The Monkey D Luffy and Yamato starter decks are coming out in a few days. Let's go over the new leaders and any notable cards in the decks to see if it's worth it to pick these up

I feel like Yamato would have benefitted immensely from being yellow/green. All the lists I see running them is just a big mom pirate deck with a yamato leader

When I started playing OPTCG I saw the Film Starter Deck and bought it immediately because Shanks was the Leader. Now I'm hoping one day they'll release a playble Shanks Leader (T^T) I'm buying those two for collection too, and because there's a Shanks, I'm simple

One thing to note about Black Leader Luffy is his effect isn't once per turn, so if you can clear a board, Luffy can get really strong

I could have gotten every single deck lolol and I always stared at them. Big mom was the main one I saw tons of...so mad I never bought some. Now I've only been able to buy 6 era packs. Pulled an alt art but that's about it. Got luffy leader and eneru leader too. Non alt

I've been pretty consistent about getting two copies of every starter deck but I think I'll just get one copy of these. Having more options is always nice.

I love the yamato deck it becomes a good counter to red deck in mid to late game since your turning yourself into a mini whitebeard

Really sad the 9c Yamato was not in the starter deck. The SRs are awful and would've helped make it somewhat reasonable to pick up

My favorite is bon clay bentham attacking a rested character. If you defend, i use its 1x don effect to ko bentham and that character boosting leader luffy by 2k. Lol. One way to utilize Shanks is using the 1 cost guy that lowets 2 cost then bring out shanks. Shanks KO both sides of the field so theres at least 1k boost on luffy for bring out shanks...i took him out for a kingkong gun luffy though.

I sadly agree 100% with your opinion. The Yamato Deck will get soo much more value when a Green/Yellow Wano Leader releases.

@@Spartanjohn99No because anyone taking a hit from him knows better than to guard. Why bother wasting cards from hand if the end result is your unit dying regardless?

@@applesauceblues6952that may be true but it forces you to not defend or it can be used to get rid of high attack characters. Imagine bentham attacking a 10k rested beatstick and you just watch it die while luffy leader gets 2k boost off of it.

@@TheRyutora it's a 1k guard. It's not going to put in enough work to be usable. Plus it's too easily removed and too slow for the jets. Black I general is unfortunately until set 5
