Off topic, sorry but my cat has completed the I131 treatment. The first blood test (30 day check) and everything looked good but he’s drinking a lot of water. I actually use a Dixie cup to give him water as he prefers that as well as it allows me to monitor his intake of water. Usually he’s drinking about 1/2 of a Dixie full first thing in the morning then again mid afternoon and at night. He eats both wet food and dry food. The kidney levels of the last blood work were normal. Should I be concerned about how much water he’s drinking? Is that a usual after effect of the treatment? Thank you so much for your channel! It was from watching your channel that I decided to go ahead with this treatment especially since he’s only 8 years old and the treatment is most of a cure!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!
Do you know what the exact T4 was on the 30 day retest? Also, how long has it been since that retest. Likely just working on flushing the system out, but it could indicate that creatinine is going up, and we don't know where the T4 will stabilize at yet.
I use raw food Primal which I believe is HPP. I have had my animals on raw food for 20 years. I now mix good quality canned with the raw, it's a perfect combo. I have a dog who almost died from undiagnosed ehrlrichia and he can no longer manage raw. So I lightly cook it and it's an even better option for his health. He has brain damage now from the disease but he's got a good life., has excellent health + a silky coat. I'm not a raw food ideologist though because there's a lot of dogma and people who look at kibble as the devil. But I have found that raw food does make for good pet health generally speaking.
@@aceee4386 We used Primal years ago until the company got bought out. They changed the formula, nearly doubled the daily caloric intake...and denied changing the formula even though I had pics of both labels. Said the change in caloric numbers was just a recalibration. Only discovered it because the cats eating it suddenly couldn't get full even as I kept increasing the amounts...and then reread the label. I think they readjusted things a bit eventually, and the suggested intake is less than before but still more than before the company was bought out. We use Stella & Chewy's for the freeze dried and mostly Small Batch for the frozen. Like you, we mix a bit of canned in for those on the freeze dried. With any food, you do the best you can with what's available, what you can afford, and what the cats will eat.
