Idc what people say, I grew up with 2003, but 2012 for some reason just takes up half of my childhood memories. Even though Ive been watching 2003 ever since i was 4 but when I was 6 this show was the only reason why my love for 2012 kept growing. I never wanted this show to end. But then it did.... Ive already rewatched it more than 6 times in over 3 years. and im already rewatching it right now. On season 2 :)
Mabey because you weren't watching 03 when it was airing and u tuned in to Nick's TMNT every week Idk? I was born in 2006 so I grew up with 2012 Ninja Turtled and I loved the show and still do I followed up until They went back to NY after Returning from space
What I love mostly about the 2012 theme song is that it’s RAP. The turtles are from the streets of NYC,specifically in the mid 80’s where you couldn’t step outside without hearing someone bumping heavy D or some other funky shit. If they’re gonna get their music from what they heard on the streets, it’s gonna be rap
I'll always remember my favorite 2012 tmnt show,it had everything. Drama, romance, comedy, and in its final episode was epic.Though I wish they made a series where the turtles are surviving the apocalypse.🐢 #booyakasha🍕
Leonardo 2012 what do u mean bro. Season 1 delivered perfect introduction to the characters and best character development. Season 2 had really high stakes especially that ending with krang invading New York City. And then season 3 had so many fillers it took over the whole season there was no room left for a great story. Then 4 came along introduced so many villains and then just scrapped them by the end of the season non of the villains were compelling enough to be as good as the shredder or krang so that season didn’t end well. Season 5 was just an absolute mess just a mush mash of things with no direction.
Yes... yes. In my head it’s my prime TMNT theme. It’s exciting, shows of the character and their personality, and it even changes over the season. It also keeps the classic TMNT jingle but kicks it up a notch to fit today’s society. I really love the season 5 intro. I also think it’s the best series.
Love it, love that it remixes old stuff but has a new style. I didn't watch 2012 until recently and the intro hooked me as soon as I heard it and the end with the Mirage comic homage sold me on the series. The constant changes to match ongoing storylines is much appreciated.
Thien Nguyen the appreciation the staff of this show had for the past iterations (comics and movies included) is so awesome to see. there are tons of moments throughout the show that callback to direct scenes from the first comics (episode names too)! they even got rob paulsen back on the main voice cast which is so so so cool!
Honestly I absolutely love the Tales intro. I’m more of a Jazz guy then a rap guy and I also just love the more stylistic colour choices as well as certain things changing depending on the arc. It’s one of the few tv show openings that I don’t skip basically ever.
Omg when I saw the thumbnail I thought the 2012 tmnt is returning but then I clicked and turns out it’s a video about the tmnt theme song, Now I realize how much I miss tmnt 2012😞😞
What made this opening so good was just how hype it was. You can’t listen to this and not want to sing and/or dance to it bc it’s just that kind of song. Also you could hear really cool instrumentals in it which sound super freakin epic.
I only like the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Instrumental Music. At the intro of the show, I really love the 2012 Turtles recreating the Mirage Pose. I miss the 2012 Turtles and in 2 years, it will be 10 Years Old and I hope we get something new with the 2012 Turtles like a Blu-Ray Edition Release, NECA Figures, etc. I really hope that the New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie Reboot comes out in 2022 so it can give Paramount a lot of time to find Young Actors for the cast of the Turtles, make better designs of the turtles so they are like High Schoolers, kick Michael Bay out of production, and they should shoot in New York City as always.
