I came for the Neebs, I stayed for the Simon.

I go through this from time to time. The reason why I forget is because I don't care to remember. Once I care about something then I will remember. There is nothing stupid when it comes to remembering something in a game. Simon, your all right in my books old fella, and so play games just for the fun, and experience, and if you forget who cares, just enjoy yourself!

I'm very much like you Simon. I have never had good memory. I was diagnosed now at 47 with brain fog. I think it's worse but who knows. The main thing is that you try to remember even if it's frustrating. You are still fun as hell to watch and listen to.

Simons gaming memory haze is too funny. Remember his 7dtd ceiling blade trap decapitation death "Simon press space bar!!!"....he didn't even hesitate...😅😅😅

Simon becoming a popular gamer, Is like Jed Klampett accidentally shooting an oil deposit. So he doesn't put much effort into it mentally.

One thing that I do and that might help simon would be rebinding keys. I used tab for my inventory in Rust originally, and I got very used to it, so in every game since I have been rebinding my inventory key to tab.

Simon to help you remember what buttons do what, Take your keyboard (or buy a new one) and look at the controls of the game and what ever buttons have no use, take them off the keyboard. So when your brain goes “hit tab” you’ll go “I don’t have a tab button so that’s not it”.

I know exactly what simon is dealing with. I cant hold information for more than a few minutes, it makes "normal" life almost impossible. I have to keep a journal of everything i think about just so i can tell my doctors and social workers without forgetting. Dont feel bad about having a poor memory simon because there are more people than you can imagine with the same problems. Im on your side buddy! Keep moving forward and tell everyone else to piss off!

Another game Simon might enjoy is "Goose Goose Duck" it has more roles/abilities

Give Simon an RGB keyboard with per key RGB and make a profile for each game so only keys used in that game are lit up. It's a little tedious to set up but that may help him remember or something. Maybe different colours can mean different things?

I hope my memory is as good as Simon's when I'm 147 years old like he is.

I know how it feels Simon somewhat.. I can barely remember my childhood past and memories with my children and I'm only 27. I quickly flare up in anger when I forget a simple object like where I place my wallet and can't find it for life of me. I have to replay the whole game to relearn to controls and keybinds if I dont play the game in a couple of months and it causes me to forget people's name that I dont regularly have contact with. I feel this Simon..

What about something like a Corsair Keyboard for Simon, that in each game lights up the keys you use with a particular color? Basically an Avid editing keyboard but for gaming.

Simon is like watching my dad play. My dad is a tradesman, likes to work with his hands and build stuff. However, when it comes to technology, keyboard, xbox, phone, he is slower than average. Maybe their brains are wired different from the tasks that they have done for many years?

Don't worry Simon, there are others out there like you and we all feel how you do. I myself am one, and I know the frustration of doing something and forgetting it not long after. Many times I've been in trouble with friends cause I forget what a button does or what something is called in any number of games, no matter how much I play or put effort into. I personally feel that people who have this issue just remember things differently then others. Like your knowledge of carpentry, you sound passionate about that and are able to remember even some of the most obscure details (like patterns and types of design, which i always found informational and insightful). Many find they have these problems in school when they can't remember the simplest stuff like math, yet excell in other subjects like history or literature. In the end I, personally, believe that it comes down to the way our brains are wired, and shouldn't be something we are guilt tripped for. Enjoy y'all, and Simon, keep being yourself buddy!

I think Simon should maybe try using a controller instead of a mouse and keyboard so he doesn't have to remember as many buttons like when he plays Ark | edit : I hadn't gotten to the part where they said Simon doesn't like using controllers but I still think Simon should try controller for at least an episode to see if he might actually like it, you never know

You can rebind keys on almost every game. Just change the keys to do the same type of thing across all your games.

We all have a Simon in our group! They are the ones that make us laugh. That make the game so much more fun and amusing. And they’re always missed when they’re not there. I don’t think that there is a learning disability behind it. Mostly because I think their heads are in the clouds and there’s much more important things on there minds.The Simon in our group. Always seems to do better after I ask him about his day, Family,work ect. Letting him have time to relax and focus on one thing at a time.This helps his gameplay immensely.I have been watching you guys for so long. But only until just recently I have been listening to the podcast. I am very impressed with the topics and, conversation that you guys have with each other it’s very entertaining and still with the humor that I have grown to love about you all. Man I feel for Simon, my head just doesn't wrap around some games or things I "should" be doing in them. Also I always thought my recording sessions were short, but when you guys said 1.5 to two hours I felt so much better. Love what you guys do and look forward to seeing you all take on Dead by Daylight.

Simon, I love you and wouldn’t have you change a thing; you do you, buddy. The main reason I love this channel is because it brings that authenticity that others can’t hope to replicate, and you’re a big part of that; sure, these other channels, and this one, for the most part, has pro gamers, and that’s all fine, but it gets boring and we need that spontaneity that only you can bring. Also, Simon is a lot like my step dad with games; you have to really explain everything to him over and over. I would absolutely support you guys doing a full on movie; Hell, I’d be willing to donate some money towards it.

