Can you share your settings and workflow, I have problems with 4k 24fps HDR from my iphone 12 pro - its a total nightmare 😰 Stutter, Color is not there... Heeelp!

If your mid 2012 can support 4K RAW then use it for editing. Else buy a new Mac.

If the RAM is upgradable then this is a good option.

Increase RAM and HARD-DRIVE. Check the battery and display. If all is ok then it's perfect.

Upgrade to a SSD and an older version of Final Cut Pro X and you are good to go... I think 10.4 or 10.3 version will work on it.

Yes Capcut is good too. But for some reason it’s not available in India, so I have not yet had a chance to use it.

To check macs purchase date you can try this link, “selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do” maybe you can find the date of purchase. Also i5, 16GB sounds good. You would have to probably upgrade the ssd as per your requirement. Battery you can get replaced not a big issue. But check if the model of MacBook is supported for updates or not. Like does it support OS Monterey. If it does than for 25k it’s a good deal. But check it thoroughly and then decide. It’s your decision, don’t go by my word. First of all, apart from the specs you also have to see the condition of the hardware like the motherboard, processor, display, keyboard, trackpad, etc. Also, for what purpose are you buying the MacBook for should be the main criteria here.

Depending on your work requirment. 1st difference is the performance, the pros will give you better performance than the air. The 2nd is the weight - air is much lighter than the pro. So choose between performance and weight what is right for you.

If you are low on budget and don’t really care for the latest version of FCPX or the OS then yes totally worth it. Just upgrade the RAM install a SSD and you are good to go.