I grew up with the 2003 show, I had vhs tapes, DVD’s, and the Battle Nexus 2 video game that I played over and over again. My parents had also gotten me some DVD’s of the 1987 cartoon, and I loved it, too. Theme song and all. I had DVD’s of the 90’s movies and they blew my mind, too. We also had a VHS of the 1990 movie, but on the tape it has the cartoon turtle face, so whenever I wanted to watch the cartoon I would get surprised with the movie. I would be mad at first, but then I’d shut up and enjoy watching it every time. Then, a little while after that the 2007 movie had came out, I loved that movie too! As I started getting older, I became less interested in the turtles. Then when Nickelodeon put out Turtles Forever, and the new show came on, it got me hooked on the turtles again. I started researching and found out about the comics. At that time, there was a channel on RU-vid who put videos of them, showing page by page, what was in the comic. I watched a LOT of those videos. Also around that time, my brother and I discovered The Next Mutation on Netflix, back in the day, and when you’re a kid that show is kinda good. Then there’s the Out of The Shadows game, which I watched someone play on RU-vid. My family had gotten me the IDW comics at one point in time, and it was SO good, I wish they stuck with the art style that they started out with. When the commercial for the Batman VS Ninja Turtles came out I was anxious, but come to find out it’s such a good movie, too. The only turtles I honestly don’t like are the ones from the 2014 and 2016 movies. But yeah, when the 2012 turtles started being featured as Happy Meal toys at McDonald’s, that got me interested, and when that first episode launched, it reignited my love for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Honestly, it was just the perfect storm to create such a fan like myself. I just wish that I had more time to see what Rise is all about. I saw the first episode for that and I liked it. I see a lot of stuff for it at Walmart, and I hope it does well, for Eastman and Laird’s sake. I suppose what I’m trying to say is that it’s VERY difficult to pick a favorite turtle movie or series, let alone a theme song. All I can say is.............I HATE Michael Bay and Paramount.
i love the 1987 and the 2003 and the 2012 intro's. All of them are so cool and awesome. Cowabka and Booyakasha Dude's and Dud-etts. sorry about the spelling.
The 1987 intro is the best. For me it comes down to the music. Its iconic, nostalgic and hip. the music and graphics hold up and you get a feel for the different personalities with their one liners. You can't beat an origional.
Agreed. Just wish the entire show had the same animation as the intro. 80s and early 90s cartoons in general had that problem, quantity over quality. Thundercats, Silverhawks, etc. All had top notch opening animation and wonky in show animation.
From a strictly animation standpoint I'd have to say Rise of the TMNT. Having the whole intro as one continuous shot and just looks amazing. That said over all I'd have to go with 2012. I think the songs better, gives a better intro for the characters, I don't think the animation is AS good it is still very good IMO.
when tmnt 2012 aired, it was my favorite version of tmnt. now story and plotwise, 2003 is my favorite BUT i still think the 2012 intro is the best one so far, even better than the 80's intro. nothing can top the 2012 intro for me
Aria D Gaia 2012 is amazing! it’s not too long with only 5 seasons (about 26 episodes each with season 5 being 20 and being more of a bonus reel of fun concepts imo) and the characterization of everyone and callbacks to old iterations are so nice! it’s on hulu if you have that! if you do end up watching it, then welcome to the party, dude!!
Bro that song was the best of them all. I remember being like 7 and I couldn't stop watching the intro for like 30 mins. I was obsessed with the show and this is the anthem. This was such a big part of my childhood.
I grew up with the 2012 turtles series. It was my introduction to turtles. I even had a lot of merchandise of this turtles as well. TURTLE POWER forever💚🐢🐢🐢🐢
Same! 2012 was the first time I had seen TMNT. I had to go back to watch the 2003 (because I was born 2003, so obviously I couldn't watch it while coming out of the womb lol) and while I really like that one too, 2012 resonates with me more.
I wouldn't go so far as to definitely say it is the best intro ever. But I will say it is certainly up there. The rap style score was a great idea, the character clips were appropriate and the lyrics great. "Get rocked with the shell shock pizza kings" is just a great line to me.
Sometimes I randomly think to myself a part of the lyrics and I have to keep going in my head all the way to the end. Like I'm minding my own business and suddenly here we go it's the lean green ninja team on the scene cool teens doing ninja things so extreme out the sewer like laser beams get rocked by the shell shock pizza kings.
2012 intro op!!! it is insanely catchy and i love all of the changes they did as the show went along. it showed they really cared! (the season 5 intro is AWESOME)
@Retro Cynical I agree with you, the early episodes were so good.. the later episodes they started drawing the turtles more toonish and just got too goofy.
@@MirageTMNT80sOG yeah the first 5 episodes look the best I feel that was also before they knew it was going to be extended into a regular series. The Turtles also used there weapons quite often.
