@@cocob777Hayes, shortly after the 3-minute mark, claimed Sid the Kid should play for the NY Rangers, with the cohost of TSN1050 Radio’s OverDrive having used the word “Broadway“ as part of that claim.
Dear TSN, Hayes is the host of a Toronto radio show that talks primarily about the Leafs. He and Jeff O'Neil are unabashed homers, and are presumably popular among Leafs fans. But please stop subjecting the rest of us to their opinions on anything beyond the realm of Toronto. They're local media, not national. Stop trying to make them national. Sincerely, the rest of Canada
Jeff O’Neill is a big time homer, but you haven’t watch enough Overdrive to see Hayes criticizes this team more than anyone. He might love the Leafs but he’s brutally honest when they need it
@@jmacyourlife The point here is Hayes is a huge homer. How would you like watching Ryan Rishaug, Jason Strudwick, and Dustin Nielson host a 'nationally televised' daily sports talk show on TSN and spend more than half of it talking about Edmonton sports? Yeah, thought so. This is why the rest of Canada can't stand the Leafs, Argos, etc. they get shoved down our throats continuously. As mentioned in another post here, if Crosby did sign it would need to be a bargain basement contract based on your cap situation, and only way he signs a team friendly deal is if you're as good as the Oilers, and the Leafs aren't even close to the Oilers. If Sid leaves Pittsburgh to sign on with his 'dream' team, it's the Habs, and if he wants to play for a cup contender, it's somewhere in the US. I'd love to see him play with McDavid and Drai and who knows? But we're in the same boat as the Leafs, it would need to be a very friendly to the team deal
The Leafs are the epicentre of the hockey universe and your team is just existing. Toronto is the Mecca of hockey. You can’t run from it and you can’t hide from it. Your jealously is obvious. The Leafs have more fans than all the other Canadian teams combined.
Shocker. The guy from Toronto says come to Toronto because it doesn't get bigger than Toronto. This message provided by the Toronto Sports Network. Toronto.
@@tomwilson3969You guys are doubting montreal bruh. Yea i agree montreal shouldn’t sign crosby because of his age but also Montreal getting better every year and the fact they had about 40 one goal differential loss, imagine if they won like half of them.
He has done so much for the game that he’s earned the right to shape his own destiny, but it would be hard to see him playing anywhere but Pitty, and I’m not even a Pens fan per se. Just have nothing but respect for a guy who’s played the game at an all-time level with nothing but integrity throughout his entire career. Sid is fkn GOATED 💪🏼🐧🏆
It's crazy nobody mentioned Colorado. Sid's best friend plays there and they're legit contenders. Not to mention it's in the other conference so he wouldn't be playing directly against the Pens and stepping on toes. Not like if he requested to go to rival NYR lol could you imagine how much that would piss off the Pittsburgh fan base? He wouldn't do that in a million years.
Why? He is a lifer in pittsburgh and hes got 3 cups, 4 cup finals and 5 conference finals. I think he's satisfied. I am not a penguins fan but at the same time this is an opportunity to see someone play whole career with one team so just leave the guy alone
Yes come play with McDavid and Draisaitl to win your 4th cup. Imagine a Hyman-McDavid-Crosby line or better yet Draisaitl-McDavid-Crosby or Draisaitl-Crosby-McDavid
These guys are so jealous that a great Canadian play's in America 😂 Like he would have an interest playing for basket case Leafs franchise lol, he's staying and mentoring the next generation of Penguins
He’ll never go. He’ll retire and be AGM the next day if he wants it. And ownership there has made it clear to keep trying to win. The pens were pitching Tarasenko this offseason- that says it all about where they’re at.
@@HandShakeLineRespect Jealous of what? The Toronto Maple Leafs?? For what? Never making it past the 3rd round in their franchise existence? The fact that Pittsburgh has won five cups in the last 33 years? Jealous of what dummy?
Crosby grew up as a Habs fan and with the way rebuilding is going, it'll only be logical he signs in Montreal. Not sure why Toronto is even mentioned (oh right, TSN lol).
@@chr970 just to clarify. I don't think he'll sign in Montreal (he'll most likely finish his career in Pittsburgh). My point is not sure why Toronto is even mentioned.
I disagree with Corrado , Lemieux stayed in Pittsburgh because he was the owner...if Crosby goes somewhere it's to win a Stanley cup with his Nova Scotia friend MacKinnon with Colorado Avs
They basically said he’s staying in Pittsburgh with the last note of Mario Lemieux having the all Time points in Pitt. I kinda think Crosby wants to add that to his resume , he already has every other accolade imaginable.
@@raphroseraph9135 he did. The Olympics . Not the cup but a medal. Also when you when you can bring the cup wherever you please for one whole day. He brought that shit all over eastern Canada!
With Demidov Next year and our young core with + 1 year of experience, it actually works really well. Suzuki and Cole already have more playoff experience then the whole Maple leafs team.
I’m not a fan of taking older players at the end of their careers but if Sid wants to join the Habs for the next 2 seasons it would send our rebuild into hyper drive. As the most skilled veteran in the NHL he still puts up points and has the desire to win. The experience of the alpha lion showing the young lions how to hunt can’t be understated. Kent are you listening?.
