My only problem from Survivor is like you said the lack of diversity/planets we visit. Fallen Order jumped around several planets so none of them felt samey, but when jumping from koboh to jedah, it’s like do you want to play in grassy rocks or sandy rocks.
You say diversity in fallen order but I found the game was so repetitive which I ended up just getting bored of it. I’m hoping survivor doesn’t feel rinse and repeat.
The biggest thing for me that puts Fallen Order above survivor is level design. I really enjoy FO’s Dark Souls inspired level design. Each planet feels like a level full of secrets and things to explore. Survivor has some of that, but also leans a little too close toward the cliche open world design so many games do these days. I’ve just gotten tired of exploring these huge open environments full of side stuff that I can’t help myself from doing. FO’s tight level design makes it feel much more focused and enjoyable to explore. Secrets feel earned and there’s very little fluff
I liked fallen order better honestly. I loved the story and characters it was just awesome and the combat in survivor also felt really glitchy or clunky it was weird.
Same. I got me a game pass and I played survivor for about 3 hours and I'm still not sure of this game I don't think I like it enough, fallen order just hit different
@@Viilap😂 why do people constantly leave comments that they've given up after an hour to 3 hours and they haven't even seen Harley any of the game to understand you let these videos decide for you don't think for yourselves and I just think it's a bit silly you should think more for yourself and not be so worried about wasting your time and just enjoy trying out different games. There's a good video that came out about this when it comes to deciding what to play and honestly it's more about your mental health and your time to unwind then finding the best game to play it's not always about the best of the best because there is no such thing and very rarely there's truly a 10 out of 10 game out there. And I think at that point if you really feel like it's a waste of time then maybe you should spend your time doing other things than gaming if they feel that much of a waste of time to an individual. I also found fallen order very boring myself it's a cool metroidvania in some aspects but it's very generic there isn't a lot to unlock the skill tree is very shallow the traversal upgrades aren't anything very interesting especially when you played a lot of other metroidvania games. And I don't know what people mean when they say more diverse plans because I found order less diverse than most games I mean the very fact that there isn't much of life to begin with beyond some creatures to fight and other NPC types. They had some pretty environments and maybe to that is what stood out and make people think it's more diverse than it actually is.

i thought they were pretty easy i just thought those force tears were awefull like i would rather get a side quest to then fight a hidden boss then do some copy pasted time trial those are just lazy in my opinion
Fallen order was a fun game. Really good. Played it twice and 100% the game. I got JS 2 weeks ago and i cant put it down. It has improved on everything in FO. The only complaint i have is there is no battle grid. But i didnt spend a whole lotta time in battle grid anyways, unless i wanted to practice against bosses to prepare for grandmaster. JS was a harder game, had better combat, more varied combat, varied enemies, the story is excellent and really got me in my feels. I avoided spoilers like the plague. And i wasn't that excited for a sequel when i played FO. But now i daydream about the third installment. Hunting bounty hunters was super fun. And the force in FO was nearly useless. I ran out of force so often i would spend precious minutes cornering a single scout trooper so i could perfect dogde and build my force meter back up, just to barely do anything meaningful with it especially since the bosses arent that effected by it. In JS i have so many options and the lightsaber combat is so much kore satisfying that if i run out i can build it back up without thinking about it. I hope the next installment doesn't have so many travel mechanics to learn. At most, maybe a super jump. I just wanna see more planets and i wanna take down a star destroyer
I honestly wish we could get a dlc expansion for Survivor with another planet or something. Aside from technical issues and wishing for a bit more planet diversity, those are really my only complaints. I played through Fallen Order twice, on master and Gm, and am still working my way through the game now on Gm, there's just so much cool stuff for a SW zealot like I am. The combat flow, the enemies, the parkour (holy hell some of the best challenge in places like those tears), the saber and other customizations, the buildup of the outer rim town and seeing the saloon grow, the new lore in the story, just wow. I really do adore it.
