The longest bus ride in the world departure from Brazil - SP and takes you around all neighboring latin american countries. 15000KM in total, 150 cities in its course and it takes 10 days to complete the whole journey.
How would I get from the airport in South Paulo to the tri-border with Paraguay and Argentina? Do the buses have Wi-Fi and a place for me to plug my phone in so that it can charge or would I need to buy myself a data SIM card and bring many power banks?
@@MuzzaHukka The city of Foz do Iguaçu is on the border with Paraguay and Argentina. From São Paulo to Foz do Iguaçu it is approximately 12 hours. There are several bus companies, you can buy a ticket in the bed category for about R$ 350.00. Departures are from the Barra Funda terminal, you will need to take the red metro line. There are apps for purchasing tickets, I don't know if they are in English.
I'm Brazilian and I think it's really cool for a North American to be exploring my country, open to new experiences. Today I do the opposite… I am studying in the United States and open to new experiences and cultures. I wish you success! By the way… I loved the video.
I lived for 14 years in São Paulo (I'm from Rio de Janeiro) and whenever I went to Rio, which was quite often I always went on the sleeper class (in Portuguese it's called "onibus leito"). The trip between São Paulo and Rio lasts 6 hours so I always got the mid-night bus and arrived at my destination at 6;00am. I always considered this option perfect because it was much cheaper than travelling by plane and I always arrived feeling rested.
In Rio it would be 'oniboosssshhhhhh' for sure. Reminds me of my mum who could not speak Portuguese properly. Once she went to the bus station for a sleeper (leito) and said 'Eu quer dois passagem para o LEITÃO para o Rio' (leitão = suckling pig) (Eu quer - my mum could not conjugate verbs in Portuguese)
@@AlinaMcleodMy friend, sorry, this video you made is old, but this channel is to be congratulated!.. like some foreigners, you don't think Brazil is just Rio de Janeiro, this was misinformation from the media, you show the real Brazil.
What a luxury! This bus ride looks amazing and also confortable. Moreover the view from the bus is really nice. Thanks a lot for sharing this beautiful travel by bus. Wish you and family all the best.
Now that's a bus I would love to ride! I once took an overnight "sleeper class" bus in India, and it basically comprised of a wafer-thin mattress and bedsheet. I literally got tossed out of the bed several times throughout the ride lol 😬 Congrats on 160k subscribers! Happy to see rapid growth of your channel in recent days 🙂
@@AlinaMcleod The best part of Florianopolis is the south of the island. It's really beautiful, it has Portuguese architecture, local houses, fishermen... there is a big difference in the water temperature, beaches facing the open ocean are cold and the others have an excellent temperature. If possible do the Lagoinha do Oriente trail, take a tent, there is a super hot lagoon there on the left of the beach, and the cold sea, in addition to a climbing mountain, was my best surprise in the city and it is not so publicized
Oh, that's awesome. I'm South Brazilian and had traveled the country many times by buses, airplanes and motorcycle. Each one gives you different experiences and livings. Glad that RU-vid is recommending that type of content to everyone.
Hi Alina 👋 - That's definitely a smooth 🚌 ride & worth spending 40USD over 20 to arrive at your destination refreshed & ready for a night out. Take Care Alina 🙂

Hi Alina, in "Coxinha" the "x" sounds like the russian "ш". "X" can have 4 different sounds in portuguese. And "j" always sound like "ж". "ge" or "gi" also sounds like "ж" Laranja (orange) = ларанжа Hope this helps! Пака пака
@@CaioFran I should have suspected! Those Russian words that I don't usually see written are always elusive to me. Imagine my surprise when I found out "Хорошо" had 3 "o"s. ))
It once took me 13 hours to from Curitiba to Floripa (due to roadwork and holiday traffic), I would have loved to be in a bus like that! Make sure you check out the Mercado Municipal since you're in the Florianópolis city center, they have super fresh seafood.
I once took *EIGHT HOURS* to go from São Paulo to São Vicente (on the coast, next to Santos) by car. That's just 80 km and would normally take just an hour and a half (counting the traffic within the city before taking the road). It was New Year's Eve and I saw the year change at midnight while I was still descending the slopes of Serra do Mar. We left at 5:30 PM and only arrived in São Vicente at 1:30 AM! Later I read that *2 MILLION* cars were going down to the coast at that time! I swore that I'd never do that again.
What a way to enjoy going from one place to another. That bus was a dream come true, I have seen you travel by bus many times, but this is in another class and you deserved the upgrade you took. When I see you flash your smile, then we know that everything is OK with you. We are glad you took that way to travel, I think we could soak up that trip with no problem. Enjoy your stay there, looking forward to what is coming our way from you, never get tired of seeing and sharing with you, Alina!!! Stay safe and enjoy. Cheers!! 💗👍😊🏆

