@@curtischapin6412 True. I look at my 2017 Pathfinder Platinum and I find that same outdated stuff in the QX55. Why would I move ahead? It's not like they can't use what they just freshly brought to the new Rogue, Pathfinder and QX60. C'mon Infinity, stop being cheap.
yea, I agree! their design team , product strategy , and their engineer department aren't on the same page.. IMO that's why their line up is not Cohesive! great exterior design language( design team) dated interior infotainment ( product strategy ) , awful power terrains ( engineering )
Honestly this looks great exterior wise and the color is amazing but the Infiniti FX will always be king. It was a Nissan 350Z in crossover form with it's great sporty handling and beautiful exhaust note.
Love how Infiniti dares to think for itself and not follow the German herd. Two screens are always better than one! Dedicated buttons are a must. Love that color! What is it?
My aunt decided to buy the QX55 rather than other coupe suv's! Her points was the dual-screen infotainment (upper for apple car play and bottom for favorite radios, quite innovative she said) and also the looks with the red paint looks gorgeous! The drive was kinda vague but it was daily drive-able!
exactly !! same here! Infiniti CANNOT justify this top of the line price of 63k if they wanted to! the GV70 is a better choice if you're going to pay 63k. 2.0T AWD 268hp CVT... EASY pass, however I do like the exterior of this Qx55
Looks more like a 40,000 vehicle If you ask me. The exterior is nice however I feel like the front of the vehicle looks dated, compared to the competition. The tail end looks amazing however. The interior is outdated, and the cvt is a no go. Thank you for reviewing as always!
Car prices are going up across the board, even Jeep is now charging 66k for the high trim grand cherokee. Inflation really sucks! Consumers need to push back
@@EarthianZero Jeep has always charged 60k+ for their luxury Grand Cherokee If you arent a luxury shopper stick to a base trim or even just the regular Cherokee
Anytime I hear dogging of the CVT I take it as someone being bias. The CVT was going to be used by Williams in F1 but was quickly banned due to its efficiency!. I almost feel like the media has masterminded a smear compaign against CVTs. Mind you Toyota, Honda all use one now. I prefer a CVT over a regular slush box anytime. So responsive and handy for driving and passing immediate in traffic. Yes they are reliable.. I took my 2010 maxima up to 230k on the original CVT until I sold it.
The exterior is gorgeous, but the outdated look of the electronics and the dual screen and all those buttons next to the lower screen really remind me of all of their older vehicles. If Infiniti took care of that I’d be going to the dealership next week. Also, the CVT isn’t for me.
From an enthusiasts point of view yes, but the people buying this car could give 2 shits about powertrain. Once it looks good and it's comfortable, women will buy it and husbands will buy it for wives. I for sure is buying the new z or a performance sedan. I'm not an SUV guy so it doesn't matter much to me
Oh sweet, the same navigation and infotainment system from 2005 that's also in my 2019 q50rs made it into a brand new 2022 model. Great job infiniti! Looking forward for the q50 redesign in 2035.
Thanks for your great reviews. Regarding the infotainment screens of Infiniti, I don't see them bad point. I like these traditional screens better than these big tap that cover the whole dashboard like Mercedes and Genesis. In general Nissan and Infiniti is very solid and high end company with a long respected history. Still they are with far less deadly defects comparing to Hyunday and Kia.
Looks really good, but for the money, it's missing a few features to demand that $60k price tag. Not to mention that CVT. Gotta get rid of that junk. CVT's aren't known to last and can be costly to repair/replace later on the vehicle's life.
Hey Joe, been watching you for a while now - I was wondering what you thought would be the best car to get for someone who owns a dog and commutes to work a lot, been thinking about getting the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Plug-in but curious to see what you think Also, not a fan of that infotainment system in this Infiniti
Looks good But not worth 60k with that cvt when you can get a well equipped Italian 280 hp 305 lb torque Alfa Romeo Stelvio for around 50k with a great ZF transmission 5.3 0-60.
needs more hp. but thats just me. dark chrome should have happened. i do not like the exhaust tips, that style is exhausted. other than that. looks good
Beautiful vehicle, bet it drives like a dream. The plastic on the fender is pretty key if u like snowy mtns where they gravel the roads. It’s not as pretty out of the box but sure looks better “down the road.”