I actually only noticed recently that at the end of the 2012 opening, they are in the poses of the Mirage Comics turtles on the cover of the very first issue
Nothing tops the original into. Everything from the cool light from the sewer cover to it flying off and seeing the awesome guys in green in the shadows (after emerging from the light) is catchy as hell. This one is a close second but the o.g one will always be #1. No offense towards the others but this one started it and you can see it's influence from the 87 opening .
2012 is the definitive theme song as it has the best lyrics the rap has such flow and pace that it's great and encapsulates the turtles with each verse the hip-hop beat just works to modernise the turtles and i have it memorised to this day it acts as celebration of the franchise and the Jazz/Brass instrumental version solidifies this. As it makes for a needed and unique send off a very well done transition it has that orchestral movie like feel that is unmatched by any version even the dialogue cues/catchphrases work/fit in perfectly and matches the rap with hardly any lyrics. 2003 is a close second that ultimately achieves the same thing as the 2012 but it's not the one i grew up so my bias my effect it but it definitely packs nostalgia more RnB/hip-hop and lyrically is on par possibly suprasing 2012 there's something about the artist and music that makes you motivated/intrigued and those little notes/musical cues and wiring noises. Can't remember Fast Forward's theme didn't actually finish it. 1980 a classic that is reflective of its era but still stands true to this day as those qualities/characteristics are the backbone of their personalities there's something cheesy looking on it now but the TMNT:SR game made it top tier and cooler than the original there's something more emotional about it making it more grandiose. 2018 not really a fan of the show having listened to the full song I do kinda like it it's a nice new take but doesn't BOP as hard as 2012 it to me has aspects of all but this way it's Jack of all trades, master of none to me it tries to be too much like the others and not enough distinct but RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISE! stands out XD
I miss this show so much, and luckily I got a $30 visa gift card from my grandparents, so imma buy a hulu subscription and watch all 5 seasons in a week
Idk if it's the best opening because no matter how much I hate ROTMNT the quality of animation in its intro just made my jaw drop but the 2012 original opening is definitely my favourite. It's like a tribute to all of the TMNT incarnations that came out before. I entered the fandom thanks to this series and the more digging I did about the franchise, the more references I found. I felt so much respect towards the creators for doing so much research for a show that was, let's be honest, intended for children who were too young to know all that stuff. I remember show this show to my friend who said she didn't really like the opening sequence, like the role call was something older cartoons did and I was like "THAT'S THE POINT" XDDD I also just love the song by itself, it's really catchy, has a nice beat to it and I gotta admit, I do have it on my playlist x"D
I remember being on a school camp and my friends and I all singing the 2012 theme while we were on a hiking trail the whole time to pass time and see who could get all the words 😅🤣
While my favourite TMNT theme is Back to the Sewers and the other two themes from the 2003 show, this theme ranks just below it as one of my favourites! It sounds great, love the rap style, especially with the violins in it!
I like the tmnt 2012 show, a bit underrated, all the ingredents to make a great show, the fanbase is great (well a little portion can be a little toxic, but anyway...) i don't care the show mistakes, i can handle it.
The Season 2 and Season 4 intros are technically two-halved arcs featured in one season each, with guys like Rahzar and Tiger Claw updating the second half of Season 2’s villain section, and then, after the Triceraton Invasion of New York arc, Season 4’s intro then becomes the Super Shredder arc.
I think if you watch the 2003 series, it is the best. 2012 was too much of the April O'Neil show for me. I didn't like that storyline. Plus, the best 2012 episodes were made by the 2003 series first. And the sarcastic, and more mature jokes of the 2003 series were way more enjoyable to me
Mr.E I disagree I think they made a good choice with April because she’s not just a teenager who knows ninja skills she actually has a reason to be in the show also only a couple episodes were on April like every character
Being an older guy at this point, having grown up with the 80s/90s shows and VHS's of the original movies I paid NO ATTENTION to this series because I didn't (and still don't) like the animation style. That being said I think its the best I've seen of the turtles in any form, everything from the intro song being a fusion of new and old hotness, background music in the first few episodes sounding like they were lifted right from the first live action movie to the smack talk and jokes between the brothers... I regret that it took me until the last couple weeks to give the show a chance.
BRUH, I ONLY WATCHED THE FIRST SEASON IF THIS SHOW (I loved it growing up but I just didn’t watch it after the first season) THEY WENT TO SPACE WHAT THE HECK
