Olivia rodrigo brings back songs. And there are tons of artists who do the same, just like ava max! Olivia us my favourite western singer and I love her. And she doesnt sing too much about boys, she sings a lot of songs about heartbreaks and so do tons of artists like taylor swift do too. Female artists who sing about boys constantly et backlash but those male artists who write about nothing but sex and money get nothing but love and fans
As a musician she isn’t copy the lyrics of the albums. She gets inspiration.Know the difference.Copying is having the same thing,Inspiring is getting something good and making it better Edit:thx so much for the likes and comments. This is my opinion and I would like for y’all to respect it.Also another song that has the same SONG TITLE is material girl. The modern one is more inappropriate and the old one is more appropriate (I think)
@@121anirudhs4 Well she has admitted that Taylor Swift is her biggest influence, even Taylor is okay with it because she knows everyone does these things
You’re obviously not musically talented at all. She sampled the exact part from Taylor swift. You need to listen to the bass and you’ll see the line up exactly!
@@Hellooooio Hello it’s the professional producer friend here: the definition of sampling is “when you include an element of a pre-existing recording by someone else in your composition”. Olivia & her producer’s haven’t used any part of Taylor’s recording in their song, meaning that it isn’t sampling and is simply 4 notes. Maybe it’s YOU who isn’t musically talented.
As an artist, I believe in what Picasso said... "good artists copy, great artists steal". Every time I have a reference, or inspiration, I don't just mimic what I see, I don't just copy it, cause there will be always a difference. Rather I let it influence and inspire me and I'll do it my own. Using my skills and my style. That's what I think musicians nowadays do... They just let the earlier musicians inspire them but they don't necessarily copy them.
She steals though. She samples it exactly and then doesn’t give credit. The only thing she can do is send her fans to defend her for what she did wrong it’s embarrassing
@@Hellooooio Yup she can literally get away with anything cuz she has just got this cult like following of heartbroken teens and kids 😂 that relate to her lol..
She doesn't deserve the hate nor do other singers too in a similar situation. If you don't know already, singers sample other singer's music to create their own which is not entirely wrong. But in this case, if the original artist doesn't like it then they both deserve to communicate maturely and not get hate. :)
@@listless4204 exactly and if you do it you have to pay, i think that olivia plans was put the song in internet and pray for people not caught the copie
Can we appreciate his and whole team's work? Truly, u are AMAZING! Great, interesting, educational content without hate and with lots of love! People like u guys make this world better place! I just want to thank you so much for everything you do and you truly change people's lives!
Many other song artists also takes inspirations or samples. Take Melanie Martinez for example ( I love Melanie btw), she took sample for her song " Pity party".
I believe that absolutely no one should receive hate that they don’t even deserve… Olivia is undeniably so talented and her marketing team did such a great job to advertise her album. Olivia also made more songs that made it to the billboards after “driver’s license” was such a success! Tbh, I thought she would be a one-hit-wonder but she proved us wrong so she totally deserves all the fame she has right now.
ironically those 90s grunge bands got their inspiration from other bands which older than them. personally i like when modern bands got their inspiration from older stuff that i know/grow up with bc it gives the effect of nostalgia.
This man is the only man who’s messages and lectures I can listen to without getting bored, skipping forward or ignoring the lesson. That you Mr. Agon ❤
I loved how you explained the fan base of kids nowadays!!I am also 17 years old but I like the music of 60's,70's and 80's more than the mainstream music!!
@@mclaren6535 Honestly he's like the only guy in mainstream music whom I listen to!! Honestly my favourite Genre's are Soft rock, classic rock, classic pop/love songs and dance music from the 80s!!
@@himanshuhero im 17 too, and am literally a huge fan of the rock genre as a ‘whole’ ever since i was a kid, its only recently I’ve started metal and am absolutely loving it ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I mean. It's not 100% Her fault. It was all by Her team and the company. You know that "most" of the new singers (nowadays) can't write and make their songs. You know that she was made by Disney and her team did an amazing job. All her success, fame, creativity were all from the people behind the screen. Don't blame her, blame her team. She just did what she have to do, commanded by her team.
This is exactly what my art(like painting n stuff) talks about. Nothing is completely new everything is a remix of what existed before. Nothing can be purely original so as long as the don't take full credit in sense their so original and creative and give credit when it's due that's fine
There’s nothing wrong with her being inspired by her idols and the people that she looks up too! I don’t get why they are trying to criticize her about it :(
I felt kinda sad at the end when he said that kids on TikTok and stuff don't know about rock n roll or music from the '80s. I'll have you know that I am below 10 years old and I absolutely love those types of music. I EVEN GREW UP WITH THIS MUSIC, EVER SINCE I WAS A NEWBORN, MY MOTHER WOULD PLAY THE BEATLES FOR ME. By the way, I love Queen, and I plan to keep all of this music alive. It's all so classic and original. Heck, I even took it upon myself to learn all of these artists. Sure, I can say that some kids don't love these wonderful pieces of music, but not all of them are like that.