@@rover5058 Man I hate to say… but I haven’t played Survivor after I beat it twice. JFO for whatever reason I felt compelled to keep playing, and I beat the story 5 times.
i still felt that the variety of planets in fallen order was better than survivor, regardless of size I liked the constant changes in setting that made the galaxy feel vast, jumping back between jedha and koboh just feels boring, and there's nothing to do on tanalorr, nova garon, or coruscant after you've been to them once during the story, also the plot of this game felt less focused on cal than the previous game, I much prefer fallen order's story
The gameplay feels better in Fallen Order too. Jedi Survivor tries too hard to be like GOW/DMC. Fallen Order focused merely on that Sekiro/Soulslike experience.
I disagree with everyone’s take on the stance limit giving you a “build” that’s just artificial player expression, and it’s dumb. Being able to fully utilize all the stances would have made combat so much better but now us players that want to use it have to soak in shit because people want to limit themselves for some reason, and if you really do then just only use two stances then like I don’t get the thought process here
@@justinnieves2520 or you can just main two stances anyways considering you won’t ever have enough skill points to max them out in a regular playthrough unless you grind. And besides, your only argument for a huge gameplay mechanic being butchered is “replay value”? I don’t think the ends justify the means
I know everyone likes survivor better, but I think I like fallen order a bit better. The planets have very different environments, which I think is better than one big planet. There is only 2 stances you can really use, but you can customize things like the mantis which you can’t in survivor. I think story was so much stronger and better in the first game, and I really liked the meditation training in the first game, such as the battle grid, which survivor doesn’t have.
@@rover5058 eeh id say its a 6/10 for surviver because of the horrible pc launch and the fact that it is 140 gigabytes it doesn't look that much better than fallen order in my opinion and you get abbout the same ammount of playtime from both like i had expected with that size that we woulve gotten like 6 huge planets to explore all the size of koboh but nope the force tears were very lazy in my opinion like i didnt get much fun out of those most were very janky or infuriating and not forgetting that it were time trials when there werent any leaderboards or anything like that also fallen order has some decent mod support one of the first things i did was model swap cal to luke skywalker with his black jedi robes and hood because those ponchos were fuck ugly and i never wanted to be reminded of those damn things
well most of the fallen order customization was just collor swapping wich is some of the laziest customization you could think of in a game like most of the customization in survivor is better in my opinion and like the mantis is something you mostly only see from the inside soo why would someone even change the collor of it when you barely see it and cant even fly the thing for missions
Love Fallen Order story way more. I actually missed a lot how Cal move in the first game even tho people might think it was slower, I really missed the more human/jedi approach of it. Compare to Survivor where he seems to be some sort of god superman or something.
I’ve played through fallen order twice and surviver once. I’ve actually been lucky and haven’t had any performance problems or glitches at all. I do wish there were more planets and stuff. But I actually enjoyed most of the parkour in surviver over fallen order. My main problem with Fallen Order’s parkour was that it was repetitive and got boring quickly for me. Because of the complexities of Surviver it keeps me more engaged in it. And when ever I’ve failed at a segment it was my fault and not the game and it tells me that I can still improve (at least in my experience. Like I said I haven’t had any problems so far). I loved the first game and I feel that Surviver is a great sequel to build off of its predecessor. I have more fun with more complicated mechanics but do get frustrated at times when I’m not good enough with a mechanic yet.
Jedi Survivor has the same amount of replayability as Fallen Order but the current state of the game is unplayable still. Yesterday i started replaying Jedi Survivor and after a few patches it's still unplayable. I wonder if EA is going to be able to push it at a stable 60 fps on performance mode or atleast 55 by the time the game is on sale.
