What a stupid thing to say that Sezane is made for slim, elegant and fit French women and not Americans! I'm still trying to figure out if the lady who wrote this stupid thing is a French snob or what. Besides, Mila is not American. She's from Brazil! And I happen to know one of the models, and she's Israeli, not French! Some of Sezane's pieces look better on curvy women than on the models, and one of their most gorgeous models is curvy too. Don't let anyone make you feel bad about yourselves or about your figure. All women are beautiful and the most important things are to be: a) healthy. b) confident.

You’re absolutely right! No such a thing as generalizing an entire nation based on a stereotype. There will be women in all heights, weights, types, styles everywhere in the world. I love that Sézane has a great size range and also models that represent almost eveyone. @@Anna-2 have you tried Loulou, Matthew, Damon, Martin cropped trousers? These fit me really well 🫶🏼 Georgio too actually! Jeans none fit me right, but that’s not a Sézane problem, it’s like this for all brands in my case

@@milainnewyork I tried the Loulou but not the others, maybe I will give them a go! Thank you for the suggestions :) Pants are so difficult, I feel like there are so many different body measurements. I hope one day I an do a 'custom pants pattern' sewing workshop and then sew all my trousers to my exact measurements haha. But that is a lofty dream.

Hi Mila, I'm French and I can tell you that not all French women are tall and slim 😆 I think it super useful to see reviews of clothes on different body types. I also hope that Sezane will take more and more into consideration women with various height and shape. I'm taller but I still have issues with trousers being too long. Also I can't wear the Betty cardigans as they are really too short for me. Don't listen to haters, they're just frustrated people so bitter about their own life that they need to treat others badly to feel better about themselves 😉

Btw I think Sézane should get you as a model for their next collection. Sézane can be for everyone ❤.As a petite and 5 foot 4 I struggle with the trouser lengths usually 33 inside leg but if I like a piece enough I still think it’s worth having them tailored. I got the Clayton trousers tailored on the length and tapered in a little and they look amazing. Looking forward to wearing on my holidays . X

I second the tailoring! The pants are always too boxy for me, so I started buying a size that fits my widest part (thighs) nicely and then get the smaller part (waist) taken in. It makes them fit perfectly, is undetectable and really cost-efficient. 👍

I adore you & your reviews. You look beautiful in all your clothes - Sezane & other brands. It's not easy to go on YT & be vulnerable but I appreciate you doing it! Your videos help me so much. I can't go out & look at everything or buy everything - so you save me time & money. Sezane markets globally online & they have free returns. They have stores in other countries. They have a lot of sizes. Clearly THEY don't make their merchandise just for skinny French people. I agree w/ others who say not all French people are thin. Fortunately they aren't all mean, either. They are charming. I think Sezane wants everybody to enjoy looking & feeling great. I'm 67. Life is more fun with things to wear that we love. What you do DOES matter, Mila. Oh and re: the Etia dress. I just ran to look at the buttonholes on mine and same issue. If you look closely you'll see the problem is that the buttonhole stitching was not well done. The stitching did not go all the way to the raw selvedge edges of the fabric and so those threads will be fraying away. Grrr. I've taken the tags off so it's too late to return = and I'm not sure I would anyway as it's otherwise such a great piece. Fortunately I know how to do a buttonhole embroidery stitch so can repair the worst of it myself - but total pita. For the price we deserve better finishing and quality control!

I’m an Italian, born, raised and living in Milan (and with a French dad). I love your videos, before placing an order on Sézane I always hope to find your review of the item. It’s tremendously helpful! I just want to say, there’s nothing more gauche than people who are constantly rambling on about how Americans don’t have any culture or sense of style. There are plenty of creative Americans at the forefront of their respective fields; in art, fashion, design, architecture and literature. The body shaming aspect is also ridiculous. You look great and most people in Europe don’t have the body type of the models on Sézane’s website, nor do they need to be considered beautiful and enjoy fashion. The commenter has an extremely myopic idea of elegance and beauty. That’s their issue, not anybody else’s.

I got the skirt instead of the dress and it really works for me. I wear the pencil type skirt with a white shirt and it really shows off the vibrancy of the skirt. You can dress up or down. Wearing it with the chlo shirt elevate it up. Even a white t shirt looks great. So for me I get the lovely fabric colour but is far more versatile, especially changing shoes from high to low. Just checked the skirt for freying but it does not have a button hole it has a gold clasp closure which is very nice.

Awww, poor lady sounds unhappy. We all have those days. Sezane certainly caters to tall (I’m 5’1”), thin women - as almost all brands do. But a little tweak hither and thither and it’s perfect. The dresses almost always look stunning on my little, curvy shape.

I have several sezane knitwear pieces haven't really branched out into pants, dresses, etc. The quality of pieces is excellent. I am American and slender. The sizing is generous IMO. I get XXS usually.

