Is Staying at EXCALIBUR Las Vegas Really That Bad? 

Excalibur is hella nice for a budget casino. Luxor + Excalibur are lit if you are looking to save money on the room

It’s fun, family friendly. I enjoyed my stay. I’ve stayed at every single hotel on the strip and I had the most FUN at Excalibur.

I haven't watched one of your videos in a minute, but this one caught my attention... I use to come to this hotel with my dad as a kid (we have family in Vegas) and that hotel was my fav place to visit !! Princess Castle ❤

I think for a value hotel it is a great option, especially for a first timer to Vegas or you just want a cheap place on the strip, great location. I think from the outside at night lit up the castle is beautiful.

I just stayed at the Excalibur - Royal Tower in July; Resort Tower in August which was an upgrade from my original reservation. Both rooms were nice. Friendly staff. They have a nice restaurant selection there but EVERYTHING is expensive. TAP Sports Bar was my favorite! Again, expensive but more than enough food and everything tasted great!

I stayed @ The Excalibur in July of 22' for my birthday. I was with two of my sons & one of my son's girlfriend. I paid $32 a night(no resort fees)... (Booked directly through their website) I loved it. The outdoor pool was one of my favorite things. Would definitely stay there again. (The $32 a night rooms went up to $178 a night on the weekend)...

The Centre bar was being built when we were there last October l like TAP but it wasn’t open the two days we were there When did you stay as I have seen some videos that moving walkway isn’t in operation and they put up a wall where the doors are.Liked and subscribed looking forward to seeing some more Jaycation

Excalibur was my first hotel I stayed at when I first started flying. I was the princess of the castle lol. My parents and I walked through there a few months ago.

As MGM Pearl, they comp’ed hotel fee & waive resort fee if I stay at Excalibur. Good budget friendly place. A few days is not bad! Rooms are dated but clean, near everything on the strip! Falls under zone 1 cab cost which increases to zone 2 if u stay across at NYMY or MGM! Buffet good for inexpensive breakfast. Like their latte machine!

I have stayed in both towers and both were clean and nice. The furniture did have some scratches and wear but not horrible. The staff are friendly.

For the first time Vegas travelers that just want to save money & gamble more. I recommend the Excaliber. Lots of fast food will save money. Being in Vegas is the best part and who sits in the hotel room. 🤣

I love The Bur! The Lounge from Thursday to Sunday does karaoke. Now, if you’re into video poker and free drinks, this is the place to be. The new Center Bar is awesome. All bartenders are absolutely amazing. I’m Pearl status and I also get Excalibur and Luxor comped all year, no resort fees. I’ve stayed at Luxor too, and I’ll forever choose Excalibur over the pyramid. If you spend enough time at the video poker machines at the bars, MGM will calculate the time spent gambling and send you offers accordingly. NYNY is also right next door, good place to drink and gamble. Good video Jay !

It’s funny that if you gamble at all they will comp your room any night. The place pays for itself with the gambling alone. I think it’s charming and cute if you have kids. Personally I find it a bit too smoky and don’t think they have any good food options that an adult would really enjoy. Usually I’ll walk through it on my way from NYNY to Luxor but that’s about it.

There's a gas station directly across the street from the Excalibur. Theu have regular prices as well without the walk.

The exterior inside like the casino floor and everything else looks very good however I think the rooms should get a remodel just like ny ny did

When I come from the Central Valley of California to Las Vegas, EVERYTHING looks good including the Excalibur. Las Vegas is so amazing that even some of their “worst” hotels are still AMAZING.

The Excalibur is a bargain while providing a basic room, a casino and a variety of affordable options in their food court. I’ve stayed there 3 times over the years with no negative experiences. Would I stay here anymore? No. For me, the property is too crowded to enjoy, with too many kids hanging around the casino. NY-NY does a better job keeping the children off the casino floor and entertained at their arcade and other kid friendly venues. I don’t know what time you filmed in the Dungeon, but every time I’ve been there it was crowded and had overflowing trash cans at the DQ. The casino is fun, but I can’t handle the smoke. The location, as you pointed out, is poor for buying drinks and sundries. Frankly, Park MGM and NY-NY are not that much more expensive to stay at, unless there are conventions or other events going on. Both those hotels offer better rooms, dining options and casinos, and CVS, ABC Store and Target are right there.

Keep an Amazon Fire Stick with you and if the TV has HDMI plug it in and use their wifi to stream RU-vid TV or whatever you have.

You didn't call to have them unlock the safe? I never found a locked safe in a hotel room. If I did, I absolutely would have wanted to know if anything was in it. Especially in vegas lol.

Hi Jay Jay. Thanks for the review. I went to the buffet in June 2024. Limited selection & in my opinion it's worse than the Luxor🤮. Buca was perfect for a group of 4

Stayed at the Excalibur for the last year's final Pac 12 championship game at the Allegiant. I highly recommend Excalibur if you are looking for a budget hotel/casino near the Allegiant stadium for a game or a show there. Super close and easy to get to, and NY/NY is right across the street for food and entertainment, and two of my favorite places in Vegas are in NY/NY... the dueling piano bar and the nine fine irishmen. At the Excalibur though, I made a mistake of eating at the Buca di Beppo. Food was subpar and expansive, which was dispappointing because one back home is good. And the buffet in Excalibur is great because it's not the best but it has variety of options for around $30 bucks including a continental breakfast style dishes, so it's great for late breakfast or a lunch. For future events near Allegiant, I will stay at the Excalibur.

