Whoever keeps saying this is an Altima please look at this car real good. This car only gets the grill from the Altima .. This car is 75% a baby Maxima
@@rw1494 With falling sales in the Maxima's class, some companies have withdrawn from the large car market, I wouldn't be surprised to see Maxima go to the automotive grave, soon.
Joe, nice to see your better half in the video! Lori, thanks for all your hard work in support of Joe in this new endeavor! It’s nice to see a husband and wife team with so much respect for one another and their shared passion for automobiles!
@@adamc1694 Even if kilmer didn't say not too, Nissans are not a great brand. It's been a looong time since the days of Datsun or the R33 / R34. Their reliability, especially in that CVT is horrible. The President who recently has been going thru insane legal issues pretty much saved Nissan from going defunct in the past 20 years by sacrificing quality dramatically. It did save Nissan, but not the right way. Literally he has been quoted stating " If you ain't lyin, you ain't tryin " Not a great or honest company at all.
Let’s be honest. They could have made designs like this 10 years ago. The problem is that if they come with those they won’t be able to squeeze money for different « redesigns ». They can already make cars that will launch in like for 2040 for 20k$ if they really wanted to...
I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra S with over 186,000 miles on it. Never had an issue with the original CVT. I changed the fluid every 60,000 miles as required in the owner’s manual. Nissan is capable to be reliable as Toyota and Honda. You haters should learn how to read a manual and drive a car properly and you won’t have any problems long term.
Nissan makes really nice cars, however, they stop making quality cars since merging with Renault. As far as reliability goes, they'll never beat Honda, much less Toyota.
@@michaelcorleone993 all cars have issues. It's how they deal with those issues that matters. Toyota is really good at acknowledging their problems and fixing them. That's why they sell more cars and keep a loyal customer base.
@@michaelcorleone993 I own two Toyotas, both have over 200,000 miles and I no problems with them. I also own a Nissan with 120,000 miles and I have a lot of problems with it.
I like the inside of the Altima more. But besides that it's a great looking car. I guess time will tell how reliable it is compared to the competition.
I like it Joe. I have to give it to the Nissan Corporation the styling of the 2020 Sentra is spot on. I would like to see it in person for myself to really compare. I'm starting to have a different opinion of the CVT transmission for a daily driver. It seems fine to me. If you are planning on taking your car to the race track then you shouldn't be looking at this type of car. But for the rest of us folks a CVT is just fine. Thanks for sharing and also letting your significant other take a turn lol.
Never in a million years did I think I would strongly consider purchasing a SENTRA as my next car but honestly, I am impressed with the interior and exterior of this vehicle. I also do not mind the CVT much since my main concern is fuel economy anyways.
I don’t understand the CVT hate , I have a 2009 maxima with 134,000 miles. NOT ONE ISSUE with the transmission. In fact, the only issue was my air conditioning went out. Really reliable car!
Was really excited to see this since seeing your post that this would be forthcoming - great review as always - Nissan did a fantastic job with this one, seems it will be real competitor! Smashed the like button, awesome video!
I am as against CVT as everyone else. I prefer a manual (RIP) or a reg auto.. but I can't just hate on this car cause of that because CVT is almost a standard in this class.. with that being said I think the design is the best Nissan has done for this car in forever! Finally a chance to complete with the civic/corolla/mazda3
I and my wife like that car. It has a good smooth acceleration, and design of the exterior and interior are really nice. The downsides : Headrest is bent forward way too much. She is short so the top of her head was banging against that headrest when driving. Also, too many rotations of the steering wheel are needed when parking the car.
Thank you! Lori. At last someone being honest and keeping it real. The commute is what one should think about in a car. Do we really need a sport car? A high horsepower car when it is. We're going to be in bumper to bumper traffic. The goal is the commute and being comfortable getting to the destination. Thank you! Lori.
@@RaitisRides thank you for bringing Lori along for the ride. Lori perspective adds to your already great commentary Joe. Y'all officially the new automotive power couple. Great job you two!
