Sometimes actions speak louder than words. Translation Choices (discussed with QC):
- "tsundere" left untranslated as the word is commonly seen and well-understood in otaku media, also since there is no exact translation for it this would be most favorable. Wait actually, it is the only choice. (don't even get me started on how people terribly attempted to translate this term)
- "tsun tsun" and "dere dere" are translated. The decision is considered on multiple aspects. These terms alone, while associated with "tsundere", some people might not necessarily understand what they mean individually. And since "tsundere" is also mentioned in this context as well, that shall remain as the main focus and these associated terms can be translated for easier and better understanding.
- "tsukkomi" is translated as there is a proper translation for it in English (the straight man role in a classic comedy duo, with the other person being the punchline deliverer), also due to it being less-known as compared to "tsundere" in otaku media.
(I could go on a full rant about how frustrating assessing on whether to translate/not translate these can be. At the end of the day, it all comes down to context.)
