I just bought one, and I have to say, it is sooooo much fun taking off from a stop light. It'll chirp all four wheels at launch. The 392 definitely turns heads over a standard Rubicon. My neighbor has a Rubicon 4xE and his sounds like a vacuum cleaner.
I have an early 70's muscle car with around 500 hp, and had a little road battle with one of these the other day. He pulled up next to me and I could tell he wanted to play. We went at it a bit, and while I pulled on him, I was really surprised at how quick it was. I've never heard of 392 Rubicon and had to do a search, which is what lead me here. The fellow had the top open, doors off, and it just didn't look like it would be as quick as it was. It's a very cool vehicle all around !
Anything with this 6.4L HEMI is fast, not just the 470HP, but it’s a pushrod engine, so as a result you also get 470lbft of torque. It’s no ordinary NA cross plane V8. It was originally designed to be a workhorse in the heavy duty Ram trucks like the 2500 and 3500, A lot like the V10 in the Dodge Viper. But of course Dodge being Dodge they began using the 6.4 in their sports cars. And it found its way into pretty much every vehicle across the Chrysler brand.
@@zoomzoom3839 I have a 2018 2500 Ram with the 6.4 and 4:10 gears, it's a big heavy brute of a truck. I believe it's rated at 415 hp, which is plenty, but the 470 hp 6.4 would make it that much better. I also had a 2005 1500 Ram with the 5.7 and I believe 345 hp and 3:92 gears, and it was a bit quicker than the the big 2500. I like my 2500, but it's the roughest riding truck I've ever owned.
Sorry about being so late Joe. I really like both si picking one over the other is not an easy choice but if I really had to sit down and think about it, I’d go with the TRX.
your best video to date that 392 is just totally ridiculously sick the thing that you didn't touch on with that 392 is the front end more beefed up then with the regular four or six cylinder? I would think that that 392 is pushing the front end around a lot more than usual hence the dreaded jeep wobble Thanks for the video
Happy Independence Day 🇺🇸Excellent review and content for the 4th of July. Comparing 2 All American Hemi vehicles Jeeps are great and a Rubicon with a 392 does get much better than that. Personally I would take a Jeep over the TRX
One thing I bet you didn’t know about this Uconnect system is that there are 18 different display themes for you to choose from. To do this, go to settings, then hit display and then set theme. Then you can choose whichever theme suits your interest. This will only work on the Uconnect 4C NAV.
Idling it sounds more like a Shelby GT. It doesn't have the rumble of the other 392 Stellantis vehicles. But during the On-throttle it sounded more like a Mopar Hemi.
Apples 2 Apples comparison here buddy. You should have said Bronco Raptor 392 wins hands down on engine & sound alone in Bronco Raptor comparison. Bronco needs a 5.0 dark horse coyote V8 engine in it and EV1 would buy it! As far as TRX, I would take that anyday over the Jeep
This is another excellent review! I really look forward to your reviews. BTW I ordered a BMW M2 from Morgan auto group in Tampa after the review you did. I told them it was your review that sold me. 6 speed manual and its here in less than 2 weeks!! Keep up the quality work!
while on paper the Wrangler 392 seems like a terrible value its something you really just have to experience...I got to drive a Wrangler 392 for a day and WOW it is such a fun vehicle...
Will the jeep gladiator be redesigned and perhaps get better mpgs? On all jeep u should be able to get 35 and 37 inch tires right from the factory since that's what most people will move up to.
The profit margin for Stellantis on every 392 sale must be through the roof. The base model $90k MSRP is ridiculous. Don’t forget the 12-14 miles per gallon.
Joe this crazy price!!! You literally would have to smoking something bad at dealership to buy this. I can definitely find something better spend $95k on than this. Great video as usual but this HARD NO!!!!
The price point of a 392 Jeep is just not worth it to me. I have a TRX on order and I think that for the standard and options, including ventilated front and rear seats, I will stay with the truck. Though the Wrangler 392 is sweet looking and would not mind owning one. But if pressed between the two, I will keep the TRX.
Hey Joe I going jeep All the way, even though most people would want the RAM TRX , I even like the Toyota 4 runner which is in a different class, what do you think my friend.???.
I like how he added like it or not as far as electrification of the vehicles, if you don't like it. Simply don't buy the new stuff. Just keep rebuilding what you have and the manufacturers will come around regardless of government regulations. 😅 Besides, if you do the simple math 130 lb of lithium per vehicle tesla amount, 20 metric tons of lithium on the planet and over 1.4 billion vehicles. The Earth simply does not have the material, unless you want lithium to be more valuable than gold😅
Isn't the left rear tow going to get a little hot with the exhaust tip being that close. So now you're stuck in the mud with a burnt hand. NOT A GOOD DAY
Don't compare them, I want them both. The 392 complements what the trx "can't do." Dodge and jeep did the best. It is simple. The trx can be a tool, the jeep 392 is a toy for fun.