@Jaycation, Which would you take between this Excalibur and the Tuscany, as these two hotels are about the same distance from the heart of the Strip ?

Stayed there back in the 90s with my cousins just after is was built but don't remember much. I do remember the casino and the moving walkway along with going to Luxor on the connected walkway. I liked it but back then it was all new and we had a good time. I left my phone in this tour bus we took up the Strip and had to run across to NYNY to catch it and get my phone back. Probably a Nokia. haha

I don’t care what anyone says I rather stay at the Excalibur than at any downtown hotel, stayed at the California hotel couple months ago, never again! Excalibur for the price, amenities and location you can’t beat it.

To save money on buying bottle water which you should try is something that I do when I go on vacation. I get a gallon of water from either Walgreens, CVS, or Walmart or something like that and then, I get a smaller bottle that will fit into the Mini fridge, so that I can put it in there and then I take the gallon and put it inside a plastic bag and then fill it with ice so that I have cold water and it saves you at least 50% on buying bottle water while you're there.

The most reasonable place to stay on the strip on NYE!

Wow 😦 The rooms have changed for sure! I stayed there when it pretty much opened, and the rooms had brick-like wallpaper inside, to give it a 🏰castle-like room. The wallpaper / headboard had a huge royal look too. Not seeing that is sort of a shame. I’m surprised at so much of DARKNESS in the hallways and closet too. The original details that are still there, like by the shops, and check-in area ishow the ENTIRE hotel was like before. My last visit there, for a thunder from down under ( I give that a 9 out of 10 😊) about 5 years ago, I noticed how much the hotel changed, and aged from before. Although I would give it a 10/10 for all of the places to shop and see there.

Jay, you’re such a snob 🤣. That place looks great compared to the 1990s. Nice updates to old hotel. The old Dairy Queen tacos & a Blizzard were the best. They always have a lots of new slot machines too. The best part is the cheap taxi rate to the airport. Lol. Since it’s so close. Kids luv the jousting horse show.

I'm in Las Vegas all the time, practically live there, and follow everything Las Vegas for years and I have never heard Excalibur called the "dirty castle" in my life 🤷‍♀️

I stop at the 7-11 on the way to Mandalay Bay from the Airport.

looks better than when I stayed there maybe 12-13 years ago. Mandalay bay by far has been my favourite although far. Park mgm was good too!

Ex and Luxor are the only places I get comp nights so I'm used to staying there

Thanks for the review. Love staying in a nice, fancy hotel but I don't need to stay in a fancy hotel. All I need is a clean room with a working TV, working plumbing and a secure lock on the door. Oh, and a mini fridge. As long as that is available at a good price, preferably free with no resort fee, that's all we need. Man, inflation hit the ABC Store. Instead of $2 now $2.75. Still a good price but dang.

I would stay here if they had random sword fights by people in full armor through out the property.

Great location especially if you’re going to a Raiders or Golden Knights game! It’s obviously a budget spot but I stay there a lot. I don’t need to waste money I can spend on food or gambling just for a more upscale place to sleep!

Yes 😂 I stayed there in May only because it was a really good deal price wise. Moved to Planet Hollywood for the 3rd night…much better.

Great video Jaycation. I stayed here in January 2022 & it wasn't that bad in terms of room quality (though the TV was quite old with very poor picture quality) which allowed me to save some money. I really like the food court area in terms of providing cheap eats & Tap Sports Bar. The only thing that I didn't like was the smoke in the casino area which caused some minor breathing issues for me since I have asthma. Luckily I had my rescue inhaler to relive the symptoms right away. Apart from the smoke, Excalibur is a good place to stay if you are on a budget but don't want to stay at OYO or Circus Circus.

FYI if you are a gold card holder you can go to the gold lounge check in right by the Uber pick up and get free waters and snacks usually like granola bars and stuff like that

It’s ok, acceptable but dated. MGM just milking it for what’s left to get out of it, they are not putting money into it. It’s probably going to be one of the next Casinos to be imploded for a new big mega resort.

screw the ABC.. it's a lot more fun going across the Blvd to the AMPM. Prices are decent and there is usually some UFC worthy fight going on at the fuel station.

Hey. Was just in Vegas. And I saw that machine with the gold coins. I just started collecting those. And they are heavy. There is also another machine in the New York , New York hotel. I will be in Vegas for Christmas and got free comps for Excalibur. I will be bringing my pug and enjoying the holidays. Can't wait.

Unfortunately my last stay wasn’t great. Had a non-smoking room but it reaked of cigarettes constantly. Had headaches the whole time we were there.

While I like the outside of this property I would rather sleep in my car than in the dirty castle . Not too mention too many kids. I’m an MGM resorts fan but only stay at Bellagio or Aria . The table limits are definitely cheaper so gamble there once in a while . 😎😎😎

People put too much stock in rooms in vegas. If you are only going to be sleeping and showering in the room why pay a lot.