Detail: Some scenes from the movie "Avengers" "Infinite War 2018 and Endgame 2019" were recorded in "Lençois Maranhenses" due to the beauty of the place. If you are going to visit the "Lençois Maranhenses" take the opportunity and do the "Rota das Emoções" which covers three states in the northeast of Brazil "Maranhão, Piauí and Ceará". With that you know the Lençois Maranhenses, the Delta do Parnaiba and Jericoacoara. Travel companies make a package to visit these three places.
@@silvaa7300 Yes, the scenes of the planet Vormir where the Soul Stone was. Another brazilian place used in a Marvel movie is the Iguaçu Falls, it appears in the post credit scene of Captain America Civil War when they first showed Wakanda. But both scenes are full of CGI and effects it's not easy to see it's a brazilian place.
Cool! Here in Brazil unfortunately we don't have a good sort of public transportations, like trains, and airplanes are very expensive. So, our travels often is realized by bus, and in they are very comfortable in the most part of the country, especially when we can pay for the sleepers one xD. I think BrasilSul is the best bus company that we have in the country

That was a pretty skookum bus you were on. If you've got to be delayed while traveling, it's nice to be comfortable. Which unless you are paying big bucks, you don't usually get. Nice scenery on the drive.
I believe that traveling by bus in Brazil is very safe, it is clear that the biggest problems that usually happen are due to people's lack of care/innocence, such as: taking care of your personal belongings, avoiding using expensive adornments (watches, chains, cell phones), walking down the street with a camera around your neck....
Nice vídeo with usefull information for those who may have some concerns about the safety and local procedures. Congrats and thanks for sharing your experiences.
Cool that 30 years back at least Chile, Argentina and Brazil had those super comfy sleeper buses. Even hot lemon towels for "departure". Alas no wifi back then!
Thats a coincidence! Im on one right now - SP to RJ. Braz buses are great. As I found in Mexico tho, never put bag under your seat and keep valuables with you going to WC
Hello Alina! I'm Marcos Tadeu, 54 years old, I'm from Maceió AL, Brazil, but I live in Rio de Janeiro RJ, BRAZIL... I was delighted with your videos, your easy, practical and beautiful way of narrating your travels... I'm a fan of English language, but I never managed to learn it... Where are you from? Can I keep in touch with you for who knows future exchange? Thank you!
Welcome to Floripa, Aline. The city doesn't look very pretty but its nature's absolutely beautiful. Don't miss the gorgeous beaches even though they're quite far away from the city center. Try ¨Praia Mole" e "Praia do Forte" in the island. There are plenty others over the continent. Have fun!
They're definitely nicer than those in the USA. I travelled from New Orleans to Orlando on a Greyhound bus. What a nightmare! In Brazil intercity buses are excellent!
Curitiba e Florianópolis são das cidades mais seguras de um país extremamente imenso. Não se pode generalizar a segurança tendo 2 das capitais mais seguras como referência.
As Brazil is a huge country you will find big differences in different states and regions. You are taking one of the most modern and safest lines of bus in Brazil. The road between Curitiba and Florianopolis receives a good maintainance and it's safe. Also the companies that provide that trip are the best ones of the country regarding to comfort, safety and following the scheduled times. When you go to Middle West region, North region and Northeast you may think it's dangerous to travel by bus, because the roads aren't that good, the cities are more and more distant from each other and the infrastructure provided by gas stations are horrible. Of course it depends where you are, but in general it's like that. I am not used to travel by bus, so what I said is based on my knowledge. I've travelled to almost all brazilian regions by car, so I could see different roads and all the stuff regarding to road trip.

Buses to travel, sometimes and to big cities, you are cool with buses. But to everyday forget it. And it takes way longer thab cars with lots of stops along the way
