I like techwrap. I recently order their glitter vinyl and couldn’t get it to even get off its backing after cutting. I quickly thought “ this is worse than dollar tree vinyl” but….I’m quickly realizing that each company has its own settings to make their product work. I went in their website and it said for glitter vinyl use custom settings on machine, choose “printable vinyl” as a material and cut default. Worked like a charm. Note to self: Use company setting requirements. :)
I have to say I’m new to your channel and I’m catching up. You were born to do these videos packed with so much info and cool things. These videos are so helpful. Love the tech wrap but have not used it yet.
When weeding dark colours I use a little bit of cornflour or talcum powder lightly rubbed over the cut designs and it sticks in the cut lines and makes weeding super easy 😊
Can we get the link for the coffee cup? I use the Cricut trimmer, but I would love to get a rotary trimmer. I have a rotary cutter, but the trimmer is bomb. But $$$
i brought a pack of techwrap sheets for my daughters school bottles did them last week the edges are lifting already so hard to find permanent vinyl that's actualy permanent
Hey Diana! We love the color changing cups! I'll share this with Crystal so we can discuss it during our next tutorial brainstorm! Enjoy your weekend and stay creative! - Dawn
I tried Teckwrap holographic vinyl for the first time over the weekend and it would not come off the backing when I was using the transfer tape. It was such a pain! I will need to keep practicing with it!
Yes! We've heard that a did a little research. Teckwrap recommends their Medium tact transfer tape so if you are using Cricut brand, I would recommend making it less tacky by sticking it to your shirt or pants a few times before using it on the holographic vinyl. - Dawn
Why didn’t you just do Premium Vinyl or the Glitter setting but more Pressure, not to waste material I always use more pressure with Glitter prior experience.
I thought I subscribed and hit the bell but I don't think I am notified when new videos come out. I find them accidentally by opening other emails. What do I need to change?
Hi Lisa! The mug can be found here if you were looking for the exact camping style mug: www.amazon.com/Sublimation-Enamel-Blanks-Outdoor-Camping - Dawn
Some Canon printers have a different ink for the black. It's a pigment ink. Maybe that's why the all black design worked so much better and the black didn't wash out of the other shirt.??
So you're saying you don't need to seal vinyl on acrylic? I was making some bookmarks and I just couldn't not put like some polyacrylic on it or something especially since I was layering several layers of vinyl. I tried to do UV resin and for some reason, I just couldn't get it to set no matter how long I tried. *sigh*
The completed mug design looks great. I am disappointed that you gave up on the black glitter. I feel that since this is a tutorial, you should have found a cutting setting that was able to cut it properly.
Is there a reason you didn’t adhere the wording to the circle first then place it on the coffee cup? It could of allowed for perfect placement of the transfer instead of the leopard circle showing overage on the right side of the mug.
used teckwrap for 2 years, ive had decals on cups and cold cups for over a year and they havent budged, i have my name on a mug i use daily n wash in hot water
I've been using the slap bracelets for about a year, and I thought I invented the idea, LOL! I use a Sharpie to write on the outside end, to remind myself of the brand, the cut settings I used, the recommended temp for HTV, etc.
i like using reflective vinyl but i scrap so much because i'm always having trouble figuring out what the best cutting pressure to set. using standard Vinyl, Reflective setting doesn't work.
Hi there! Have you tried reaching out to the brand to find the recommended pressure! We know how you feel, wasting vinyl is the worst.. especially when it's a quick, easy project! - Dawn
no, i just keep running the test cut until i figure out what works lol. takes a few tries but i do end up getting it to work. i'll end up making a list or my settings for future cuts.
it's not that i'm not able to, but if i don't run a test cut on a new material it doesn't cut with the standard setting. today i tried to apply my "Premium Vinyl, Easy Removable" with "transfer tape". finally got my design in place, started to peal back the transfer tape, nope. it's sticking so hard that i damaged my design. can't even peal it off. so i tried to apply the vinyl directly to the glass, it shifted on me and i can't peal it off lol "removable" there goes another foot of material and transfer tape. these products are all designed to work with each other and i can only get 1 or 10 to work right. so ya, i'm done with cricut products.
Hey Nikki! Teckwrap often has sales on their vinyl and they even offer a beginner pack that samples all of the different kinds of vinyl Teckwrap has to offer! - Dawn
Is ther a particular cloth you use to clean the cup or other items before you put the vinyl on? I would love to see the stickers with the added sparkle over them!