Hmmm, I feel like Insta is filled with American women loving their Sezane pieces, no? Meanwhile, as someone a bit shorter than you my issue with a lot of Sezane's trousers is the predominant wide leg cut. Even in heels I always wind up looking like Popeye in them lol. I suspect that their slimmer jeans might be more flattering on me, but since it's so hard to predict their sizing I"m just more inclined to stick with local options that I can try on in person. You have excellent taste and are very good at choosing the most flattering pieces for yourself. I appreciate that you don't compromise on fit just for the sake of a trendy look. It's inspiring to be reminded that we're all worth looking and feeling our best selves!

Sézane has had me in a chokehold for the past 3 years and for me, I put the brand in the same lane as J. Crew. Sézane is a brand where I can purchase elevated, seasonal basics that generally are of overall good quality, much like J. Crew. Yes, the brands are different, with different business models, but both consistently provide very specific aesthetics that you can rely on. One elegant French chic, the other elevated American sport. Like any clothing brand, not everything works for me in Sézane (curvy style pants please!!) or J. Crew, but I find myself looking to both these brands for basic and classic pieces, as well as unique seasonal pieces year around.

I used to own a dress like the Caprice dress, except it had short sleeves. The Etia dress looks like it's paprika red on the computer. It's a shame that the suede shorts don't have belt loops. Still, you have made great selections.

Hi, first of all I want to say that your videos about Sezane are very helpful and so nice to watch. I am laughing as all pants not fitting you would be a great fit on me as I am a complete opposite of your body shape. I am thin without no hips and bump. So for example Brut Sexy jeans there is no way it could fit me, as no matter the size it is always loose around my hips. All that said as much as I love Sezane, I struggle to find a pair of pants within their range, and I have tried a lot! Which is a pitty as I love many items and the quality is superb, but eh, it is a struggle. And I have the same thing with the tops as I have a wide shoulders, but small breasts. So again, most of the tops are too roomy and wide. Nonethless I will keep trying as it is hard to resist Sezane :-).

I believe so! They usually release a style and see how it plays out. It’s a nice style, I’m sure eventually they’ll maybe add 1% elastane (like they did with The crop) or release new colors

By the way, the thing with the threads in the button hole is not too bad an issue. When you make a buttonhole you do a load of stitches and then you cut open the fabric inside the stitches. Reall,y the people making the dress should take the time to cut away any threads from that cut in the fabric, so it is a shame they didn't. But it is something you can do yourself at home and it won't affect the quality or longevity of the piece :)

Right, not a big deal, but definitely worth mentioning since the dress costs around $250. I don’t know if you saw the dress in person, but the thread is not from the button hole (the stitched part), it’s from this specific fabric they chose. The threads didn’t show at all until I unbuttoned it, so I’m not sure they were visible when Sézane team finished sewing it (so they could have gone ahead and cut the extra threads). My mom is a seamstress and I always helped her with button holes, it’s not that hard to make a good finish, they could have picked a better fabric or just like you said, checked out the final product!

The one I’m wearing is very soft and comfortable. Not itchy at all 🩶 I went out today and it felt so cozy and warm. Love it 😍

The Caprice dress is beautiful. I love fit & flare dresses, but it needs to be much longer for me. Some of their dresses are stunning but way too short for my taste!

Do you have any problems with your orders or returns by sezane? Every time I order some pieces, there is always something wrong... for example I got only 2 of 5 ordered articles but all of them where invoiced, or I sent something back and got a refund for only one piece and not for the other one! Now I have to prove, that both of the articles where packed! And I know they were but how am I going to prove it?! Or I returned 2 articles and got 0 eur refunded because of some technical issues. 🙄 Do you have any problems with sezane?

Hi, it has also happened to me that parts of an order were missing or something wrong was sent to me. In all those cases I immediately wrote an E-mail to Sézane and everything was solved quite quickly. One time a pair of sandals broke after only a few times wearing. I sent an E-mail and was ansewered that I could send the sandals back and receive either a new pair or a refund. So all in all the Sézane team was always quick to reply and found a solution I was happy with. However, it has not happened yet that I returned something without receiving a refund.

American women are thin and curvy, as are French women and everyone else. I am a tall American with some extra weight but a straighter shape. Many things from Sezane flatter my figure, including the Matthew trousers and longer skirts. I have also returned many things because of ill-fit. As much as I would like to, I cannot wear shorter skirts and dresses. Sezane's look particularly bad on me. But what an ignorant comment. That is like saying no European should wear Banana Republic. You look terrific in the stuff you buy, so don't worry about it.

I also believe the dig was not directed at you but at American women overall. We are known to be heavier than women from other countries, but we are also allowed to shop wherever the hell we want. Sezane doesn't care who buys their clothing, only that it sells.

Ohh interesting to know that all European women have the same measurements and proportions 🤔 so how does it work? Is it like all 220 million women in Europe are all looking the same, everyone with the same bra size, flat belly? 😅 Please do let me know, this is so curious and interesting.
