Funny that you guys are talking about RR and Maseratis because I am a current owner of a 23 fullsize RR, and I have been thinking about getting a Maserati GT MC. My weekend car is a 2015 RC F that I have had for a few years but I have been getting an itch to get something new/unique. My RR has almost 22k miles (I daily it, and love it), and I'm hoping that I am not going to regret getting a GT MC. So far, I have watched tons of videos and have enjoyed the content. Only concern is maintenance expenses and not having a local Maserati dealership/Indy shop where I live. What are the things I should look out for when looking at them?

I made this plunge last fall. If you get a good price on a good car- man it is tough to beat. It def has its quirks and little small issues (for example- sometimes you start driving it and the thermostat jumps into the red- and at first you panic- but then you stop, turn the car off - check the engine bay- and once you see no issues you crank it back up and the thermostat is fine- little things like that all the time). And I think you need to find a good mechanic/shop - not the financially ruinous Maserati dealer- for basic maintenance and then you will be happy. I personally don’t think the car is really a daily driver (at least not with the F1 transmission) but if you only drive it when you are really in the mood to do some driving- then I will put the costs per smile value up against ANYTHING

I owned a 2008 and a 2014 and loved every minute of it! People always think they are unreliable, but I never had a problem, but if you do it will cost 3-4 times more than a regular car. So you need to find an independent mechanic to work on them which would make it a little less costly.

Nice review. I've had 2 now for about 3 years each. Taken them on special trips and to the car wash or a car show like Concorso Italiano during the Monterey Car Week in August. The only issue I have had is the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) when I first bought the GranCabrio S it wasn't working. Got it sorted out, but it still occasionally loses its mind. I carry a $2 tire pressure gauge with me in the glove box - problem solved! I'm 6'1" and can easily fit behind my driving position in the back seat. I'd be fine back there for going out to dinner with another couple. The rear seats are much more useable than a 911, Aston DB9 or Ferrari Roma. 0-60 takes about 4.5 sec, the Cabrio is about 4.7 sec... both are capable of 180+ mph top speed, although I've only taken one to 145 mph so far 🙂Great looking car, great sounding car, naturally aspirated Ferrari built V8 (the last you'll see in a Maserati) I consider these future classics that if it is cared for it will go up in value in the years ahead.
@Car.Nation
@Car.Nation Год назад
I agree! I believe they will go up in value in the years to come! Glad to hear you drive both your cars a lot. These kind of cars need to be driven! As for the TPMS thing, that's odd lol. I haven't had that issue, only thing for me was when I bought it, the 12v be the shifter wasn't working. Just needed a new fuse.

Friends - this is a GT car meant to cruise at very high speeds, for a long time, on the autobahn. If Maserati wanted to build a drag car, they would. If Maserati wanted to build a car to compete with Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLearn etc…they could easily do that. The MC20 is a great start. For all you haters out there….have you really owned one, driven a good example of one? Do you realize how heavy this car is? Imagine if Maserati decided to turbo charge their 4.7 V8 and lightened the car…the performance is already amazing with a naturally aspirated V8 but if you added some forced induction…it would blow a lot of these other cars away. You buy a Maserati for the fantastic engine and GT experience. You do not buy it for Technology…you drive it for the high speed touring capabilities this car has…this car will cruise at 175+ all day, on 4.7 liters without turbos all day. Haters, buy a good example and then post your thoughts. If you just want some boring German, silver, turbocharged sedan buy a Mercedes, BMW or Audi…or…a Hemi, Ford or any other muscle car…the majority of the people post things and they have no clue what they are talking about…and for the record, Social media is fucking stupid, so is Tic Toc, Facebook, Instagram and all that other shit…get off your ass, get a degree, and then buy a Maserati. Get off your phones…and develop some people skills.

Two years in for me, The answer is yes, if you maintain it properly. Make sure you keep the battery on a charger and start the engine regularly. Don’t leave it sitting. If you have to struggle to buy it, don’t buy it because won’t be able to afford to repair it. Parts and labor for anything needed is going to be super expensive. Keep it charged! If the battery isn’t at 100% all sorts of things stop working.
@Kryojenix
@Kryojenix 2 месяца назад
Do you know if the infotainment can be upgraded to the newer model? Or better still, to a 3rd party system from a good manufacturer - like AvinUSA, but I don't think they do Maserati units. Also, I was going to ask about "variator issues", but I think your car is too new to have that problem.

How many sets of tires do you go through within one year when using it as your daily? Also, what is the recommended oil change frequency?
@Car.Nation
@Car.Nation Год назад
Depends on how many miles you would drive it a year. I’ve gotten about 10-12k on a set of tires. Maserati maintenance in the infotainment system says 1 year of 12.5k miles. I’ve done my oil changes myself about every 5k

I bought my MC brand new in 2018, with all possible options. I have now 10K miles. Never had any problems with it. The car is a great GT car for long drives, and weekends. My is a convertible, so the only problem with that is, that trunk space is ridiculously small. Other than that, it’s a great car. Since I have quite few cars, I don’t intend to sell it, it’s a keeper !! Oh, since it’s a 2018, by that time Maserati ironed out all the wrinkles, and infotainment was upgraded to a touch screen.

@@Car.Nation if I can find a way to shave 500 pounds off it, it'd be an absolute beast. It'd undoubtedly be able to compete with or beat the E92 M3. This car has no backup camera it has no heads up display it has like no technology on the inside it's pretty much full of a lot of tiny buttons that it gets sticky over time I don't understand for that kind of money I'd rather get a Jaguar xfr that comes with 510 horsepower which is way faster than this car and the luxury is unbeatable and so are the materials drive and xfr and I guarantee you will fall in love with that

Good for you. The things you mentioned the GT doesn't have. Will never break.

Camera shy doesnt mean shy of others seeing you present in front of a camera. You seem to not be shy about being on camera, so your obviously not camera shy. Your shy of others judging you while your filming.

Sponsored by Maserati. Sooooo, this person must have a unicorn. Maserati is one if not the most unreliable car there is. So his car is either not old enough yet to get problems or he does in fact have a unicorn. BUT. Boy I tell you. Once stuff goes wrong its a financial nightmare. Its a Ferrari under the hood, no warranty and if stuff breaks you better have deep pockets. It is in fact a pretty vehicle. Just not worth owning. lol. Other than that - great video.