I've always loved having the map screen full screen and always on... their infotainment is not bad...I do enough touch screen bullshit with my phone and like a break.. CVT is a deal breaker...looks and styling are excellent...I just can't get over the fact it has a CVT....No performance or luxury car should have one...
It looks great but Infinity lost me when they decided to go with a variable compression turbo engine putting power to a CVT transmission in a 60k vehicle. It’s prone to transmission problems. Mark my words.
I'm gonna Zonk the 2 Infotainment screens. They need to just put 1 Large 14 inch Screen. And, Infiniti has the Cheap looking Joy stick. For 60 grand the dash should be All Digital. Not mixed. But it is still a Pretty Enough Vehicle. And you can still fit a bunch of Twinkies in the Trunk.
I was literally waiting for the "But first let's talk about Infiniti" or "right of the bat", I guess I'll have to accept Twinkie storage measurements for this review lol another great video man!
yes a flat black wheel arch is like a compact suv appeal.....body color would look more elegant....even the rear bumper black accent makes it not elegant....i think
Also, I don't mind the dual screen, one screen for nav and the cameras and the other for infotainment.. it would work for me.. Furthermore, the lack of wireless charging is good with me too, my truck has a Qi pad but with wired Apple CarPlay I wind up never using it the pad..
I definitely think this is WAY better looking than the GLB & a polished turd looks better than the X4! Out of those choices I'd have to pick the Mercedes because the CVT transmission is a no go for me! I wonder if someone would LS swap this? 🤔🤣
To be honest, I like the interior of the Nissan equivalent/similar (like Rogue) more. Even the technology is better in Nissan. I really don't understand what Infinity/Nissan are doing here. So I don't see any reason for paying more for the Infinity and getting less (especially technology wise). Great video from you both again. Thank you.
🤪😍 if it had more power i would change my 18 q50 rs400 for the new qx55 but unfortunately it is not powerful enough for me, the qx55 is the most beautiful thing seen this year.
I’m scheduled to drive this tomorrow and I was ready to pull the trigger. Unfortunately I can’t pay $55-60K for a weak ass 4 cylinder and outdated interior. I’m so sad. It’s such a cool looking car!
All the shiny chrome & black plastic makes it look a little cheap. Also the old duo screen infotainment with a CD player (🤦♀️) is very much outdated. Huge sticker price for what appears to be cheap materials
From a customers perspective, there is no reason to pay extra for an INFINITI when you can get everything this car offers at NISSAN. Save the money, the new interiors on the NISSANs are just as nice as some of the Infiniti's.
i still like shiny chrome. looks more high end then black . it looks tacky and cheap. but maybe shiny black chrome will look nice just not matte black.
@@RaitisRides that's the reason why we love you Joe and Lori. You guys post a video and really take time to respond to alot of messages. That's love for your fans right there
60 Gssss for no resolution camera and outdated GPS it seriously looked old, not impressed! Btw, I agree with you Joe on the fender color, it should have been of same color, would have looked great! Thnx and keep on rocking as usual Team. 🙏👍
the problem with the magazines is that they don't have exclusive coverage anymore. if they wanted to claw back readership, they have to offer them something else because covering new cars is just being done better and faster by ppl like you, joe. they might consider doing deep dives into engineering and technical systems, but honestly I don't think their writers are smart enough to do it or entertaining enough to make it interesting. they can also, in the modern era of emissions and safety regs, do more coverage on vintage and modified. again though, this is stuff they don't have expertise in because for years all they did was wait for industry to issue them press cars and then write some schlock.
Std sunroof is so yesteryears especially in a premium vehicle. Once you go panoramic or all-glass roof you can go back to those puny sunroofs. I do love the exterior shape of the QX55
Good afternoon joe great video excellent job interior nice performance okay color love be safe and blessed day happy holidays from New Jersey thanks for your video the best
