Is the 2020 BMW M340i a BETTER sport sedan than the Audi S4? 

Joe, this video is %100 on time, I just picked my 2020 m340i from dealeship 3 hours ago.

This is a great review. We just got a 2021 a couple months ago, got the X drive. This car is the perfect balance of comfort and luxury when you want to just drive around and all business when its time for that!

If you press the traction control button ONCE, it enables DTC and it allows the car to slip more before intervening. If you press and hold the button for about 10 sec, it turns off all traction and safety systems. At least this how it used to be on previous models. Haven't driven this one yet.

BMW knows what they're doing. That thing moves. My daughter just subscribed to Raiti's Rides and I hooked her with some merch. She's going to represent The Channel out here in Park City.

Awesome review Joe. I drove this car at the BMW M Town Tour event and it's a fantastic car. The acceleration, handling, sound etc. are all respectable.

I bought an M340i about a week ago and it is an excellent vehicle. Only odd thing I found the sunvisors a really cheap material and the passengers side mirror isn't auto dimming but the other ones are. It is a very fast and capable car for sure!

I have an M340i with very similar spec to the tester. Mine is also RWD which gives up some acceleration off the line but is lighter, more dynamic, and better balanced. I'm in TX so XDrive isn't a must, but a light interior stays cooler. You need to put it in Sport+ for more tail-out attitude. You forget to mention an important standard feature is LSD. $60K is pretty reasonable considering the performance and comfort. I don't miss any options not on my car. I got a significant discount and that was before COVID. And if anyone cares, I get a legit 30 MPG in fast highway driving.

Awesome review, those numbers are way better than the previous M3 (F80), lets se what does BMW got for us in the next generation aproaching. Definetly a dream car. Thanks Joe.

When you said over 500 different colors to choose from I ran to my M340i to make sure I wasn't crazy lol.... unfortunately there's only 6 solid colors to choose from + a few accents of white with those same colors... Mercedes definitely has BMW beat on their ambient lighting (color options AND amount of light) BUT otherwise, the M340i tops any car in its class including the C43 AMG! Great video by the way, keep it up!

I own a 2020 M340i xdrive in Portimao Blue and oyster interior. Having the xdrive makes a big difference as opposed to the rear kicking out as you showed in the rear drive model, as it’s non-existent due to the xdrive kicking in. Also, the xdrive model knocks off a few tenths of a second from 0-60. Only options missing from mine is adaptive cruise and adaptive suspension. Thanks for the review. I recommend to anyone cross shopping between Audi and MB. This car replaced my Audi S3, which was a great car.

Great review. Question. S4 vs M340i as a daily. I have driven both and day to day, NOT on a track, I found there really wasn;t a huge seat of the pants difference, EXCEPT in the ride, which I found the S4/S5 was smoother and more comfortable. Curious your thoughts between the two, again as a daily, knowing that there are those times where you are using it for the daily commute. Thanks.

I test drove ‘17 or ‘18 CPO 340i 6-speed manual with the ZHP package last year. What a super nice car. Couldn’t afford it at the time, but it became one of my dream cars that day. I wish BMW still had a manual as an option on the non-M3 3-Series sedans. As it is, I’m just hoping to find another low mileage CPO like that in a couple years. Also, I agree with Joe. That curved grill leading up to the hood does not look good. I hope BMW rethinks that when they refresh this car.

Love these cars! Not a fan of the light interior but that's just me. I also agree with others and they need to redo the digital dash layout. Not a fan of the weird tach/speedo the way they show. This is a seriously fast car for the money. Give me one in blue with the red leather interior and I would be in love.

Never been a big fan of BMW but this one, even though I'm not crazy about the looks, is a exciting car and is priced right considering the performance. I love all your reviews. Your definitely the one I listen to because of your great insights into each car you drive and those food references always crack me up. All that said, I still want the Polestar. There's just something about an upscale EV that does it for me. I'm afraid motorheads are going to have a hard time adjusting to this new era in automobiles.

Good review. Many fair points. I like how BMW is trying a little harder, still not sure on grill. I like what Genesis did with the G70, but this thing eats it in every way. Maybe not service costs lol. But I like everything else more on the 340i except the price. Missing some options for that price too. You ain't getting 22mpg on a 3.3T G70 either. I typically really like white cars, but with that Grill, I think I'd go a darker color, maybe dark Grey to make it stand out less.

Hey joe ! I love your reviews and I'm a little late to the party but I wish you said some words comparing this one to the regular 330i you reviewed last year seeing as its a step up in the line-up.

Place it in Sport Plus and push the traction control button once to reduce the level of control a bit then it will rotate on power.. I have a 2020 X3 M40i and that helps keep momentum out of a turn..

BMW says 0-60 4.4 for rear wheel drive and 4.1 for AWD.

Full disclaimer. I just bought one of these and LOVE it. However to the people bashing the price as compared to a normal 3 series. You need or compare apples to apples. This starts at $55. You can spec a regular 3 series higher than that. Mine cost $65K but it came with heads up display,semi-autonomous driving,full LED lighting with laser headlights. It parks itself and has 360 camera and 3D external view of the car. All this and it goes 0-60 in 3.8 seconds! This car is a bargain.

Joe, BMW calls what looks like brushed aluminum Cerium Gray. Also, I keep hearing different 0-60 times. I will have to get a draggy and find out for myself. good video

I'm a MB fan and owner. But I love the new design of BMW. And their interior has gotten so much better, both aesthetically pleasing and in quality of materials. I recently rented a 2019 Q7 premium plus when I was in LA a few months ago. The interior and materials used was a huge disappointment to me. So was the drive.

Short answer. Yes. I have owned both. Both are great cars. But the m340i is just better, especially for future upgrades if you so desire.

YES and I've had 3 Audi (B8/B9/C7) in my family last 6yrs. The Audis were good...the BMW with B58 I-6 is way better. Have a X3M40 currently and will get the sedan next time I trade up.

That USB and 12 volt near the cup holders are water proof. They say you can even pour water directly in there and it won't affect them.

Nice car and nice review. But taking a quick look on auto trader shows that after 2-3 years it loses almost half its value. Plus you never want to keep these after the warranty expires.

Correction! There is no such thing with bmw as in providing 500 different colours. If not mistaken it's 7 base colours with option each combined with white. So realistically u are looking at 14 colour themes.

Great video, thank you Rati!! Cool looking little BMW. I like the broken up style of the kidney grill that this one has makes it a little different from the usual kidney grill! I think it should have some more nice materials inside for $60,000 TBH and for $60,000 it should have some carbon fiber accents instead of that fake looking carbon fiber trim.
