Just learning how to wash my hair properly from you has made a world of difference for me! I have fine hair but a lot of it and it gets greasy easily! I have bright vibrant red dyed hair that I do myself (don’t worry I was taught by a stylist friend and have been doing it successfully for years) and some of the tips I’ve learned from you has extended the life of my color! Even when it’s faded it doesn’t look bad when I follow what I’ve learned from you! I also use Redken for colored hair because of you.
As someone who's sensitive to fragrances and essential oils, I wish companies would just leave them out or use way less of them. Alternatively, there could be a fragrance free version available. I realize some products need it to mask the odor of stone of their ingredients; but, honestly, I use lots of fragrance free products, and it's not that strong.
I bought the redken volume shampoo that you recommended. I always thought I couldn’t use it. It’s a game changer. I guess I didn’t have coarse hair after all
KMS had an A M A Z I N G product called LIQUID ASSETS that looked like water but contained essential fatty acids, amino acids, vitamins and other nutrients that made your hair look and feel smooth, silky and satiny like a child’s hair and yet was so lightweight, that you could soak dry hair to dripping wet with it and it would not be greasy, oily, sticky or gummy when it dried and it would last through several shampoos without SILICONES OR QUATERNARY AMMONIUM COMPOUNDS. I hate that they discontinued it.
Thank you so much ,I'm happy you are answering questions, very helpful. I live in a small town where products are hard to find,I had to buy Pravana intense leave in,what do you think of this? Until I can get I can get pureology leave in conditioner for my tangled hair like you suggested. Thank you sooooo much for your help to me....
I actually had kind of the opposite experience of Leslie when I was a teenager - I have fine hair and my friends have medium/coarse hair. When I mentioned that I washed my hair every two days they were all horrified and said that was really bad for my hair - which, to be fair, was probably true! (I don't wash my hair that frequently now) But anyway that was how I learnt that different hair textures can go different amounts of time between washes :)
Good day. What do you recommend in place of Olaplex 3 please for dry, damaged, chemically coloured treated hair. For 50+ been colouring greys for a long time, had a huge effect on hair
I have fine hair... only grows to my shoulders! How do I make it grow! I'm only 37 and I feel my hair is thinning... is there a vitamin I should be taking?! ... and yes, I use salon shampoo and conditioner and leave in spray and oil! I've watched your videos... any other help you can offer... I do shower pretty much everyday because I feel like I need to... trying to do every other day but my hair is curly and gets pretty messy by morning! Lol 😆 help! Send me a routine please hair masters!💓😊
So, I noticed in this video you talked about Olaplex 3 and fragrance in it causing problems, and it being banned. I recently just purchased the Olaplex 3. Should I stop using it?
Ah that's hard. Water/sweat are your hair's worst enemy :) So you're trying to keep the hair as dry as possible. Ponytail with a headband is typically the best style for working out (although if you sweat a ton there's nothing you can do). You also want to time your wash days on cardio days when you sweat the most. And try to plan rest days to be day 1 hair so it doesn't start out oily 👍
Can we get more Q&A videos?? I love them! I'd like to know if always wearing ur hair up is bad for it and also should we be using silk pillowcases and hair ties and them microfiber towels?? Lol thanks in advance! I love ur channel!!!
What do you recommend for natural curly hair girls like Leslies beautiful hair. I don’t want to straighten my hair maybe I’ll do that for a specific style for one event, but I want my hair to be naturally curly long. I want my curls to grow out again I used to have it past my shoulders right above my breasts, but it would be very unhealthy with dry ends . I want to let it air dry, naturally is that OK?
Most of these hair “oils” are mostly silicones in the top of the ingredient deck and a tiny amount of oils at the bottom of the ingredient list. What are your thoughts on this?
Thank god I never gave in the trimming every 2/3 months myth. So many stylist tried to get me to trim every 2 months, even my family told me that my hair wouldn’t grow if I don’t trim.
Love this video thank you!! I've learned so much watching your TikToks. My hair is much happier now. I wish I knew all this 10 years ago. Can't imagine what my hair would have looked if I did.
I started using the olaplex and my hair started falling out and breaking off really bad. It because so brittle, I am so upset because of it. Plus I paid alot of money for the olaplex
PLEASE DO MONTHLY VIDEO.. THIS ONE IS 10 MONTHS AGO..Only because Olaplex is very damaging for hair.. For more reason.. Lost of hair, fried hair. And love New product..
When I was in college I only got haircuts three times a year and it looked great! My stylist said that as long as I took care of it properly it wasn’t an issue.
The fact Olaplex had a fragrance and I never felt it after using Olaplex for years is a testament to how much my nose doesn't work.😂😂😂 If I trim my hair every two months my hair will never get lengthy.