Let's just say... there's a hundred millions of songs on the Internet, nobody knows all the songs and their exact melody, so I think it's ok if one sounds similar to another, let's not accuse of copying others shall we? plus she is just inspired ^_^
Philippines so proud of her I want to clarify that all songs are similar of tone and beat OK its depend how singer give a Justice or how to attack to the songs
Back in my day all of these songs has the same concept as the "Fate Motive" in Beethoven 9th symphony. Someone fact check this i think i made a mistake.
This is really true she doesn’t need this much hate yes everyone one gets hate but olivia hates is another story other musicians do this too sometimes Inspiration is everywhere you do inspiration at school to so really this video just reflect what is usually the case. Elvis Castello is a really good person
Idk who she or what genre she's all about is but it's so insensitive to accuse her of plagiarism when it's very well known that all music you hear is nothing more than just taken from here and there and remolded.
ya, that is so true how could people say about her there's nothing wrong about singing too much about boys don't judge her. I also wouldn't know that she copied but was genuinely inspired by their music and photoshoots I support her. I support you, Olivia Rodrigo !!!
In my perspective I think she’s not a COPY CAT I think it’s gust the similar beat . The songs that your comparing to Olivia’s songs That are about an Ex And all the songs that you comparing is about the same story . The point is she’s not copying anyones song it’s gust the same beat or story . Love you Olivia !
I am personally a huge fan of her songs and I hate to see all this hate. I mean it is reasonable if she stole a person's music by let's say like 25-30% and did not acknowledge them. but just using really really small parts like maybe like a guitar tune in the background for 10 seconds or some 2 seconds of lyrics AND acknowledging them for that too is something not everyone does.... Let's just say some people have too much free time😂
I agree in Nightfams word that modern singers and writers tend to recycle and bring life to old songs to a more modern and cool way for the new generation because most now modern music kind a sucks and some doesnt even a you know the word "All style No substance" kind a thing like its empty.
She takes inspiration from her idols and I see no fault in that, she did a Great job and is learning in the process, one day she will shut all the mouths of the haters if she's doing what she loves I also have my idols and they inspire me to do something good and they're the reason that even after singing for 7+ yes I realized that not just learning, but also let others listen my voice filled with positive vibes and someday I'll work hard to do that Maybe not a professional, but I'll sing for me and many others like me Music is all about feeling and enjoying oneself..I plan to upload covers in future..
In my opinion inspiration is different in copying, and if you make something out of inspiration its the same but different, but in copying that's different story
I personally think she didn't copy. Most singers/rappers use old songs to create their new songs. I would say she and other singers/rappers are inspired to why their songs sounds truly similar.
Olivia's like the Apple. Apple never claim they were the first. Apple claim its innovation by making it better than others. Or she is like the apps Zoom. Eventhough Skype was the first, but Zoom did it better. Skype was classic but Zoom was more relevant nowadays.
People need to know about sampled music tunes its very common. And she drew inspiration from the ones before her. And people hating her for writing about boys what so you think about Taylor Swift olivia's biggest inspiration her ideas her songs stop hating on her.
This actually puts things in perspective for me because it's something that has been bothering me. I have annoyingly good memory and sometimes I will hear a new song but I'm like I have heard this before but I can't put a picture on it or a name... I will be so confused. It's good to see people actually repurpose beats of other songs. As long as they give credit to the original, it's okay with me because the original people might have actually worked here to produce their own beats but didn't blow because of the industry and the person using it might be popular enough to bring recognition to the original people. I don't relate to Olivia songs only one, so I don't really care about what goes on with her. That's why I love this channel, makes me know the important stuff so I don't join the unnecessary haters
She sure has talent and she uses inspiration from other talented artists and legends whom she sees as an idol, As she's doing something good, she will be hated a lot But I hope and wish her the best so that she can overcome all the hate and give her best, putting away all the negativity People don't even need a reason to hate.. They assume everything is copy, never heard of the word inspiration huh? She's learning still and is a year elder than me probably, Maybe in future she will provide us more of her original songs, let's give her some time to grow....
We, fans shouldn't talk about this because people deserve to shine at all. Instead of focusing on negative things like criticizing and hating, we can support a rising singer like her. I'm glad for Project Nightfall for making this kind of video, critizing must need to be stopped now.
Actually I'd say criticism is required. Imagine making terrible music, but NOBODY mentions it and you think you're good, only to make the world suffer until they get fed up leading to death threats and massive internet bullying. I say focus on the positives AND negatives of everything.
I mean like, people who remix music didn't even get hate for "recreating" the music of someone. Instead, they get love and fame for making the music better. It's the same with what Olivia did
That’s exactly what’s happening in Bollywood people are remaking the songs from 80-90s which sound way awful than the original and not crediting the actual people who made those songs and making millions.