I just bought a keyboard that allows you to customize the backlights of each individual key. You can customize the lighting per game. I wonder if allowing Simon to color code his keys could be useful. When he looks down the map, inventory, and other buttons would all be the same colors across games. EDIT: Btw, I'm a Software Engineer if you need someone to prototype or consult for your software ambitions 🙂

I doubt anyone will read this. But since this a common struggle people have, I'll put out my own input. I get what Dora is getting at when he's saying "you don't care to remember this thing." I have an issue that can be best described on that line. It's not that I don't think something is worthwhile to learn or remember. It's just that my brain has a strict sense of prioritization when it comes to information; and I don't always have a conscious say in that. I have to REALLY convince myself that something is important before I can really learn anything from it. Not to bore people with dum-dum-philosophy: But I believe that the ideals for "mind" and "heart"- even though technically they're both thinking concepts in the brain- come from knowing that our bodies and consciousness aren't always in sync.

Simon, please don't change. You're one of reasons I love Neebs Gaming. All of you have such distinct styles and personalities and that's what makes this work.

It is not an easy game but it is the Most Addictive FPS game I've ever played in my life ( after dying a lot!) I need the Community to get this seen! Simon's an actor just like all the other members, he acts stupid in some games then plays normal in others so yes hes faking, you all do it. Then again damn near all the series you guys do on here are fake which isn't a bad thing because its entertaining but its being done so poorly in places that it breaks the episode, best example are the camera guys spawning in mobs during Minecraft and 7d2d (5-6 mobs in a house that are all the exact same kind or a bathroom full of rabbits.....seriously) or starting A19 already at max level and "Magically" getting rank 6 tools on day 1 when the whole point in A19 was the change to progression and every time someone says something you guys just make fun of it and spit in the face of the people who play the games for what they really are and don't cheat it. This is a show, it may not be scripted, but its a show none the less and we just want you guys to be honest and stop bullshitting us and treating us like were stupid.

I don't think Simon is faking bc I'm a 12 year old gamer and I play alot of games and even I forget the controls so just leave Simon alone and let him do his thing

People ask me a lot if I'm faking my stupidity or lack of focus when gaming sometimes. Short answer is no. Long answer is I took a massive head injury in a car accident a few years ago. It left me with focus and short term memory issues. Point is, you never know what can be causing things. Pays not to judge, there's often a logical explanation....

I dont understand why you guys are making it harder on yourselves, most if not all games have an option to rebind keys, so for example, yall can make TAB open the inventory on every game you play, F1 aways toggle the hud on and off and etc. It takes a little bit to set it up but then it makes all the rest easier forever.

Don't worry Simon. Most of us are like that in some way but just don't recognize it. When I was in engineeering school I'd study for hours, then wake up the next day and not remember most of it. My peers would literally just attend lectures and play ps4 when they got home and be fine. I got really frustrated and started to feel inferior to my peers. Then one day we had a practical test requiring you to wire and trouble shoot electrical circuits. I briefly studies some notes while my peers were cramming hours before. I finished the test with 20 mins to spare, got full marks, while a few of my peers struggled to complete it. There was even a very smart guy on a scholarship who was trying to get my help during the exam. So everyone has there strengths and weaknesses. No insult to the rest of the crew, but maybe if you took them to a construction site to work with you, some of their weaknesses would be exposed.

Nope most games I'll use a controller. Depends on what game I am playing as well.vthe mouse is a bit more accurate and maybe faster for aiming but is also very sensitive. Fps Ima using them sticks

I'm bad at games too, but my brother still tolerates me and plays games with me. its about having fun, and for these dudes, its about delivering hilarious content, and if i say so, they succeed.

Respect on ad choice! Maybe I'm a bit biased. Seatbelts saved two of my children's life during a crash. Being against drinking and driving (especially the illegal drunk that hit them) is the only thing better in that regard.

Wow! 4 minutes listening and I thought you guys would reveal Simon's medical history but it sounds like nobody really has a clue what's going on, after all these years! This is not really in my scope of practice since my focus is physical therapy but I'm pretty sure Simon has a legit cognitive problem. It's not only memory. Logic, focus and repetition are challenges too. There are a myriad of things that could be the cause of this: trauma, disease, et cetera. It can be addressed. He needs to see a speech pathologist or an occupational therapist. Start with seeing your GP doc and get a referral. 13 minutes in and it sounds like you are giving good hints for your therapist to work with. Please act on this because it could help you. Good luck.

Simon sounds like he is suffering from either a major concussion or many smaller ones. I wonder if he played football or did boxing when he was younger? Either-way, Simon should try a Fisetin therapy(2,000 mg a day, two times a week, with two to three weeks off, after you finish a bottle). After three rounds of Fisetin therapy, it cured a major concussion and restored a chunk of my memory that I couldn't access. Also, the "anxiety" that Simon speaks about could be caused by a concussion. Fisetin can cross the blood brain barrier, and help's to remove scar tissue. Also, Simon could have a low level mold infection. Once your exposed, it doesn't go away unless your treated. Mold poisoning can cause laziness, brain fog, and anxiety. So Simon should try Fisetin+garlic pills, coupled with Collagen, Biotin, Vit A,B and D, Zinc, and other Vitamins and supplements vital for cell development and function.

gonna be upfront with you. often wondered this myself, cause in certain games (most of them really) i find myself asking if someone can possibly be that dumb... working on a team that plays games for a living... making videos about it, screwing up most if not all of the things he does. with that said... i love you simon. Neebs? eeeh. rest of the team kinda holds that guy up. (my perspective AND my opinion) still, Neebs Gaming has become a staple of home entertainment every week here, and i hope it continues.

Simon should stop drinking alcohol for a whole month and then see how his mind works with the gameplay.
