Let’s be real. The only people who like this game are those who haven’t played Black Flag.

This game doesn’t have a single mechanic that is better than black flag. 😢

The fact that YOUR PIRATE...cannot board, swordfight, shoot guns, or brawl.... makes this an absolutely pathetic pirate game. What a phenomenal waste of time and resources.

I was trying to enjoy this game from day one and have played well over 300 hours in it, but all I do is repeat the same “missions” of delivering stupid goods, or running in circles to collect my pieces of eight or make money or goods to fund them. I have all 76 settlements at level 10 and it’s pretty much 40k to fund each one. I’m so freakin bored of this game. I don’t even care that I’m in the top of the seasonal leaderboard, what is even the point? I didn’t expect a better version of Black Flag, but this feels like a mobile game, not a console game. Why is it that our capabilities of making better games is here, but all we get is half-cooked games with a million micro-transactions and no substance? Why are games from 10-15 years ago better overall, more thought out, you name it. Just take the formula of Black Flag and make something like that. Christ, my guy can’t even run! And godforbid I pass a NPC bc then I move even slower 🙄🙄🙄🙄 And does anyone else feel like the wind is purposely blowing against them constantly in this game? How annoyingly frustrating this disappointment of a “sequel to Black Flag” this game is.

I played the first closed beta with the obnoxious watermark and was annoyed by that. Then i played the second beta which was a bit better without all the lines on screen. Then i got bored before my beta time limit was even up. I had gotten my second ship and some upgrades on it and realized the whole game is fetch quests and cutting trees and bashing rocks while grabbing some random scraps while roaming around uninteresting open water. The game is boring as can be and Ubisoft should be ashamed to even call this a AAA let alone "AAAA" game (whatever that means). This game is just, bad, even by some past Ubisoft standards. Too many cooks were in the kitchen on this one.

Why would anyone choose to play this over Black Flag??😶

People i know it's difficult, but it's not black flag, accept this and you can have tons of fun (bought it for half the price, 70€ is a joke, but for 30€ is good) i already put in more then 50h and still having fun!

Dear Ubisoft, I would donate a kidney for a black flags 2 that had only a new map containing some islands and broken masts where you dive.. you could throw in a new story sure.. but you could use those ps4 graphics as they did for skull and bones obviously and the save money by using the same fighting style ships used.. I’d ride on the same ship.. I wouldn’t care. Just ABSOLUTLY NO having to look for materials like wood and nails.. and for the love of GOD do not install stamina bars for the ship., just same exact thing as black flags just a new map.. please and thank you.. it’s all anyone ever wanted..

I thought it would be better than blackflag. I feel like I got scammed out of $70. And I normally love Ubisoft games. I hope they lose alot of money from this release, but they likely wont because they havent invested anything in it to begin with 😂

I didn't play black flag, or this game but really your entire review is comparing this game to black flag. Can you review it as it's own standalone game and tell us what's bad without comparing it to other games? It's like saying zelda sucks because link doesn't shoot a bow like alloy.

i have now 60 hours...and yea , avoid thegame for 1 or 2 years , buy it in a sale and hope for the best , it have potential ,.devs are fast with patches and hotfixes
