Is Pokemon getting greedy? Scarlet & Violet Build & Battle Stadium Box Review

This comment is an OPINION piece, but I'll try to back up my logic to the best of my ability. I think this video is a little abrasive with the loss of one pack from the set. While it is unfortunate to lose a pack with this set i dont believe its justified to say Pokémon is getting "greedy". "Here's your massive brick of energies. Do away with this! Why you gotta do this?!" (3:26). The whole point of the box is to be able to battle (i.e. play the TCG) you need the energies to play, plus this was made for those to get into playing the game as opposed to collecting. To simply "Do half the energies Pokémon" (3:50) is a little counter active towards the whole purpose of the set. Hill Top TCG (referred to as Hill Top from now on) is, in my opinion, too harsh on the fact that a kit designed for battling is not accounting for the collector scene. As well given a However, I am willing to turn a blind eye as this is my first video of this channel (if I'm being honest not a great first impression as a long time Pokémon fan of the games, anime and TCG) which is clearly for an audience who are interested in the collecting to a higher standard (which isn't me). As well, an argument can be made that you gotta play it up for the camera which is true. RU-vid is in the reality where Mr. Beast exists so playng it up as much as possible is what pleases the algorithm, thus gaining more traction, which to be fair, is working. Hill Tops videos just might not be my style and that's that not much to argue there. But with that said I don't think its EXTREMELY unreasonable for them to remove a pack from a set not build for collectors. As a more general fan who may not be as hardcore, this video did set up a different kinda video in my mind as I came into the video of a more general review as opposed to a review centered around the collecting and monetary value of the cards. Hill Top, hope this wasn't too critical and keep making videos! :D

Prices are bound to rise due to inflation and also in scarlet and violet they are including extra holos like two compulsory reverse holo cards and one compulsory holo

I just opened my first SV booster box today and wow!! I got both Miraidon and Koriadon illustrater rares. I’m beyond happy 🙏

I bought this for me and my son to get into. It seemed like a perfect start. 2/3 of a deck ready to go to make deck building easier, a bunch of packs so we could crack them open, trade, and complete our decks. Are the decks good for competitive play? Not even close. But it’s a great way, imo, to get into deck building, collecting, and battling for a reasonable price.

While I enjoy Pokémon TCG, the biggest gripe I have is people losing their mind at not pulling big money cards..

I bought a 3 pack the other day cuz they were out of the crown zenith ones and I literally got the gold koraidon and my personal chase the gardevoir!

The craziest thing about this decision is that it goes against the entire intention of the product. B&B Stadiums were supposed to be for two people to run a pre-release for themselves, and the additional (4) packs would get split between the two people to build their decks in addition to the B&B boxes. Now what, one person gets 2 packs and the other person gets 1? Greedy.

It just doesn't make sense to go from a nice even number like 12, to 11. Supposed to be 4 in each kit and 4 extra in the stadium. It just sucks. Its like little Debbie snacks getting smaller but still charging the same price lol.

I agree not a good look for the company. They went to the trouble of saying that they were going to include extra packs in the ETB and a promotional card to make up for the price increase and then they just take a pack away from this. It’s just weird and scummy.

Bro you should feel lucky, I bought one the first day I saw it on the shelf and I got literally one hit in the entire box

I don't recommend them. I opened a sealed case of 6 stadium boxes of lost origins and pulls were bad. Very disappointed. I had hope for one of six boxes to be good but no. Oh well.

Wait, why the complaining? Two build and battles retail for 40 total, 3 packs is around 12 or 15 with new price, then a brick of energy and dice... Msrp doesn't sound too terribly crazy, I certainly wouldnt buy this but just saying

I think they are worth 60 that’s 2 of the pre release kits by themselves then 3 packs which is 15 so your at 75 and plus tax in diffrent states so depending on state 80+

I'm really NOT liking modern holos and regular EXs. Like, AT ALL. And it's messing with me since I'm a Pokémon collector and I have my own channel about it. Maybe this base set isn't for me but they have improved the general design, borders are better -I think, there's more chances of getting a 'good card' now, but since most 'good cards' look average or ugly to me, I'm not having it. I only like the trainers, alternative arts or art rares... 😮‍💨 I think I'm just buying singles for now.

Yes, greedy af. See those "NEW" PALDEA TINS?? they just rmake those tins and slap in regular booster packs sealed and labeled as new product where as they just put booster packs from past sets. Then, saying it as a new product . Jezz 💸
