These are just countries neighbouring with Germany/Austria, were part of the Austrian Empire and this is just something natural not requiring paying too much attention. Thing is, he's not speaking German here but rather international English and is an outlier.
He's German, that is to understand for everybody in the world about the relationship of Germans and cars (and that's why I'm not very worried about Tesla and Chinese cars). For them it's not just a product or some gadget, but the manifestation of their main virtue: precision. I love Autogefühl videos, English car channels are maybe better edited, Americans are more spectacular but the German ones are for real car people like me 😀
Thomas, I am a huge fan of your car reviews. Very structured and objective. You really pay attention to all the details every car enthusiast (or car buyer) should know. Furthermore you represent an image of a professional traditional journalist, which is really rare in the time of digital media: always elegant and well dressed, good and clear language and proper presentation. Even car manufacturers could learn something useful when you talk about their design or ergonomic decisions. I wish you all the best and keep up the good work. 👍
YES! Finally an autobahn video of this masterpiece🔥 thank you guys keep up the awesome videos😆 and thank you Mate and your team for creating such a beast.
I remember back in the day Thomas wasn't allowed to get inside the Bugatti chiron when it was premiered to show us a peak of how luxury expensive cars look Like to us the humble people now flash forward today he managed to review and drive one of if not the fastest hypercar in the world with the founder of the brand as a passenger keep up Thomas! I wish to drive such a fast car myself one day
Seeing this car makes me proud to be Croat and proud of Mate Rimac and his success. Also, great review and first right pronauntiation of the name of the car. Congratulations Thomas on yet another great and relevant review!
@@autogefuehl It took me some time to figure out the meaning of this m8. New thing, at least for me. Big like👍! Waiting for Your next car review. With best regards, Your Leon Širić
Fun fact: neck tie is often called something like cravat, or krawat (in Polish) and it comes from "a la croate" from French, which means 'like a Croat". So neck tie in many places is called after Croatians themselves.
9:35 i'm sure you can because nico rosberg went nuts with his nevera in the mountains of monaco and it barely break any traction his cameraman almost shit himself 🤣

Thanks Thomas for that walkaround and drive. An amazing thing overlooked is that it does not look like it was made by a smaller manufacturer, the design, materials and how it is screwed together all look top notch.
What I like most about Nevera is that it seems one can handle it better than any other Hypercar. Even if Elon Musk puts Space-X technology on his forthcoming Roadster and breaks all records, I somehow doubt Elon’s car will be as safe and enjoyable to drive as Nevera. The reason is simple: Mate Rimac had a poster of Ferrari on the wall above his head when he was a kid. Elon had a poster of Solar System.
Great video Thomas, seeing how insane this car is genuinely made me "wow" out loud and put a big grin on my face! I would love to see this car featured in a Grand Tour special like the Concept One (but without Richard Hammond crashing it haha)
imagine when they combine their EV technology and put that work into the bugattis. Those things will be like rockets on the road with no drama what so ever at 500+ km/h. Scary to think about.
Rimacs technology is essentially running the batteries hotter, uses the same battery technology as the model s plaid, but the plaid is trying to maintain a 8 year warranty.
@@miguellopez3392 as far as I know Nevera has a cooling system throughout the batteries, an expensive one. This system keeps batteries cool not just so save life but to keep them in optimum temperature range.
@Ivor Marko they use dual plate cooling to cool the bottom and top of every cell in the battery, tesla uses ribbon cooling, the key difference is where they cool, the ribbon cools every cell on one side of the center, rimac has more contact area but is higher weight, teslas has a more complex way of cooling but offers better heat extraction to weight ratio compared to the rimac. The main problem is both use 811 NMC cells, at 165F these cells start to degrade and decompose, so if you are going to use high power you have to get rid of that heat fast, but rimacbis pushing so much power out of the cells that even with cold fluid, the core of the cell will be significantly hotter than the top and bottom, this uneven cooling can be very harmful to the batteries Long term health. At the nurburgring the model s plaid had a peak battery temperature of 167F after 7 minutes of running at an average of 600HP, both the plaid and rimac weigh the same except rimac has larger tires and more drag so it will use more energy to get a similar time. The best solution to this is emerssion cooling butt this can lead to even higher weights and uneven pack cooling instead of uneven cell cooling. For a $2,400,000 doller car that will likely never be seriously tracked by its 150 owners it is very cheap to replace $13,000 worth of cells for each car if they do get burned out.
Wonderful!! The likes of Mate Rimac and Christian von Koenigsegg give me so much hope for the future of the supercar/hypercar :) (Is it weird that I wanted the ruler to come out to measure the luggage space?! 😅)
This is an English language show, the consensus among Anglophones is that this is rimak so rimak is correct in English. Just like with roger, rožer and rodžer.
Absolutely incredible car, not only in raw power but also the ability to harness that power as Tomas points out on a number of occasions. It also seems to be incredibly efficient at regenerating energy, perhaps in part due to its 4 motors. The screen at 5:22 shows that 1/4 of the energy used was regenerated!