I use maybe 4 or 5 pea size drops of Moroccanoil shampoo and my hair is so healthy! Less is more! I use to use big globes and it still didn’t feel clean.
I play sports almost daily, and so I feel like I need to wash my hair nearly every day. My hair is fine and thinning, so I’m sure these frequent washings aren’t helping the condition of my hair. Should I just rinse it? I have some gray hair that I have colored with ammonia free Subtil. I usually use Shu Uemura for color treated hair shampoo and Kerastase densifying conditioner. I use Kerastase scalp and hair concentrate before styling with Phyto volumizing spray and a smidge of Olaplex 6. I sometimes add a drop of Olaplex 7. I do an Olaplex 3 treatment at least once a week. Is there anything I could be doing differently to help with my hair’s condition while still giving it some volume? I keep my hair short more out of necessity than what’s flattering. Thanks for all the great information.
I have cut that 2 or 3 split/dead hair off and my clients hair literally jumped in length in two months. Also shorter styles like pixies, bobs, and some shags need to be reshaped AT LEAST in 8 weeks. Alot of men get cuts every 3 weeks. I have watched several of your videos and learned a lot. Especially the bits about billion dollar companys. I think there's a difference in full service salons and salons that specialize in one or two things. You probably have more time to educate your guests. My salon does several treatments for all hair types it's just getting people to listen.
What about the healthy shampoos like Pros or Formulate? These are shampoos that you can get from different companies that will formulate the shampoo to your specific type of hair /scalp. Have you heard of them? What do you think and are they OK to use? I just don't like using any shampoos with sulfates and any drying ingredients in them.
This is probably a bad idea but what I do with my hair when I wash it about every 3 to 4 days is I use a clarifying shampoo instead of a professional shampoo thoughts.
What a great video! I never knew how much I DID NOT KNOW about my hair! It's nutz but I've pretty much done everything wrong....forever. Thanks for putting out such great, informative content and making it fast and easy to watch. I am going to put all your info to use and see if I can grow my hair out.
I’m a 55 year old woman going through menopause and I bought the shampoos that you recommended with the leave in conditioner I already had olaPlex 6 and 7 also have the heat protector from IGK I follow your recommendations on washing my hair. I’m in the second day and I still love my hair.. before I can never go more than two days without watching my hair
There are so many stylists that recommend applying dry shampoo to give fine hair "grip". Thank you so much for your guidance... I'm loving your channel & recommending it to others too!
Regarding hair trims...I guess it's ok to go for trims more often if your hair is really, really damaged (like, you bleached it 4 times in a row..yeah, I know) and you want to get rid of that damage?!
Professions telling us we do not need to trim is so refreshing or it is okay to go a 9-11 days with out a wash!!.. it is not all about the money!.. thank you ! ❤ 30 years since I have cut my hair... and only now it is start to get length again!!
Hi, enjoy your channel and advice. Wondering if the advice you give on your videos also applies to gray hair? Specifically fine gray wavy hair! Thank you!
Hello, Chris: I’ve been putting Olaplex 1 into my relaxer and color hoping to prevent damage. You say only #3 works!!!!!??? PlEASE explain about my magic formula.
Hi. I would like to know if you have another product recommendation to replace Pureology leave-in-conditioner? Due to unavailability in Europe. Thank you in advance :)
If I wash my hair every 5 or 6 days, how often should I use a clarifying shampoo? Say how many washes with “regular shampoo” should go between clarifying shampoo washes?
I have always thought that I had different types of hair growing from different parts of my head. And these different parts grow at different rates. My hair is just below shoulder length, cut slightly layered around the bottom. After 6 or 7 weeks it just looks raggedy, so I have to get it trimmed. Question: are there other heads like mine, or am I kidding myself? Should I get a particular kind of cut that would help with this situation?
I hated the Olaplex shampoo and conditioner. I got rid of my shampoo, conditioner, and #3. It made my scalp so dry that it was peeling, coming up in chunks when I brushed it. My hair constantly had dried scalp dead skin in my hair constantly. My hair itself got dryer and more brittle as time went on. It was very concentrated and I used very little too. It was horrible on my fine natural non colored hair.
Hi, I love your content and TikTok’s! I have MS between the medicine and the disease, my once incredibly thick hair is now thinned out, the top of my hair looks so damaged and it all over does not look healthy despite using all professional products. What can I do to get my hair healthy feeling/looking and maybe get the thickness back? Natural redhead, 36 years old, gray hairs as well. The hair feels like straw and looks wire ish like
Ah I'm sorry to hear that Melissa! Hair is strongly affected by overall health. Even a bad case of covid can cause temporary hair thinning. I'd just try to do your best to eat a healthy diet that's not too restrictive (calorie restricted diets thin hair). Make sure you aren't too stressed and get plenty of sleep. I wish I could help more with the MS but that's a bit out of my wheel house 🙏
Focus on the inside of your body instead of the outside. What is going on inside your body us showing up as hairloss and other issues. The best thing for autoimmune diseases is vitamin D, try to get as much vitamin D from foods and get sun every day. I was beginning to develop autoimmune issues and they started going away when I started healing my gut and getting more vitamin D.
