just letting you and everyone else knows the ring of mercy does work if you're riding a pal then, the pal damage won't completely take out the pal you're trying to capture
Also pals have an equivalent passive to the ring of mercy, called mercy hit, which also prevents them from taking out a pal you’re trying to capture. It’s displayed as a red negative skill, despite it being one of the most useful skills in the game
It's slightly more complex than that. Mounted Pals use the rider's Attack stat, which apparently includes the Mercy trait. But it also means you barely do damage using their moves unless you put points into Attack.

One of my favourite things they added after launch was a (oxygen not included-esque) priority system for the pals work It made the management stand buildable into what I originally thought it was when I first saw it Instead of the 3 work modes it was Soo useful for organising the bases 👌

Thank goodness for more space in the pal box! I didn’t want to rely on viewing cages and I had to build some just cause I didn’t have anymore space to do any type of breeding. 😅😅😅 I do wish though that we could also sort Lucky’s (I mean I guess we can just favorite them but that’s a lot of manual work…) cause sometimes I just want to have those away so I can quickly sell pals without worrying about them. Can’t wait for the update and exploring the new area!
For my crude oil extractor setup, I’ve got 5 orzerks that I put work slave, artisan, lucky and serious as the passives running 2 of the large power generators with the electric pylon going. They aren’t fully condensed (only 1 star for each of them) but seem to do the job just fine. Currently working to incorporate the nocturnal passive. I also caught 5 of the helzephyr lux in the desert area and threw them in the base since they can work throughout the night while the orserks are sleeping - none of them have worker passives. While they aren’t as fast as the orserks, I haven’t had any issue with the power going out. Since I added an electric furnace for the plasteel, I went ahead and added a regular power generator just in case the additional power is needed but I don’t think it’s really making a difference…just gives one of my idle pals something to do since over half of my base goes idle all the time since it’s just an oil base and only 5 pals are really doing anything. 😅
I'm glad the people that talked crap about Palworld can see how alive this game is still. They said it would only last 5-6 months, yet here we are. Heck, I haven't played Pokemon SV in a LONG while.
On Steamcharts, you'd see the game's average daily player count was around the 20k before the update dropped, which mind you, is still quite high for a non-live-service game. After the update, the player count average the 100k daily. Even recent live service games (or at least, the ones available on Steam) struggle to keep such numbers.
@@gellax111 Part of the problem is games discourse has been obsessed with those live service games and so-called AAA games in general for the longest time. When an indie dev just makes a good game, nobody knows how to act.

The update is worth it if only for the new storage mechanics The "fast travel from anywhere" thing would make for a nice item after youve defeated a couple bosse and towers.
it's a big update. palworld is shaping up to be even better than before. i'm excited. just imagine the finished game, and they actually took the time to consider everyone's feedback and adding more interesting things to the game. that's gonna be so fun.
For the fast travel from anywhere thing, a simple implementation would be to add a new item, put a cooldown on it/limited use then cooldown. Could be tied up to level cap. For example Lv.50 you get 3 uses then cooldown, level 55 the cooldown reduces drastically but still has limited use.
That lockpick tool is cool, that’s brand new to me, disassembly line that’s effective sulfur and coal mines are effective too, time to remodel some bases
Make is so the arena allows you to just battle FROM your single player world. You join a queue and it puts you into a battle with a random person from the wotld
It's great to see you back with a new video I thought it was wheird that this channel just kinda stopped I know the palworld hype only lasted about 2-3 weeks but yeah hopefully you make some more videos with future updates and hopefully the full 1.0 release
The whole thing with the boxes and fridge was in a prior update not this one. Same for assigning who does what from the overseer stand thing. Mercy ring and IV goggles are also from a prior update.
Some features you mentioned was already available since the first raid update like sorting chest, ring of mercy (which works as well when you mount your pal), the dazzi clouds to tp back in the base, ore mine, IV fruits (cool they are purchasable now), multiclimate shirt. The 112th is Bellanoir, the pal we have to defeat from the 1st raid so also available since April.
i forgot how slow crafting ammo was in this game.... had to set my craft speed to 4x and now it feels sorta normal speed wise, kinda crazy you still have to sit there and hold the F button the ENTIRE time, wish they changed that. the arena being only working with people in the server your in kinda sucks, wish it was server matchmaking, now id have to start over on a server with people in it to even try it

