Is "Rear Window" Alfred Hitchcock's Best Movie? Retro-Review! 

My favorite movie of all time as well.

it's surely one of his best but Hitch made many, I would call masterpieces. . Currently my favorite is Vertigo.

Runner-up is Strangers On A Train. But the best by far is Shadow Of A Doubt. That finale on board the moving train is edge-of-the -seat stuff!

I don't believe these questions should be asked because there are millions of people who love Hitchcock films and they all have their own opinions. My two favourites are Vertigo and The Birds. With Vertigo, I don't think it matters if you've seen it and know the ending. It's perfection in film-making and storytelling. Haunting music too from Bernard Herrmann. Most of his films have staying power unlike a lot of films made now. Something else about them too. They didn't need blood, guts and bad language to make an impact.

Shadow of a doubt ,by far the best ,rear window beautifully shot grace kelly and jimmy stewart great tho,shadow of doubt chillingly sinister like the original cape fear.

Can never decide who was more drop dead gorgeous grace kelly or diana rigg,problems problems.

No. Absolutely not. Too many flaws including, especially, the unrelenting blather in the first third of the film between Stewart and Kelly. Reliief comes in the form of Ritter (thank God for Ritter----everything she touches is GOLD) Nevertheless, a great film and worthy of this discussion, no doubt.