Started using olaplex 3 and my hair started falling out like crazy. Hoping stopping using it I’ll see a difference and know for a fact it was the olaplex!
I know what you are saying. I just purchased the Olaplex 3 because of the video I saw about getting heathly hair, and now I see a video saying stop using it. I am confused
Olaplex #3 has NO perfume ?! :o I heard of the product but couldn't use it due to me being extremely sensitive to perfume... id looove to try it. Any other perfume free products??
GREAT video - thank you!! :) Do you know what other products contain this fragrance ingredient in Olaplex #3 that is being banned in EU/UK? Are you taking new clients??? :D
Also, can you tell me your thoughts on Joico's Defy Damage line? I've been using it for a few years and I still struggle with flat and dry hair! I try to wash my hair 2-3 times a week, but it still gets oily. I did get the Redken Hair Cleansing Cream Clarifying Shampoo and Olaplex Shampoo/Conditioner that you recommended in a previous video, so I use that once per week, but I still have issues with oil on my scalp! Thinking of switching to Redken Volume Injection per your recommendation, but I was curious about your thoughts on the Joico line! Thank you!!!
Hey Aleah! I believe all major hair hair brands have switched away from the fragrance by now. But there may be some local brands (outside of the EU) that I'm not aware of.
I have always needed two washes. Never have known anything different. I never blow dry. Always air dry. I don’t think I am gross for needing my hair washed every other day. It’s been like that my whole life- and that is just how it is. Nothing will change it.
I was meant to fall on this page! I appreciate the knowledge, you have no idea! I have thin hair and have been struggling to find the right shampoo. Thanks to your videos I finally learned how to wash my hair! Quick question, can I use the Redken volume injection shampoo as an everyday shampoo? I tend to wash my hair every 3 days or so.
Hello Blowout professor, I would like to ask what is your opinion on Monat hair products ? Also if you are able to do so, can you do Monut products review as you did for Redken products? Thank you.
So, I was shopping for a new, hairdryer. I have fine, wavy hair and wanted to take your advice to not use a hairdryer that uses Ion technology. I could not find a hairdryer that does not use this technology. I do have an old Revlon hairdryer that allows me to choose the amount of ionization I need. If you have suggestions on a hairdryer that does not use ionization, please share. Also, what's with "negative ions? Would that be a proton? From what I have be reading in the descriptions, a negative ion dryer is what everyone is searching for. I'm a bit confused. I clip up my hair when I work. I do not like hair in my face and I want to get a few cutesy clips, but the ones I have will not grip my hair after my stylist blew my hair dry using a round brush. Arg!
I’m having a very frustrating time with your site to buy products. Things are sold out, and if some are in stock, the purchase won’t go all the way through on the site. I was using PayPal, and it won’t complete the sale.
Thank you so much !! I have 2 questions for you : Is it possible to use olaplex1&2 at home and why is it only for professionals ? How do I know if olaplex 3 is good for my hair (i have virgin curly hair no heat / no coloring) ? Thanks again ..
I got redken clarifying shampoo + the volume injection redken shampoo. Did two washes my whole head was covered in soap suds!! The very next morning my hair still oily 😪
It was stated that it is essential to use a professional shampoo, a professional conditioner, a leave-in conditioner, and a hair oil. Will using a cleansing conditioner, which replaces both the shampoo and conditioner in one product, work instead of using a separate shampoo and a separate conditioner?
I have to argue with when you said you should blow dry before flat ironing. I have insane unruly hair that is coarse and wirey and with my 370 degrees straightener my hair comes out perfectly straight and smooth and for days. Along w my igk straightener spray. I also love your advice on the leave in conditioner and blowout cream! So good! Ps I grew up in Miami and live in Texas so I know humidity 😮
Hi! I was told I need a scalp facial , removing build up , so the hair follicles are able to come out easier ; the salon looks under a microscope and does a treatment , removing items/build up that have been on the scalp for a long time and etc: there are Japanese salons that so that . Do you recommend that ?
I wash my hair every 4 days and I use a volume injection shampoo and conditioner because my hair is fine and flat , and the volume shampoo and conditioner lifts my hair up , I have been watching a month and after much sitting on the perch I finally flew off and did what you suggested on your videos and within 1 hour my hair was puffed out and was so light and my scalp quit itching immediately after 1 hour of washing and now the 2nd wash I’m noticing growth and more fullness , thank you for your videos of recognizing hair type and what to ask for when shopping for your hair type , my hair loves and thanks you for your videos