@@RaitisRides you're welcome Sir 🙂 God bless you and Lori 💞🙏 drive safe okay! P.S. Aside from the reviews you always teach your viewers to drive safely & that's what I love about too! You indirectly teach us to drive defensively. I'm your lovely Wife noticed that, thank you! 💞
Nissas definitely is stepping up their game with this car, love the exterior and interior.. only thing I don't like is the cvt transmission.. hopefully they released a manual version with more power..
I am so in awe of the car and I’ll absolutely be getting one when I graduate. Also, your charisma skills is excellent and you really spoke with factual information and descriptive cadence. Thank you so much!! Also I completely agree with you on the dual exhaust and fog lights 👏🏽👏🏽🔥🔥🌟🌟
Awesome job. All reliable information points about seating comfort and position are spot on when you're the driver. Great seeing you Lori, always a pleasure!!! See you both on the next ride :-)))
Hey raiti, I was about to comment that show your camera person but it was surprise to know at the end when that lovely lady show up. You guys do great job. I’ve started to watch your reviews last week and I’ve been watched more than 25 as I’m planning to get my first vehicle here in Canada. Thanks man!!! I appreciate your work.
I love the new Sentra!! I hope they sell it globally and I hope Nissan did their homework with their fragile moped gearboxes. Looking forward to the SE-R version in which I hope it's engine (I hope a Turbo 4 and twin clutch transmission) will be the basis for the new Silvia if Nissan wants to revive it (please do it FGS!!)
Nice exterior colors. Looks like a decent little car. Even though I’m not a huge Nissan fan they will give you a deal unlike Toyota, Honda and Mazda. Always great to see Lori in the videos. She sounds like a very bright young lady. 👍 another Raiti’s Rides gem 💎
Great review as always Joe - really love the inclusion of Lori in this review - great symbiotic chemistry as you two discussed that Sentra. Nissan definitely “hit the nail on the head” with this one as you would say. $22k is so excellently priced for that SR trim. Thanks!
Yep and Nissan will give deep discounts and favorable financing terms to move these things. People keep comparing these things to civics and Corolla but when it actually comes time to buy it you’re probably gonna spend 15% more for the car that’s priced exactly the same and if you’re not holding it till it’s way out of warranty there is not care about if it makes it past 200k Hell, my Sentra has been great but as soon as it’s paid off I’m gonna sell it and re-up for another new one.... I won’t even have 80k on it when that happens
Payment history is the most important ingredient in your credit score. Paying on time every month establishes a track record of responsibility as a borrower, while a single late payment on your credit report can set back credit improvement efforts significantly

This car is going to fly off the dealers lot, Best looking car out there ....... but not for me without a manual transmission, 1.6 -2.0 l turbo engine and some red needles in the instrument cluster panel
Looks like this new Sentra has been thoroughly developed to succeed in many ways! It looks absolutely gorgeous inside & out. The styling, seats and steering wheel look better than many cars costing twice as much! GO SENTRA!!! GO NISSAN!!! ENJOY the RIDE. 👍👍👍
Hey Joe welcome to Miami! thanks for your awesome videos. I watch them like a regular tv show lol. I can tell you like that Sentra! It’s worth it every single dollar. great work including Lori. It will be so much help if you also review car’s sound systems!! You will be amazed how many people see that feature as #1 in a car. Have fun in the keys!
Joe i really appreciate the Lori input. I had a 1991 Sentra SER and I honestly enjoyed that car more than the other big and small cars I've had since. i also have Frontier Desert Runner I bought in 2000 with 250,000 miles and still runs great. I am retired and don't need much now so I will check out the new Sentra
Initially I didn't like this styling and preferred the new Elantra CN7 but over time, this new Sentra grows on me. Especially the interior, it totally wins over the Elantra with lots of soft touches and very classy design.