I would love to get back to this game but it just doesn’t work on Xbox. Once I hit like level 35 it just started crashing quite literally every few steps I would take
amazing work by the devs, SO good. Time to come back. I just WISH they made servers easier. Fortnite's "key" system works so good where anyone can get on any time without renting a server.
Thank you for covering this update, bc I thought this update wasn’t quite enough to pull me back in, but all the QoL changes are HUGE and honestly resolved a ton of criticisms I had a launch, so I’m thinking I might dive back in.
@@austinjohngamingI haven't played in wile so my question did the ever fix the map their was alot of areas on beaches and in the desired area where you could fall through the world and get stuck if you didn't have a pale that you could use to fly. I also play solo and I unlocked all scamatics but 2 but tamed every pail avaliable in the game does the update have enugh content and new things to do that will be worth spending the time I loved pailworld but I fell off the game just felt boring or bland after a surten point I was able to compleat everything get all the journals as well.
4:35 Good thing there's a Mercy Hit ability for Pals that's similar to False Swipe, and it even works with passively summoned Pals like Daedream and Dazzi
@@chaosstripe9446 Mercy Hit is one of the 4 random abilities any Pal can have, and it can be inherited through breeding. It's technically a bad trait, symbolized by a red downward arrow, because it can also be detrimental depending on the circumstances.
Really great to see the devs adding QoL changes and new content to the game. I really like the new ore mining spots since that allows you to focus more on cool looking base locations rather than purely functional ones. I do wonder if they'll add quartz mining spots sometime later on since that would be the only ore/mineral bottleneck in multiplayer servers.
Some stuff has been there for a while thou, like: The How many Pal´s captured counter, the Ore Mining Site, Ring of Mercy, Homeward Thundercloud, Chest Setting´s, Allow transport by Pal and The (IV) Fruits (they permanently add 10% to your Pals IV Stats, like Attack, Defence and Health. IV is a hidden stat, that you can see with the Ability Glass. IV is a percentage of how effective a stat is ...kinda) ...and PS: You can switch out the Ring of Mercy while in combat :)
just to add a little to what you have said, the fruits raise IVs by a flat 10. Not 10% but a flat +10 to whatever they were (0-100). Also, the IV boosts either HP, Def, or Atk by 0% at 0 IV and 30% at 100. It is a range.
14:40 Yes it does change IVs and those changes are passed down in breeding, I know from my own experience and from everyone else in the palworld subreddit agreeing that it works for them. It is awesome that these are sold now, because before these fruits existed, but only as a reward for beating bellanoir libero and libero ultra.
IV fruit purchases will be a game changer for me. I've spent the last 4 weeks playing 6-10 hrs daily (I'm disabled) across 2 PT's (gf and mine) JUST to get a cross section of best traits for Base Pals and Combat Pals and it was just too much an ask to look at IVs as well, bearing in mind the percentage chances and time investment of rolling perfect 4's etc. Those prices do seem a little cheap though lol. Although I'm not into PvP perhaps the IV fruits could also be earned in arena matches (a bit like Pit fights in Shadow Of War where you improve traits of your Orcs)....it would add another dimension to the game....
Jup, I spend a similar amount of time on the game and so far I have 7 Alpha pals with perfect IVs and passives. OK technically I have 5 and another guild member has the other 2. I hope that Farming the dogecoin to purchase Them won't be to difficult, I heard somewhere that the mimic does not drop Them by butchering.
I’m looking forward to the finished product of this game. I do agree that the multiplayer needs a bit of a rework. One thing they could do to help such things is create a separate island. Let’s call it phase island for those players to build a base not counting towards the cap. Which main purpose to to be an outpost when initiating multiplayer please let us use offline as well. So we can sort pets and have decent production maybe even invite friends to let them see things will definitely need like a party leader invite system implemented on top of multiplayer to do so so either or can see each others base. It’s just like the concept of world of warcrafts garrisons that were introduced it has a phasing aspect so not matter who flies over it your base is technically immune to other players interact with it unless you invite. It’s a long post comment whatever but it would be welcome!!!
completely unnecessary IMO you have more then enough room with one base to have everything you need produced there, now that they adding coal and sulfar all you really need is a side base for quartz
@zachdillenger5468 not necessary but it would be cool if there was a physical building with potentially a nurse that can heal pals and some kind of tablet or device that allows access to pal storage and a limited upgradable personal item storage only accessible from that "pal center" that becomes the new island of beginnings