As a pens fan this is clearly clickbait for TSN just trying to get views 😂 Crosby ain’t going nowhere regardless if we’re in a rebuild or not. I honestly think we’re gonna rebound slightly this year anyways.
To be completely honest, objectively and rationally, he SHOULD leave the Pens and let them get the moon for him. But it's incredibly likely Sid won't ever leave Pittsburgh. He is the Penguins and the Penguins are Crosby's team. The moment he retires he'll become an AC or player development consultant or something like that for the team. But we can never say never. Brodeur left the Devils (and it felt SO wrong all along), Modano left the Stars, Alfie left the Sens, Iggy left Calgary... all guys you would have said at the stage Sid is at, that would never leave their teams. IF he plays one year or two with another team tho, it's Colorado with Mack (he always said he'd love to play with him) or Montreal to complete his childhood dream. There's really no other choice.
I hate to say it...but absolutely. He deserves to retire with an upper management who isn't just content with the winning of the past. A management who will get him the support he needs. They used him for everything he had to give and no leaving him out to dry
Screw the leafs lol montreal would be amazing and also Colorado but I think for his last year whether being traded now or at the deadline I think the wildest destination would be in washington for a chance to play with his long talked about rival in Ovy and compete for a chance at a cup together now that would be some magical stuff.
If Crosby is still hungry to win I would not hold it against him if he left, because the Pens aren't going to be contenders anytime soon. That being said, yeah he's not going anywhere lol. I just do not think he would do that, the Pens are his team.
And Gretzky got traded. If he can get traded anyone can. Connor is coming to the end of his contract he could get traded to. Brady T if he does not make the playoffs next year he could get traded.
The difference between Crosby and Lidstrom is that the Wings made the playoffs every year of Lidstrom's career. He had no reason to even consider a change. Who knows if he would have felt differently if they started sliding sooner
Colorado or Montreal is where he's headed for sure. He'll win that cup and then return to Pittsburgh just after news of signing with the Flyers. Because you know... to stir up useless drama and toss a jab at Jagr. Haha.
I'd love to see him in Detroit, we need a second line center (him or zegras). Could you imagine a top 6 of Larkin, debrincat, kane, Raymond, tarasenko and Crosby (or zegras) It'd be a deeper top 6 than toronto's granted torontos top players are better. (Hate saying that)
The idea of Sid leaving Pitt is comical. He is going to retire a Penguin…he has built too much to water down the ending of his career at some other org. To bring up the Tom Brady comparison is silly also, Tom left simply because there was more money in Tampa. Sid took less money in his earlier contract to make room for others. In a dream world, the only team I could see Sid going to is the Avalanche…play with his best friend and enjoy the game more before he retires. Again…dream world lol.
He is NOT GOING ANYWHERE! He's already won it all he has nothing else to prove....and he almost dragged a Penguins team into the playoffs single handedly. If he's able to win a 4th with his team.... that'll prove he's 100 percent on the mount rushmore of Hockey
The Leafs are the epicentre of the hockey universe and your team is just existing. Toronto is the Mecca of hockey. You can’t run from it and you can’t hide from it. The Leafs have more fans than all the other Canadian teams combined.
If he’s a true hab fan, he would want to be a hab. The rebuild could turn into playoff spot and more(as they would be buyers at the 2025 trade deadline or . If he signs a contract extension, we could trade him to Colorado or a team of his choosing at the 2026 trade deadline if the Habs are not in a playoff spot.
I actually had a dream last night that Crosby requested a trade to the Bruins because he was sick of playing against Marchand and wanted to play with him. They are also a contender. Habs and Avalanche make sense but it was a funny dream with a slight bit of logic
Crosby is a bruin. Play with Marchand, his buddy Bergeron is in the front office. Can play with Pasta would automatically become his best wing he’s ever had. Stays in Northeast
As a rangers fan respectfully that is not happening he’s gonna go play for the avs try to get the cup with McKinnon I doubt he’ll go to his childhood team 😂😂😂
If Crosby wants to win another cup before he retires it will have to be out of Penguins. Penguins need a rebuild and it will take years which Crosby does not have.
No team. Retired is the best bet at this stage of career. Won everything already. Nothing else to regret about. Time to enjoy last thing in life is enjoy life.
If he goes anywhere and wants to win. It would be Edm or Col, so he can win. The other Canadian teams have done anything but. May as well stay in pitt if you think Tor or Mon is a legit destination-Homer's 🙄
If Crosby wants another Cup he'll have to take a shot elsewhere. If he stays, his career will end with a whimper, skating off into the sunset. If he's fine with that, all the best to him.
I can't see Sidney Crosby staying for a rebuild, option 1 plays in Colorado with MacKinnon, 2 goes to a wild card team like Nashville with Stamkos, or 3 Florida panthers for a repeat cup run.
Though I would love to see Sid in a Habs jersey in reality will not happen, then again I do not see him ending his career in Pittsburgh playing for the loser Dubas , clearly Crosby is not happy with Dubas
