have some tips for you. most of Thai ppl fear a failed communicate so u have to start to get in first and talk slowly word by word u will see this guy can understand or not then u could talk a bit faster. They have a welcoming heart dont hesitate to try new foods new friends u just have to start approaching first. try it!!! nothing bad happen.

For the past 10years , Thailand has been changed in a better way. More progression especially public transport system. Thank you for spending times in Thailand and I hope you have a wonderful time there.

I stay half the year in Thailand and I never felt unsafe without all the anger and people on edge as in the States. I have been all around Thailand from Bangkok to Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Chaing Mai, Phuket, Koh Samui, Hua Hinn, and my second home Koh Chang. Like anywhere including the states, you have to use common sense like not being drunk after waving a bunch of baht at the beer bar. A smile goes a long way in Thailand, treat the people and their culture with respect and it will be returned

Im black and been to Thailand a couple times, Ive never felt any bad vibes from the Thai ppl, ive been welcomed just like any other person. I love the Thai ppl, such a kind ppl. They would go out of their way to make you feel comfortable in their country

The only thing tourists must remember is Bangkok's traffic, especially when using crosswalks. Not every driver appears to yield to pedestrians and stop for them.

You spilled the facts! I am Thai living in America. I don't feel safe for my child or community as I felt back then. There are a lot of crazy people and non-common sense behaviors.

Thanks for a video and nice comments about Thailand.I am Thai who have been living in US for 30+ years. You are right that Thailand is generally safe comparing with Chicago where I live. In general, people are kind and friendly but they may seem shy, it is just because of their inability to communicate in English. I am glad you don't feel discriminated in Thailand. I think racism exists everywhere you go, it is just the matter of more or less. As Asian, I experience racism in US, it is something I have to accept and learn how to live with it. But most Thais will not do or say anything thing bad to people who look different from them. Like you said, as long as you don't do anything crazy, they will not bother you. Additionally, if you become Thais' friends, you will be more surprised, how Thais can be very loyal and sincere. Nevertheless, there are always bad people who will take advantage of foreigners in any countries you go including Thailand. Just be careful. I hope you continue to enjoy and experience good things in Thailand. If you experience unpleasant stuffs, just be mindful that Thailand is not perfect, there are areas for improvement. On my first deployment, I made a stop in Phuket. Hands down, one of the best, most freeing experience of my life. I just felt at home. If I had no kids, I'd definitely be living in Thailand.

Try google translate on your phone my friend. It can translate text "live" in camera mode.. it also has a conversation mode that listens and translates both languages using synthesized speech. i totallt agree the thai people seem way more friendly then people in the states. i seen on other videos if you say hi or smile to people just walking by 99.9% of them say hi back not like in the states. as for trouble if a person acts stupid there they will find trouble but if your good then there will be nothing but good times. the value there is amazing. as soon as i retire i will be moving there full time.

Cost of living is super low. Not too many 'ordinary' Thai speak English, other than that it's super nice.

Thai doesnt hate people by races nor not straight sexual preference. But we judge and hate people by how good or bad they behave to others or places. Thailand mostly safe but, like every country, you should know and stay right place at the right time, should not risk your life stupidly in wrong place or improper time. Some Thais may call you black, but 99% of that is kidding, not hate nor look down. No one gone crazy racism to hurt you nor kill you.

I’m US expat in the kingdom 20 yrs. Have compassion, don’t break someones face. Speaking softly is important. One important note is the staggering fatality rates on Thai roads. Be very careful ☮️🙏🙏🙏

I have been living in Thailand over a decade and never had any issue. I visited LA for a month and got robbed at gun point in the middle of the day.

You know, before i start travelling around the world, i thought Thailand was a dangerous place, as the news goes by. Then after 6 years of travelling, i realize there are only 2 countries that i feel safer than here, Japan and Austria, which are some of the safest places in the world. I am Thai and I attended the university in Philly over 10 years ago. Some advised me to go to LA or SF because those where most Asian students choose to go to. I said no. I wanted to try something new out of my comfort zone and you know what I really enjoyed my time there. I made friends of all colors. Sitting in a bus with me being only Asian was one kind of experience! 😄

Last Memorial Day in the US, there was a mass shooter scare at my local mall in Southern California! Everyone in the crowded mall ran for the exit in a state of panic. I ended up hiding in the storeroom at a store inside the mall along with other customers. In the end, it was a false alarm but that sealed it for me that I will be retiring in Thailand in 2-3 years! I don't feel safe in the US anymore.

Malls are popping here in Africa as well, as long as they're built in one of the major cuties. The MALL DYING thing is restricted to America because Americans figured out that, why should they take the risk of being caught up in a mall that could potentially be a target for a shoot up, when they could safely order online within the privacy of their mama's bedroom