Great job as always! I’m more excited about this car than the new lambo revuelto. I wish Lamborghini would have made the car more like the terzo millenio concept.
9:13 Thomas simply cannot be compared to the Tesla Model S Plaid. The difference is from heaven to earth. Rimac has a long history behind this. An old subscriber of Autogefuhl.
@@hype5058 this is true. The price says it all. More technology, more money. I respect your opinion but more recently people prefer the SUV ~ SAV segment.
Bravo for pronouncing Rimac properly. It seems beyond the ears of Americans, including Jay Leno, Doug Demuro etc to learn that the "C" in Croatian is pronounced "tz" Vielen Dank
I guess we can forget about "Koenigsegg" although I think it's misspelled without the umlaut...but what the hell, Americans still appreciate great cars even if they can't pronounce them.
Each language has its own rules as to foreign proper names, including car brands, to start with BMW as the most extreme case. If the consensus among English native speakers is that it rimak then the correct pronunciation is rimak. And nobody gets to force anything upon the Anglophone community just like Erdogan cannot tell English speakers worldwide to switcb to Türkiye instead of Turkey.
@@jedrzejgorski5437 You're absolutely correct. Starting with BayEmVay to Erdowan and innumerable other examples. Personally, I attempt to pronounce names according to their origin but that is just an old-man habit I have. The French are particularly good at coming up with funny pronunciations of English words ie. Speedairman!!etc.
To put it in perspective: A heavy duty truck that pulls trailers with tons of weight in cargo is 600hp and between 1000-2000 torque. This car alone is almost 2000hp with 2400 torque (:
I’ve seen the car a few times at shows. At Goodwood I complimented the Rimac staff over its design, it’s hyper car but not too much, and the interior is excellent, buttons and switches people!!!
13:22 this is exactly why EVs are the future of hypercars, regardless of how much diehard fans whine about "WhEre's mY eNgIne NoIsE" and how much they laugh-off EVs for sounding/looking like toy cars. Once you try it, the instant torque, control and smoothness are easily convincing.
I don't get it tho, so u are trying to say that the rimac Is worth £2 million pounds? Because any manufacturer can have the same power as the rimac, and apart from handling and steering feel, there is not much difference between a model s plaid and rimac. And yes engine noise is probably the most important thing about a supercar/hypercar so the rimac isn't really special from the outside
Gorgeous car, really they did an amazing job on this one... Did you test the sound system? Supposedly has a focal speakers which should be the right choice 🤔
Your review shows a lot of mature engineering must of gone into the Rimac. Do you actually think about the price of this car when you are taking it on a drive? I mean the car looks like $100,000 with some hand work and a big more, but $2 million, that's hard to take in and if I did I probably would want to to touch it. The torque vectoring through the turns where you said you don't really feel you need to take your foot of the accelerator was very enlightening! For the computer controlled ability to nipped torque into the curves on all fours is an field of study that has Not been much discussed, but I experimented once with a toy electric car putting all wheel drive on it and the reactions I could get were very confidence inspiring. On the toy electric car when I'd pivoted the steering wheel from one side to the other I could hear the electric motors on the front wheels changing pitch as they ran a differing RMPs at about 3 mph and I hear that same reaction when you were going through the curves with the Rimac! I was suppose to be getting the toy car ready for my little nephew, but it never got to where I was ready to deliver it.
I personally think Rimac shouldnt be restricting units produced in this car, dont make it rare, make it available to buy on demand because the car is already unique as is, doesnt need rarity to keep the value.
What is super cool about those electric hypercars is that you can actually put some miles on it without worrying about the car. Imagine putting any significant miles on some higher end lambo or something like that.
@@MLAGG10N3 first mdoern hyper car ev is the nio ep9 from 2016 now it has the nurburgring record for an ev btw. The mcmurty speirling ev is already reviewed by multiple various car channels here on RU-vid and of course made the historic fastest ever time at the 2022 goodward hill climb event. Does your search feature not work? 🤔
No English user from outside CEE region will read c as it was pronounced in Latin originally and still is in Slavic Latin alphabets so this futile. Plus Rimak sounds so much better.
It's just boring. Sound is half the fun in a sports car. You'll be breaking any legal speed limit in that monstrosity in 0.1 seconds. How can you possibly have fun in it??
Next up for the test is the fastest Bugatti Veyron -model. 🤔

what can you expect by a 2.5Million dollar car, behind it 110k dollars can bet 2million ICE car in a quarter mile race 😅(4 doors sedan car) Good job rimac!! EV power!!!
Yup, I'm from Croatia and I'm pretty sure that roadster is gonna blow this away as well as upcoming chiron successor. Tesla is really taking their time here and people are forgetting that its been in development the whole time since reveal and that Plaid is already doing the roadster numbers
0-300 km/h takes approximately 10 seconds.... Nevertheless, the fastest F1 cars with around 1050 horsepower have recorded 0-300 in under 9 seconds, as low as 8.5 seconds!
