We love our Night Edition Tuscon. It's nice to stand out a little, we haven't seen any others around town. I wish leather was an option in the Night edition and the fuel economy has been a little disappointing considering the lack of power coming from the motor. Overall, I think its a great value. I think Hyundai is really putting out some good vehicles for the price
I agree, I found one on the lot where I work for 28,769 but Im sure the dealer will get it out of here for 28k they didn't even know they had it in stock since there are so few left.
It looks really good, some dealers in my area want more for the night than the ultimate which has way less features lol. I'll wait for a sale that's $5k or more off. Shame hyundai can't give it at least 200hp and 200 pft, it doesn't need to be a fast car its just lacking in power and get up thats my only complaint about the tucson
Hyundai genesis and kia is better than toyota and honda dont get me wrong i still love honda and toyota but hondas have the most ugliest design and bad transmission cvt ! i would pick toyota and hyundai over honda any-day but look hyundai has better warrantee better design and better futures and better sound system better transmisson! No cvt crap!
Just a note, again I own the 2019 Tucson limited, I had the computer screen go out at least 20 times so far you're just driving along and it goes out I have not taken into the dealer, I'm sure it will get fixed, It's just that it's a hassle to take it in when it's a brand new vehicle
I gotta ask...what's with the need or want of a "frameless" rear view mirror? What are you going to do with the buttons that surround the mirror for SOS, Homelink garage door opener, etc. if you put in a frameless mirror?
I remember back in 2013-14, EVERY automotive youtuber and commenter said the murdered out fad was dead. 2019 and everybody has a "midnight", "carbon", "night", "blackout", or "altitude" edition lol
im from canada so we dont get the night edition here. i just checked the US website and i agree with your points, it doesnt do nearly enough to justify its price and name (night edition). the exterior looks AMAZING but the interior is no different than normal tucsons and doesnt even have leather seats :(. i still love this car though. looks amazing inside and out overall.
If you decide to buy this vehicle you need to Find the steepest grade you can drive up, what you're gonna see is the truck struggles on steep grades, It's a dog not worth more than 28000 or less
I dunno Joe... Ford's new escape has 250+ HP for probably the same price or less.... I'm getting sick and tired of manufacturers charging 30k+ dollars for polished turds. If this thing had Ford escape Numbers!? I'm down! I actually love the styling of this Tucson over the new escape.
I’m starting to think the same way the last couple of years! I just bought a 2019 VW Tiguan SE and all Tiguans have a single engine option... a 2.0 Turbo. And yes it’s a bit lethargic off the line. I would probably be 95% happy if the Tiguan had a more powerful V6. The fuel economy isn’t great. It retailed for $28,110. If it weren’t for the large discount from VW Dealers I would not have given the Tiguan a chance. The manufacturers are jamming so much safety technology in them I suppose it’s driving prices up. I drove them all, Tucson (which I liked), the CR-V & Rav-4 and a few others under $40k. No regrets on my Tiguan. The Tucson would have been acceptable to me as well.
To get this vehicle to move you have to floor it and when I say floor it I mean pedal to the metal. It doesn't take long for you to realize that the vehicle is simply under powered,,
Hyundai needs to stop teadering on the border of performance and simple just bring the n edition ful blown and stop fooling around lets get that 275 hp n motorr until.then its going to be overlooked especially with bmw and audi rt around the corner!!!’ Good review joe take care’nn
OMG! Took the words out of my mouth. What I see what's going on is... Manufacturers are making a form of luxury without a HP boost to price hike... Special editions should always have a HP boost. 200-210 HP would totally sell me on this but! The the new Ford escape Eco boost has a 250+ HP...... Probably for around the same price.
gentlemen begga exActly brother they think we are stupid they add a little trim and some fancy grille inserts and then jack the price up with no performance gains at all!!!!
Nice review as always man, you are so right about the seats for the prics and i think is a little blend for the price , thanks again for the review man 👍🏼
31,600 USD for this?? Are you sure it's a good buy in this price range? For this price, I can get a Subaru Forester Sport with better ground clearance, better off road ability, better driving, roomier cabin and bigger trunk space, better and more comfortable seats, much sturdier interior build quality. I don't know why exactly would one take this over a Forester sport or even a middle trim Santa Fe
My dad had one of these when they first released.. I really liked the way it looked especially with the BBS rims. Sporty & sleek, big sunroof, the vehicle felt really good quality. Then he traded it for a GMC Sierra lol we still have that truck and love it to death but there are times where I miss the Tucson so I come back to this review.
I wanna talk again about the dealers, do not under any circumstances let them push you around, I bought my 2019 Tucson limited from Carson City Hyundai, the salesman said they don't make commission, but when I spoke to the sales manager, the top guy, he said Hey I can't sell you that car for that price because I have to pay my salesman a commission, They can't get there story right, honestly speaking Carson City Hyundai is literally run like a boiler Room operation, The sick thing is I actually bought a vehicle from these idiots, For the price you'll pay for this vehicle you can do better looking at other manufactures,
Amazing review Joe absolutely loved the Tucson and of course the review. Also maybe 1 day u could show us a Cadillac Escalade Platinum all black including wheels and everything!!😁. Thanks Joe.