THX for preview austin! I haven't been excited for a update for a game for a very very long time. But with the big palworld update I am. For me as a breeder the best news is to hear that you can finally have a bigger palbox. I always struggled a lot with it. The biggest thing I am afraid of is the changes to the breeding system. I love it the way it is. So hopefully its more like an addition than a complete change. One last note: I wish you maybe had played while the smaller update came out. A lot of stuff you mentioned was there before the big update. Like the update to the box sorting system and the elixirs that buff the IVs of the Pals.
One comment I wanted to make for those who hadn't grinded to get to level 50 yet (me, I'm those who didn't get to level 50 yet), early game has one difference I've seen so far - some of the new pals will be in old areas at lower levels. I was so sad when my love big frog was at level 42 and almost decimated me. The squeals of glee I had when I was running around an old beach and saw level 4 frogs, boy was I so excited. Big frog is love, big frog is life
I’d give a tip. Need to be clear about the ring. You can attack with palz you just have to be riding them when you do. Just thought I needed to comment.
@@austinjohngaming just want to be clear I don’t want to sound rude or anything. I just assumed you maybe didn’t know or try it yet. But I can confirm that as long as your riding a mount both mount attacks and player attacks will only take them down to 1hp with ring on I didn’t think it would work either till I bumped it by accident a few weeks ago. As long as it doesn’t burn it’s fine.
@@austinjohngaming I’m sorry I miss read this. But yeah that’s the correct way to put it I guess. Just in the video it seemed like that was missed but I can rewatch and make sure. It’s definitely cool that riding a pal still allows you to get it to one hp. Another side note you can breed mercy hit which does the same thing and then even when not using a player attack it won’t kill it.
@@austinjohngaming So to be clear you did miss something also, any moves that do damage over time will bypass the mercy ring like say you have an attack that does poison, the attack its self will not drop the pal below one HP but if the pal gets poisoned that will do it.
Thanks, this video helped me make up my mind. I played so much of the base game, I ran out of things to do so I just flew around the map and removed all the Fog of War besides the all the water area with nothing there.
Are you playing on Series S? I've never had a crash on Series X. The holes in the map were a big problem though. I just always brought a flyer and don't land on spots with messed up textures. Hopefully they've fixed that. Can't wait to jump back in!
I'm no gaming expert. I play on the xbox one that my son gave me. Same crashing, no going into dungeons. I finally got ticked and uninstalled it for good. BUT, thought I'd try cloud gaming. It has its glitches but I have now beat over 10 dungeons. And have played more hours in the week I started using cloud gaming, than the 5 months I used it downloaded. Give it a try
Just jumped back on today to get a feel for the controls again still can't do a dungeon crashes in the boss room and still holes in map, I understand it's in beta still but damn these are basic game play things that should have been fixed months ago, still gonna play the new update though hopefully it's fixed

This update is fucking cracked. Pocketpair have put Gamefreak to absolute shame. Cooked and roasted these guys with more updates, more high quality updates, and more content in 5 months than GF have managed in multiple years… whilst charging £0. I almost wish this was a £10 DLC.
18:13 what about cheaters? they can easily boost their character on a local save, jump into a multiplayer arena with impossible pals+stats+whatever and here u are. - You talk about 'terraria' system, where the character is different than the world, however that's quite different
I’ve seen all the games released around palworld. Enshrouded, nightingale, souls mask, etc. they’re all dead games but pal world has many people talking about it on Reddit and plenty of recent videos made about it on RU-vid within a couple days. The rest you’re lucky if you see a video done in the past 2 months. Palworld really going to be a mainstream like Pokémon.

Not worth with stupidly dev coz updated sience yesterday clear up without bugged and after the day people got bugged by dev 18gb fix downupgrade. Asset. With tier brains put wrong folder. They say.
I was excited to try and come back but I play on series X. So I did and all my technology points are gone and dungeons still crash, and it just skips and drops frames just walking around and then crashes for no reason. It’s still unplayable on console and it’s a shame. It’s been months, there’s been multiple patches and they have straight up acknowledged the crashes as well. I’m so disappointed in this game. I really liked it to.
late comment on something nobody care but at 4:45 you say that lockpicking minigames can't be much different. That's not really true, that's the minigame that was popularised by bethesda with fallout 3. They use it everywhere since and some other games have copied it but even bethesda did other minigames before, like the one in oblivion which was way more realistic. For a more recent stab at a lockpicking minigame, kingdom come: deliverance also did something different. It's just that the fallout 3 approach is very quick and simple and everyone knows it
A MULTIPLAYER FUNCTION HAS TO BE ABLE TO transfer your progress to whoever's game and against whoever you want on whatever server. it's obvious. Otherwise, don't do multiplayer in your game. This game should have real multiplayer and not half-assed multiplayer. I'm disappointed that the developers haven't added this yet.
I would also love to see the separation of character and world states but then you have the cheaters who have already been hounding public servers. Emagine what they can do if they can just spawn a bunch of broken stuff on their characters in single player then bring them to a server.
I'm so happy for this. I've been looking forward to this update, but I thought Austin just got upset with Palworld doing weird stuff to his GPU and quit. Seeing a new Palworld video from Austin John has me wanting to make my friends buy this game even more than I did at launch!

The player transfer is a CRITICAL feature. I do want that more than anything also. The arena is kind of dead to me without it. It works for players who have always played on a server with their fiends, but other than that (which only covers a small % of people), the arena is still pretty inaccessible for the ways people would want to use it I think it would also be really cool to have a cross-world online arena challenge feature where from a single player game you could challenge other people in arena. This would also eliminate the need for player transfers and accomplish the same thing. This kind of multiplayer would breath long-term life into this game where people can start breeding and competing. You could have a ranked system and you could continue to elevate the game from there. Imagine if it wasn't just 3v3, but then was expanded to objectives or 2 players vs 2 players. New objectives would also make a variety of pals and strategies relevant and make the game so fun with opportunities to grow / aspire to something other than just beating the world and allows for infinite content in challenging other players
If you get the top level power generator with the electric pylon, a single orzerk can power the crude oil machine, you can also have multiple pals at the same generator so you don’t need to build more than 1 (unless there’s some benefit to that that I’m unaware of). And also woth the new helzephyr lux, since they’re dark and electric, they will power the generators but also won’t sleep so how I have it is 2 helzephyr lux’s powering one generator and the crude oil machine now runs 24/7.
