Thank You Henry, I was totally bombed last year after finally building my followers then Anchor went totally cold for a moment and i was a bit discouraged. I recently started re-recording and prayerfully will be able to get monetized in the next few months, I was so happy to see that you have still been updating us on RU-vid, and definitely excited to jump on and see a recent video from you. Super Excited!🙂🙂💖
I’m so glad you’re back at it! My next goal is to really find out how to make money outside of monetization. If you really wanna build a business, it’s just doesn’t seem like the most dependable way to do it.
Beautiful. I have always loved Anchor before Spotify bought it over. Now that you have shown us this exposé please can you teach me? I will like to learn from you podcasting
Hi Henry thanks for the informative video. I am looking at starting my podcast on Spotify for podcasters so this has helped me in making my mind up. Im in the U.K & wondering if the 50-100 downloads before you can monetise applys and also did you have to do any marketing to have your podcast discovered on anchor to the success it is currently now or did people just discover it on the site with time as you put episodes out? Sorry for the long winded questions but just very curious. cheers 😊
My understanding is that it’s still only in the US we could monetize. I have not done any external advertising, all the growth has come from people discovering the podcast through the platform they listen to podcasts on
@@HenryGRU-vid Thanks for the reply Henry .So the question is does it even make sense for someone in the U.k to use spotify for podcasters? I mean monetizing isn't the B all and end all for me and I expect to put a lot of work in before doing so but that is the direction I want to take my podcast & one of my goals. I really want to use spotify for podcasters but I don't know if it makes more sense to use pod bean or buzz sprout even though the entry rate to monetize is much higher and at the end of the day spotify for podcasters is free but if it doesn't monetize (Outside the U.S.) It may be pointless for me & my goals. confusion!?! Cheers again for your reply :)
@@bobbybones6631I was looking for my partner (we are based in the UK too) and you can get some sort of monetize from them This is from their website: Podcast Subscriptions: Have published at least two episodes, are located in a market where Podcast Subscriptions are available, and have at least 100 listeners on Spotify within the last 60 days. Listener Support: Have published at least two episodes, are located in the US, and have at least 100 listeners on Spotify within the last 60 days. Automated Ads: This program is currently available in the US, UK, and Australia on an invite-only basis.
Hi How did you make money ? through their ads? through subscriptions? it's frustrating as I have have a popular podcast but I reside in Canada and am not eligible. I am for podcast subscriptions and may have to go that route. I also found some private sponsors on my own.
Thank you for your explanation. After switching to Spotify for podcasting, someone hacked my account and changed my email address. I couldn't access my own account. Spotify customer support chat responded quickly and resolved the problem. However, I asked about 2FA to prevent this issue from occurring again, and they told me that there was no such thing. There is no additional security feature to secure your Spotify Podcaster account. Are you kidding me? In this age and time? Spotify for podcasters is a no no. I am moving to BuzzSprout.
I’ve been hoping to get monetized on Spotify for Podcasters. Although I don’t have a huge amount of downloads, unfortunately even with 16 Spotify followers, it tells me I’ve only had 2 out of the 100 unique Spotify listeners so far. I’ve tried contacting them, but they were just like we think it’s accurate and also just check again in 24 hours or something. So I’m hoping this changes as I’m still pretty far off 😅 lol
@@HenryGRU-vid Yeah, sounds good. Some people were complaining on a Reddit thread about Spotify taking over and how ridiculous the new requirements are. But, I don’t really have any other options that I’ve seen for monetization anyway at this point, so just going to stick there for now
Hey Henry! Just found your channel and feeling inspired. Do you know if Ambassador Ads work on Spotify video episodes? I have ads inserted, but can't seem to confirm that they are showing up in the video episodes. Any knowledge to share is appreciated!
The last I heard it does not work on video. Which is one of the main reasons I wasn’t doing video. Do the automated ads do work on video though if you’re in that program.
It’s normal for a host to take a percentage of what you make from advertising. But when they were communicating with me, and telling me how much I would make, it seemed as if the 50% was already taken out from the number they gave me. But it wasn’t.
Also to make money outside of monetization, I would suggest Supercast and Apple subscriptions. I run a premium channel on both and offer bonus episodes and ad free listening. The Apple subscriptions works well because it just involves signing up on the app, a couple of clicks. Really easy and then Supercast covers the other platforms.
@@HenryGRU-vid mine is about 6 percent so far but the longer I have consistently stuck with it, the subscribers have grown. Apple got me more subscribers way quicker than Supercast because essentially its people subscribing to an app.
Yes, you can still make money. There’s no guarantee how long the ambassador ad will last. But they also have the regular ads and that would ideally continue forever.
Yes, but you have to get loads of downloads to make some spare change. I've had several thousand downloads over the last few months....and it has racked me a whopping 100$ 😂😂..
Someone knows when the rest of the countries outside US will be able to monetize in anchor? Do you have another option besides anchor to monetize in Spain?
As of right now, I don’t. But my number one goal right now is to figure out how to make money outside of ad monetization. Because it’s just not dependable enough.
A lot of the monetization requirements are US only. Do you know if its worth me using Spotify for podcasters in Australia or is there a hosting platform that might be better? Thanks!