The zipline one took almost a half hour for me, just getting the movement and timing right to do each stage. Crazy difficult, but was never too infuriating for me at least. Felt like a badass to complete it.
id rather have the devs make a worthwile side quest than that they toss in some lazy copy pasted time trial that takes me out of the immersion of the game

I've just beaten Jedi Survior. I was really hyped for the game since Fallen Order was one of my favorite games. In general I think Fallen Order is a better game for me because it was a tighter experience. A lot of new stuff in Survivor is just barely scrachting the surface of the mechanincs. Like combat, traversal or mounts. Basicaly no enviroment interaction in combat or out of combat is weird to me, since it's a 2023 release. Mounts are almost pointless. And what about that big bird on Koboh. It literaly does nothing(I expected a boss fight at least). Story is also a bit clunky. Bode twist came almost with no hints. I expected some kind of betrayel to spice it up a bit. But it was a huge miss for my taste. Stances were ok I agree sometimes you could feel the difference. I liked heavy and blaster stance the most. But the skill tree was a bore. Every weapon got a simiral upgrade so the more you level the stances really do the same thing. I had fun, don't get me wrong but I expected more. Not even going into the poinless visual chests, gardening and designing your own saber(you can't really see those details when you play).
I actually found that this was probably a good amount of tools for transversal and usage around the game. Personally I found that I didn’t like the amount and variety of tools in Arkham knight as apposed to this game
I have played the 2 games, and such a better experience in Jedi Survivor, in every aspects : Gameplay is better, Cal Kestis is now a real man with beard, more customization with clothes. Story is good for the 2 games I think, but in survivor its more epic I think. The staging is better, and the passage with Merrin and the portals really blew me away. jedi survivor has much more diversity in its environments than fallen orden : Yes, jedi fallen order has more different planets, but each planet has the same environment everywhere. Koboh has several zones, each with its own atmosphere. The first is the canion zone, followed by the far-western city zone. Then there's the all-rock zone, the lava zone with the abandoned building high up, where there's a lot more verticality. There's the jungle, and also the mountainous area with the fog, and when you come out of the fog and discover the sun with the air base and see the rest of Koboh from the heights, what an incredible atmosphere. I forget the separatist vessel with the swamp around. The environments in Fallen Order are nice, but too closed in, lacking the magnificent panoramas of Survivor. The diversity of Koboh is already better than all the planets from fallen order. You can ever discover Jeddah and Koboh at diferent time during the story, day and night time. If you add Jedah, the space base, Coruscant and the moon, Survivor is far ahead of Fallen Order in terms of diversity. What's more, the maps are bigger, more vertical and more beautiful in level design. I can''t wait to see what they will do in the third game.
also playing on PC and I hadn't FPS drops since day one. Day one was terrible but now I can play on max settings and it's running smooth, almost as smooth as Fallen Order. Some slow texture loading issues are bothering me but the game is very playable
I don’t know why people complain about bugs and glitches on pc. When there exists a completely fine alternative that costs half as much as a pc and can generally run games better.
I started on Grand Master with Survivor but because of performance issues (PC), finished the game on Story Mode. The enemy combat design and kill animations are amazing in Survivor however they changed the player combat animations, for example (on Grand Master) the block animation is held for 1-2 seconds when you let go of block, evade animation is not great and got rid of roll. When enemies are fast, the player animations should match. JFO has the best player combat of any game I have ever played. Performance of the game and player combat need to be hand in hand and top priority. Quality over Quantity.
That's really interesting, I didn't know the enemy animations are sped up on higher difficulties, I just thought the AI was more aggressive. I might have to test this!
I prefer Survivor very slightly. While Fallen Order is better in atmosphere and has Battle Grid, I think Survivor improves on almost every aspect the first game had. I bought it way after its release, though, so I didn’t experience any bugs
Survivor definitely ran better, it runs worse on PC, but I played both on console and I only experienced frame drops once in a while in survivor. Jedi fallen order worked great but the talking audio got desynced a lot from the mouth movements. I experienced a bug where collision didn’t load in a certain area of dathomir, right before the huge doors and I had to do some extremely precise parkour to get to the door.

