I know the bikes still seem very expensive, but this package for this name brand bike, is a really good one considered the wheels with the 23 inner width rims and also the drivetrain and frame. I have a feeling we are seeing more and more companies become aggressive due to the direct to consumer sales

The mythical Scott in the carbon. I was looking for a Scott and found that a local dealer had one in my size in stock on their website. I rushed down to the shop and when I walked in, it was a E-bike dealer without a Scott in sight. On inquiry, they could order the bike, but didn't stock it.

105 is not what 105 use to be, it literally is exact same as the ultegra and dura just more weight

Front derailleur is the old one on 105 and it’s the new slim one on the Ultegra & Dura Ace versions

The most distinctive aero design after Ribble imo. Even though I’m happy with my mid-tier all rounder bike from a decade ago, Foil is always on my list :)

Can get better deals on overstocked 2023, 2024 models that include Ultegra instead of the 105. Not that there’s a huge difference, but if you buy 2025 with lower specs for more money than new 23/24 bike that seems kinda dumb

Scott's inventory issues go back many years prior to pandemic. I waited almost 4 months for my 2018 Foil 10 with Ultegra Di2. Good luck on the proprietary parts too. Love my Foil (and bought a 2022 Addict RC 10 in 2023 at a huge discount) but they are basically a niche brand. Agree on the fact that Scott's paint and finish are great.

yea we have had them like this before pandemic as well, it always stinks, the bikes are amazing but as soon as someone comes in and asks about them and I show them models, if i do not have in store it doesnt go anywhere

I just bought this bike, but my LBS owner was cool enough to keep the 105 group and let me upgrade to dura ace and just pay the difference. Once I have my fit dialed, I’m going to upgrade to the integrated cockpit. Couple more upgrades from there and it’s going to be super light. Expected to get it in this week… cannot wait

I have an Scott RC frame coming in 4 weeks after a long wait. I think I can get it to 6.8kg with pedals with the following components: Dura race groupset, Cybrei carbon cranks, Craftworks CRW wheels, 36cm EXS handlebar, lightweight carbon saddle and Xpedo titanium pedals. I may also change the heavy seatpost for a Hylix which is at least 100g lighter. I am looking forward to see how it rides.

That's a pretty good price for the value and weight. My Madone SLR is slightly lighter, but I'm running Red AXS, and I have Bora Ultra WTO 60 wheels, but I spent a lot more than $6000 for my 8 kg bike.

You'll have to pry my MY19 S-works Venge away from my cold, dead body. 16.0lbs with pedals, cages, mounts, and 50mm wheels, and I'm pretty sure based on Tour Magazine's aero results, it would be even faster than many 2024 aero bikes given that I have a Roval Rapide cockpit on it. That said, though, I do rather like the Scott Foil and would probably get that if I could no longer own a Venge. Maybe because the front end of the Foil looks so similar to the Venge, including that horizontal line just below the headtube.

What about the Merida Reacto 8000? You dont get the fancy paintjob, but you get ultegra di2, its incredibly stiff, comfortable and a really fast aero frame, and carbon wheels for the same price 💁‍♂️

Scott will never be considered a major brand because of their poor availability that has been going on for years way before the pandemic. World class bike as good as any brand out there

yea it sucks, they are different in europe but over here the stock is not as good, but there product is nice, I remember when specialized announced they were going consumer direct, our scott rep came in and asked if we wanted to make them our number 1 brand and asked for a massive order, but we were like we dneed to have bikes to be able to sell it would be impossible

its really pretty but it seems like a really bad deal to me Alloy Bar & Stem on a 6k bike Scott foil has always been a little behind on aerodynamics 105 substantially heavier compared competing aero bikes (over 8 kg o_o) Still think the best deal is getting a rim brake canyon aeroad from a few years back. should be easy to get it under 6kg with some deep carbon wheels for ~6K, and its tested fairly comparably to modern bikes in terms of aerodynamics.

No, Koga Kinsei is the best aero bike. The Koga Kinsei Prime is 5000€ with Ultegra and 50mm carbon wheels. The frame is based on their track bike that won everything.

I just fucked up customers bike today att work... A Trek Madone gen 7 with a red grupo on it. I in my ignorance thought that the wedge bolt was supposed to sit on the outside of the frame. I thought that it didn't look right, but i pushed it down a little and it slipped and the bolt head tore up the carbon slit in the frame... I later researched it and the whole wedge assembly is supposed to be on the inside of the seat post... A rely bad day at work...