Damn Joe I am making the rounds on your vids tonight. Right from the 2020 Stinger to this. And don’t be teasing me about maybe seeing a manual trans option like that! My heart can’t take it. Seriously though, I have a 2019 Sentra SV that I’m leasing for a commuter. For what it is, it’s not a bad car. Looks nice, has good interior space. Not all that fun to drive but gets the job done. But this 2020....perfect combo of grown-up and class without being boring. I dig it.
Bought a 2023 Sentra SR with the orange / bronze paint in a 6 speed manual and midnight rims. Coming from a Civic SI, It's not as fast but a better overall drive and more refined. A turbo addition would make this a perfect compact offering.
Leather seats, leather steering wheel, heated seats, Bose stereo system and sunroof for just $23,000? I think I just might trade in my 2016 Chevy Cruze Limited LT for this car. I’ve had my car for 4 years anyway.
Good job Nissan!! The previous Sentra was ok looking, but this new redesign has made it unrecognizable compared to the old body style!! I especially love that color combo!!
.... This car has some very good points. The styling looks great. The zero gravity seats are a big plus. Rear suspension is excellent. They haven't junked up the dials with a checkerboard backing. Now the ugly ... The pop-up info screen is obnoxious. The Jatco CVT still using inferior belts is unreliable at best. The safe bet is the Elantra with it's Intelligent CVT and steel belt.
Exterior styling looks great, and the option to black out the whole top of the car like that is very cool.😎👍 Hopefully that flat bottom steering wheel is a hint at better things to come powertrain wise, because right now it looks pretty silly in a car this slow. 😄
For the people that hates on nissan mine sentra has 230 thousands miles and never had a single issue all my family been using nissans since i was kid they all go above 200 thousands miles everytime
Joe, two tips are always better than one. At least they gave us one chrome tip. VW Arteon at a much higher price point has none! Love that orange gold color. Also loving the black roof. This is a huge styling improvement over previous generations! I have to zonk the CVT though! Come on Nissan, drop the CVT’s! About as exciting as the power glide transmission in a 72 Chevy Nova! 🙀
The very front exterior is the front of an Altima except for head lights but the sides and top definitely has the maxima ....the interior is , except for the vents, is by far like an Altima ...I have a 2019 Altima SR ...so it has does both similarities
These new Sentra's and Altima's and also the Maxima's are starting to get the famous styling cues from the old Datsun 280zx from back in the day and they really look sharp!!
Joe. What’s the word on the street about the building fallout of Renault / Nissan partnership? It would be great to see Nissan return to their grass roots on a modern level.
I had a 2005 nissan Sentra while in college. Cheaply made and Horrible car to drive. The parking brake would unexpectedly fail and I had to carry a brick at all times to prevent rollaway risk. The Transmission was equally terrible, it kept shuddering when I was creeping through stop and go traffic. The interior was made of low grade Chinese plastics that rattled like crazy even for minor road imperfections. I traded it in for a brand new 2013 Mazda 3 sport once I started making decent money. Glad they fixed those flaws.
I really like the tamdem review style. Laurie (sp?) brings up a very valid point. I used to spend 8-12 hours a day driving my car. I worked out of my car. So the seats are the most important part of the car.
I have the 2021 Nissan Versa blue and I love it I never thought a Nissan would be my first car especially considering the fact I’m a Honda guy man Nissan did good with this car I would’ve gone for the Sentra but to me the versa looks better especially the gauge cluster half electric and half analog
Love the look of this car! I would of considered this over my civic back in 2017 when I had to get a new car. Although my civic has 180hp which I feel is great to have daily driving. Would love more but for the price I can’t complain!
Nissan has come a long way since 2008. I own a 2008 sentra and it is extremely lackluster. Good to see they are trying to pull themselves out of the bargain bin.
Hey Joe, great review as usual. They really did a good job with the new Sentra. I think it looks much better than the last model. It finally doesn't look like it's from 10 years ago. I hope they follow the trend with some of their older designs. BTW: I noticed you were listening to my wife's favorite station @16:18 on SiriusXM.
I would definitely take that over the Civic, so many issues with oil dilution. Nissan are usually pretty peppy once the engines are broken in a little bit.