Thanks Joe! Thorough and informative review. Question - how tall are you? I'm 6'4" and i'm wondering if the Tuscon Night will accommodate a taller frame.
Nice looking but with the “zonks”, not special enough. Santa Fe Special Edition? That would be better I’m sure. Good job Joe and thanks for the nice compliment to my comment. 👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏼🇺🇸
Great review. I agree they should offer upgraded seating material for an upcharge at least. Love the look of the truck though, I think I may move from my Accord to one of these soon.
@@spursdynasty7378 the resale is fine....and every soccer mom has a honda or toyota, thanks but no thanks....love the look of the tucson but 181hp is barely enough for a compact car, it definitely needs more power
I am using an '18 Sonata now as my '13 Genesis r-Spec is having work done on it. LOVE the gas mileage but the lack of power I do miss. I also am not a fan of red turn signals for some reason. I really like the look of this, though. I still need to drive the new CX-5.
If we started at 100 points there are 75 points of negatives and only 25 points of positives so you do the math, I own this vehicle for 3000 miles as of this post, I am almost going to sell this car and take a $6000 loss just to get out of it. seriously.
U know what that's a lot of money for a car like that. I have a brand new 2019 Camaro 1LT i paid $28,500 . Is a great car on gas ut i find it s lot of money for a small car with 4 cylinder. I yust to have one bach in the day, but they were cheap. But everything change .specially with today's technology. Thanks for the video. Have a safe one . Take care. Be Bless
fonzyoo7 be is my favorite new auto previewed that I been following a couple weeks. Informative, accurate, entertaining, and humble. I plan on buying some merch to support this channel.
It’s a nice looking car and I agree this car should have a turbo in it, it looks better than the Santa Fe edition. It be a real contender if they had more ponies. Hyundai appears to just focus on making non performance models for their main brand and leave the fast and fun stuff for Genesis these days.
Another great review Joe! This one may make the short list for my next ride. Im a little concerned on the ground clearance for New England winters though.
Just traded in my 2015 Sonata with 278,000 miles for a 2020 Tucson. There was an engine problem at 186000 but Hyundai took care of it. Other than that, I had no major issues; I never had a problem with the transmission.
Tucson!! Proud owner of a 2017 1.6t limited and I LOVE it!! It takes some time to get used to the duel clutch transmission though since it does act more like a manual amd it's my first 7 speed car... It's a fun drive though and pretty to look at 😊
19 model is solid one, but it's showing its age with exterior, interior and trim features. 2020 is gonna be another challenger since its platform will be used for upcoming Hyundai Pickup Truck suppose coming in late 2020, Kia's Pickup truck also coming in the same year.
I think we all need to take a minute and thank Joe for taking the time to read our comments on every single video. He really takes the time to show his appreciation to his subscribers/viewers. It’s quite obvious how hard he and his team are working to get these videos out there. Very professional and presentable. Again, nice reviews and keep them coming! I will say that the 1.6T in the previous generation Tucson will be missed. Dual clutch transmissions are more rough than a conventional transmission and the older customer base didn’t like that and thought there was something wrong when there wasn’t. I had a 2017 Tucson Sport 1.6T loaner once and the transmission acted just like my 07 VW GTI DSG. It’s what gives the car it’s character. The 1.6T also has less GDI problems than the 2.4. Hyundai and Kia had some major issues with the original 2.4 from 2011-2016 and I’m not completely sure they’ve corrected the problems 100%. They should have kept the 1.6T, but switched to a conventional 6 or 8-speed automatic!
Tom Dolgin, IMO, I think Hyundai will likely sell more Tucsons since they lack CVT, DCT & turbos. This is probably why they went this route. The public is becoming more informed of DCT issues (Ford Hyundai) as well as CVTs (Nissan Jatco). IMO, the Tucson looks so much nicer than competition from Toyota, Honda, Nissan.
I have owned two Hyundai cars and one KIA. My 2011 Elantra was ahead of it's time in styling. In fact many of the other manufactures started to copy many of the style lines of the Elantra. This Tucson is a great looking car and I am sure very useful. My 2015 KIA Sportage was a very useful and properly sized SUV for our family. It also had good styling. Unfortunately , although the styling of Hyundai and KIA is always improving it seems that the quality of the mechanics has taken a major step backwards. Our 2009 Hyundai Sonata was top quality and above the competition. The 2011 Elantra had great styling, but it seemed that some of the quality started to slip. When it was time to move to a SUV because of easier access to the interior, we looked at the Tucson and Sportage. The Sportage had a little better door clearance for the leg swing. We did not hesitate, we stayed with the Hyundai and KIA line. Our 2015 Sportage went into the dealer for a computer engine management software update and also a slight tick noise during the initial start up process. This was back in October of 2018. It is my guess it is still behind the shop waiting for a replacement engine. This was one of the million engine recalls. Fortunate for us, the good dealer purchased our Sportage (at a major loss for us) at the end of December when we knew the earliest we could expect the engine would be in March. Now, Hyundai and KIA make great looking cars and I did love all of mine until it sat in back of the dealer's shop for months. Take away - Styling and options are great, but do look into the quality issues and how Hyundai and KIA are handling them.
