I will always have a personal love for El Dorados gold rares. Idk something about ED's gold rares just makes the cards pop out more plus I like the shininess of the gold foil

Personally I really like the first maximum gold set. It had a ton of value with really good reprints, and gold rare Eldlich is perfect for a card with golden lord in the name.

I enjoyed opening maximum gold el dorado because it was the current set when I started opening packs but it definitely didn’t age well for me as I found out how much better the older gold series are but it was a lot of fun opening it at the time as it was different then anything else. I’d say the original gold series is my favorite

Ruxin my guy, MGED is still on shelves at places like Wal-Mart. There is just no way it can compete with the older stuff that has been out of print for years. You don't need to pad your run time.

I'll always defend Max gold El Dorado. I genuinely LOVE the card pool and it always feels like I pull things that I either need for current decks or that I enjoy for nostalgia. AMAZING set :) Also I'm trying DESPERATELY to pull the CR Gizmek, Orochi for Amazing Defenders :) one of my favorite cards of all time!!

I don’t think I’ve ever opened a gold box. But the first pack I bought after being away from the game for ten years was a ghost rare. So I’m all in for ghost😂

El Dorado is one of the best modern day sets that was released cuz of so many good reprints and the gold cards are absolutely beautiful

All cards I get from Walmart are curved.. like bent or warped by humidity or something.. Is this normal? Its really depressing. Setting it on table looks like a land bridge. 100 Dollars spent. Are these brand new cards worthless?

My love for gold will always be the 1st and 2nd series. They will always be the best of the best to me because they bring so many high end cards that needed to be reprint but also they look so good. I love Premium Gold and Haunted Mine ghosts. The older, subtle gold looks a lot nicer and is harder to wear out compared to Maximum Gold. But I prefer my packs to have all foils like in Premium. Gold secret and ghost secret are amazing rarities.

As a long time zombie player, Gold Series: Haunted Mine was always my favorite. Not because of the gold/ghost rares (except for Blue-Eyes) but for the amount of usable zombie cards it had in it.

So… I don’t know if the premium gold rares in El Dorado were any better, but I never bought the set after the original Maximum Gold had terrible quality control. The prints on those things were awful, scan lines everywhere, foiling that wasn’t complete like you’d just have random holes in the art, and they warp like no other card I’ve seen. Like pretty much within a few months, those things were folded up like a taco shell despite being sleeved and inside of a box being weighed down by other cards. If the El Dorado golds have the same problem, that would explain why stuff like Extravagance is so cheap- they warp so much that they probably wouldn’t be considered tournament legal unless your ENTIRE deck was premium gold. The warping problem probably doesn’t affect your extra deck so.. that would be my guess on the value on some of these cards.

the "card-trick" crap is soooo annoying. it doesn't build or add any suspense at all. THAT should be the Ruxin special. All these yugi-tubers claim to be huge fans of the game but very few seem to actually be in this for the fun, comradery, nostalgia, art of the cards and joy of the game. It seems like the majority only give a shit about making money. I don't see any genuine joy or emotion when this guy opens up product unless its a money pull. He's got countless videos stating this exact thing. The card could be a main powerhouse for a deck build but "It's not a good pull" cuz it's only worth a dollar. It's not fandom for you, it's a business. you sent a care package to Jobber years ago, not cuz of fandom or sharing the love - you did it to build your business.

I don't really mind Gold Rare and they all have their own charms, I am just a bit sad that Konami printed all the cool alternate arts cards on Gold Rare products. Things like alt art Red Eyes Darkness, Plasma, I:P etc would have been really great if they are in a different rarity.

I love the concept of Haunted Mine, but honestly I will take anything over El Dorado. Every time I have opened that, the print quality has been awful. I haven't opened a ton of older Gold, but I never ran into that issue when doing so

Haunted mine is my favorite because of the guaranteed ghost rare card in each pack. I have a Naturia Barkion ghost from this set. The new gold sucks due to chipping and that they look funky in a card sleeve. Some old gold is cool, but not all of it.

I would say I like the gold foiling from gold 3 the best but love the gold ghosts, I mean they are so sexy. The cards in general from el derado are better I think and more playable but the gold foiling is disgusting 😅 fun video ruxin!

I'm really indifferent on gold rares in general, I know a lot of people like them and a lot of other people think it's just tacky. I've never had much of a view either way.
