This was their first music video. You can tell they were searching for their style in this EP and they have evolved so much since then. I still love Tati's singing in this track. It's so powerful.
I really love this song, I hope you explore more early Jinjer. I wish more reactors would look at Jinjer’s older songs, there are so many gems to discover.
4:48 - If they had done that they would be just another Metalcore band amongst hundreds of unknown Metalcore bands and we wouldn't have the Jinjer we have today. I, for one, I'm very glad they didn't follow that path.
I have never really liked a guitar riff before, but this was just went streight into my personal hall of legends. This is definately in my top 3 favourit songs of all time and a big part is the funky melody and awesome lyrics. Jinjer is in my heart❤
OH BOY!! HEY i remember you doin Jinjer and you went nuts, course you moved since then I believe, they one of few bands ive seen live 3 times over the past 40 yrs, they SO good its hard to explain... so tite but so off the hook sometimes, hah
Tati, Roman and Eugene are in this video and still in the band (Eugene is sporting dreads). The second guitarist (Dmitriy Oksen) left around 2015 to pursue acting. Not sure who's on drums here.
@@hemlock399 I'm afraid not, read the news myself on wednesday the 26th, but I'm guessing we will see some drops and mabye the full album in August/September mabye (I HOPE FFS)
I like old Jinjer and I like new Jinjer, they have always kicked ass. If you want more female fronted or all female band check out Crypta from Brazil and Hanabie from Japan. Crypta is death metal and Hanabie Harajukacore.
JinJer is very aware to not stay stuck in the past. Bands have to grow or they become stale. New album will be available soon. Can't wait to see what they come up with.
Both for the band as a whole and for Tati there's a definite sense of searching for their artistic identity among the sea of influences they drew from. Through Macro I felt it was pretty balanced between how much I liked their older vs newer stuff but despite some minor gripes (I do like the more stripped-back sound on Macro and Micro better) their artistic confidence on Wallflowers makes it my hands down favorite. I'm awaiting their upcoming album with anticipation and actually a bit of fear. I don't know what direction they'll go--especially what direction Tati does. We know the guys composed most of the music during and shortly after the siege of Kyiv when they were trapped in the city under Russian artillery and missile fire. There's possible directions that Tati could go that might be frightfully intense. Only time will tell.
Tati sounded a little more like some of the other female vocalists in metal back then. It's like she moved on to something better. Eugene, Roman and Tati were there. You're right the other two are former members. I don't know if it's "better" but definitely different. Another good older song would be A Plus or a Minus.
@@hemlock399 cool, for some reason I had a memory it being industrial maybe the drumming had mechanical feel that some industrial metal bands have that gave me that impression
As someone who became a fan two years ago, I very much value Inhale Don’t Breathe for its raw sound and it’s a great start when you look at the band. I WISH they would do “Scissors” and this live. (Maybe when I see them in one of the two October shows I’m going to?) With that said, I feel like their current sound has been their best.
Hell yeah more Jinjer lol, i like that whole album, you should check out Waltz off this album, its very different from their normal stuff in the beginning but its one of my favorite songs by them.
you'll deffo enjoy the rest of this album. >Until the End >Scissors >Destroy there's a couple of others, but those are the ones off the top of my head (and that's enough to pass the "right to wear the t-shirt challenge" 😂)
@@chupasaurus wow. the 2nd one is straight fire ; but the other 2 i had long purged from my memory 😂 but speaking of Mama Said , here's a hot take .... Chris Stapleton's cover of _Nothing Else Matters_ is better than the original. yup, i said it.
Current Jinjer is definitely better than the old Jinjer, but they were pretty good even back then. The newer songs are more interesting, sound better and more original, and are way heavier, but also a lot more progressive. I like the old stuff, but for me it doesn't really compare to their stuff from "King of Everything" and onwards. Really looking forward to their next album!
Yes, I prefer older Jinjer, the more metal core sounding Jinjer. I think their first 2 albums are STRONGLY influenced by the guitarist who left, but what do I know.
