than 100 USD during these 9 years, all things considered (lifestyle, personal projects, currency exchange, and so on), and with real effort and fun commitment I became paragon. Now it feels like a job, where I need to put not only the time but also the money. Now it feels is not for everyone. It doesn't feel like a fun commitment anymore. It's more like a side job that does not pay at all for the amount of time we invest. Yes, it's a business and they need (and want) all the money they can get. I just hope they know what they´re doing, prioritizing certain players (moneywise). It will be interesting to have the data on how many people play the game, and how much they have spent. As my family says: "El tiempo perdido, los santos lo lloran" - "Lost time, saints mourn". I don´t have time to lose on this, anymore. Is not worth it.

I'd love to see the utilisation of 1 - 5 star champions in event quest/side quest content, similar to variant 4. Variant 4 was one of the best pieces of content they have ever released. Instead of use your best "x" class champ to get fury buffs, you could have some complex nodes and interactions and people would be able to deal with them with access to a larger pool of champions. This would also help with the longevity of the game and the development of more complete rosters, ie. maxing out all the star levels, as opposed to constantly prioritising the highest star level.

The best example of a fun and challenging fight I can think of is the collector.

i miss old boss rush quests and celebrity challenges. they were hard but not unforgiving kind of hard, and the rewards were very good and we didn't have to wait for a long time.

After they put an end to revive farming too, convenient isn’t it

They think every player is a whale and that we spend hundreds of irl money on resources that Kabam can strip from us with content made to do so unfairly. These new characters and content aren’t made for skill, it’s made to rinse our units and revives…