Cuz honestly in my opinion I liked Survivor too much not to play it again-but I feel like I should play the first game now cuz I haven’t in a while and I forgot the storyline but also there is some things about the first game that make me never want to play it again-like the fact that the first game doesn’t have fast travel-so literally every planet I visit for the majority of the time exploring creepy ass caves and corridors the farther I go-the more u have to walk back to the Mantis-I fucking hated that shit-for some reason going thru places I’ve already explored in games like this creep me tf out especially when my character is alone and doesn’t have an ally npc-so that’s my number one ick about replaying the first game-the other is just the planet Zeffo in fallen order completely fucking creeps me out-bc every time u visit zeffo ur mostly going back into that bigass creepy ass icy cave system or to that one creepy ass abandoned ship-and those goddamn creepy ass spider enemy types on Kashykk-god fucking damn-almost everything about Fallen Order creeps me out for some reason-call me Greez-but oddly enough I still think the storyline to Fallen Order is lowkey better than Survivor or at least more appealing-and that’s why I wanna replay that shit
Story feels way more cohesive in Fallen Order. It's very simple and archetypical but it doesn't trip over itself and the characters all get used and developed well with a great development arc for Cal. Survivor has a really clumsy story which feels like it was written by Kenobi style writers. Characters don't tend to get used very well and nothing really felt impactful (even Cere's death and Bode's betrayal) because motives are all over the place and the story fails to really flow. In terms of combat Survivor is the better game on paper but something happens when you play on GM where it seems that enemy aggression just becomes way too overtuned with animations and movements feeling really un natural for a lot of them. Mixed with an inability to animation cancel on your end and everything feels sluggish. I dont know if they sped up thr animations for the enemies but it feels jerky. Fallen Order has been my benchmark for a really solid fundamental experience for a videogame since 2019 and Survivor builds on certain aspects and goes backwards in others.
Perfect take. GM on Survivor is unfairly balanced and takes too long to get over the hardest hurdles. And Master difficulty feels far too easier than GM. No good middle between them.
Story wise I didn't like the intro. It felt like a rehash of SOLO. Survivor being tied to the High Republic was a buzz kill. There was no reason to tie it to the least successful parts of the IP but I can only imagine what Respawn had to incorporate into the game on behalf of the Disney people...
Honestly when i finished SWJS and play more about 50 hrs i love it but!!!! i go back for SWFO and play it again last night, i feel like Fallen Order is better it's bc just the performance, it's give 144 fps and play it without mod still good to playing i trying in grand master (soul player) and it bc of it so smooth at epic setting some of the detail that are better even the gameplay of SWJS is much better but the performance is really far away from it. It's sad that the game can feel like it's unfinished so i think it's cannot to compare to each other at the first place SWFO is not good as performance as well but bro i love it both .
Fallen order has better planets, way better story, better characters, better enemies. Survivor has better customization, lightsaber combat, and graphics
i played forced unleashed 1&2 straight after completing FO and survivor and i had way more fun in the short few hours in unleashed than spending 50 hours in those bloated new games it's like they find it impossible to make a star wars game small, focused and fun, now we have outlaws coming soon another bloated star wars game........and i'm just saying Starkiller is way cooler and powerful than carrot top Cal.
I just finished Survivor. I'd say I had a better time in FO, without going too in depth. It must be noted tho that I played survivor on PC and, very unfortunately, it runs very very badly. The game looked blurry, with ugly textures at times, pixelated and the crashes just killed a lot of fun I could have had. When I finished Survivor, I was just glad I did. When I finished FO, I still wanted to play it, and I was truly satisfied. I also personally prefered FO's worlds. They felt more diverse, and the temples really felt ancient and majestic. The Zeffo felt more intriguing, mysterious and more interesting than the hidden planet Tanalorr. I'll probably give Survivor another shot once it is properly patched, and I don't think it'll be in the next month yet...
we the the same here actually SWJS is much better at gameplay but the performance can't make it feel fun all along the game just that about the performance i can say FO is more enjoyable but i love all the stuff in SWJS as well.

To me its just dissapointing to pay 70 euros for a 130 gb game which only takes about 40 hours for a 100% playthrough. I really like the customisation of survivor, but at the end, it changes nothing in terms of how you play the game. Dont forget that this comes from someone who has only had framedrops when using the holotable on the mantis on pc. If I would have had constant issues while playing the game, there really is no arguing in favor of survivor.

I found the traversal pretty tiresome by the end of the game you spend more time traversing than fighting and it doesn’t feel like a Star Wars game feels like I’m doing more traversing than uncharted and its killing my interest to go back and do a replay of the game
Both games suck on a way no roads apparently were build on both games which doesn’t make any fckkng sense in glad Ubisoft add roads maybe EA can learn that
Fallen Order is better. Im playing it right now. it's smaller but more inspired, the story is better, the characters are better. While I enjoyed Survivor it gave me the impression of a rushed game, done with less love, not to mention that today, in February 2024 is still broken.
One thing in Jedi: Fallen Order's corner, at least to me, is the platinum for that game is not even a fraction as rage inducing as Jedi Survivor. Achieving Survivor's platinum trophy hollowed me out, the game and it's shit performance and bad platforming and encounter designs in the Force Tears and priorite locations literally drank my soul like a Capri-Sun.
You guys must be on meth because Survivor is just superior in every aspect. Fallen Order has unskipable cutscenes, too many slow sections, boring puzzles, weak enemy variety, weak platforming and less deep combat. Survivor has deeper combat, better enemy variety, is more fast paced, incredible replay value and just god like platforming.
Fallen order for me is absolutely better. The combat is way more responsive. The parry and dodges feel super smooth a great which is so important. I love the bigger look fallen order has. Yes fallen order is more zoomed in with the camera but it feels like it has more realistic movements (as much as it can be for a jedi). Survuvor i feel like im playing a minature verision of call thats quick and agile. Fallen order its smooth flowy, not as quick but still nimble slightly. For me fallen order had more curosity to the game. Survivor having more of an open world was cool but after beating it the story felt really short. And the bosses were underwhelming even though they were more powerful. The way characters were introduced in fallen order was crazy merin, and that sith dude, the haxian brood, was a dope side thing. There was so much to the story that felt starwars like. Also survivor everything around me felt dead. Remote desert like places or a moon that is also like a desert
Are you kidding me dude there was so much platforming in order it was just absurd because you don't even get cool traversal upgrades like you do in survivor for a metroidvania aspect I found those aspects very generic and basic. People enjoy platforming when it's actually cool to do and you actually get things to make it more fun and this game does that so I don't know what you mean. Maybe you're not real gamer if platforming bothers you that much.
Maybe it’s cause I played the game months after it’s release but I’m on PS5 and I haven’t had any performance issues. I think maybe there was audio issues but that’s about it and even then I don’t remember for sure
He's come that 1 makes no sense. Because in July fallen ordered, you are able to use BD1. And confuse the robots And have them work for you, and then. Also, you could do that every single securely Droid
I got Fallen Order second hand last week and finished it 100%. Love the simplicity of it but I need more so even if survivor wasn't as good I still want to play it.
I own both games. Currently playing fallen order. Ive put about 16 hours into it so far and im having a blast even if the puzzles make my brain hurt. Im excited to see where cals journey takes me.
Having played them back to back, Survivor is far superior for my tastes. The exploration is more rewarding for me (I found Koboh and Jedha to be far more exploration friendly than any part of Fallen Order, in the sense of making me want to wander around and see what was in any given corner), the characterization is better (especially with Cal), there's more stuff to do, I like having other characters to interact with a bit and have the side quests/rumors point you in a given direction. Fast travel makes it so that getting to areas is a lot easier, rather than replaying the same obstacle course again. And I found the exploration puzzles a lot more intuitive than Fallen Order - especially in terms of where to go. Oh, and the minimap - while still having issues - is much better. Fallen Order does have a bit more of a 'movie' feel, in that following the main storyline works quite nicely narratively at making it feel like you're in a star wars movie (minus the backtracking to the same locations to continue on from), but Survivor felt pretty close on that regard, and the improvements on the open world parts is a nice enough bonus (at least if it's going to be a major part of the game). Perhaps if I had played it on release I could understand calling Fallen Order the 'quality' side, but at the moment and having just played both for the first time? Survivor is basically better in every way for me.
