@@RaitisRides Hmm - 2.1 sec 0-60 on the C8's instrument cluster = ~2.5 sec of measured accurately with a "Draggy" device. But I'm willing to bet 2.5 sec can be beat if one puts on Cup 2R tires and runs on a prepared surface on a perfect day!
People love to hate on this thing just because it’s a hybrid as if hybrid performance cars haven’t already proven to be good. Ex: P1, 918, LaF, NSX, SF90, 296
Joe as an owner of ZL1 and I believe you own one too, my allocation came up for the eray over the Z06. That being said I went with the Eray for a few reasons. 1. All wheel drive, 2. V8+ electric motor, 3. Torque, 4. Sleeper on the street, 5. uniqueness. Based on your review I think made the right choice and yes I will be tracking the car!!! If I don’t like it I can always trade for a Z06 right…ha ha 🏎️🙏❤️
@@RaitisRides GREAT to hear Joe…and I have no plans to sell my ZL1 either as I freakin love that car…glad to hear you still have your Z my friend!! Cheers from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I try to tell guys that all the time. That hybrid battery give more hp. I drive a Q50S hybrid love it and will always keep it & definitely adding a eray to my collection
I just put my order in this week, after waiting 22 months...just don't know when the Company is going to move me up to 3400 status!! I ordered Carbon Flash Metallic 2LT, RED & BLACK INT...with High polished Aluminum rims, w edge red calipers...plus chrome badging!! Should be 8-10 weeks, if Bowling Green keeps their 💩 together!! Thanks for the Excellent review!!
Same as you I've got a ZL1. It's a 2014 with almost 106K miles on her and never any serious issues with the drive train or suspension(except re placing worn mag ride shocks all the way around twice is pricey) I look at the ERay and see exactly what I need in a Corvette. It's beautiful, it's quick with that hybrid up front pulling off the line and being all wheel drive it can be driven in weather situations you find yourself in accidentally. And I don't buy any car to sit in the garage and waste away. They are built for a purpose and it's not sitting in the garage. Problem, how do I get one? I would buy the one he had in the podcast in a minute if I had the opportunity and it wasn't marked up crazy over MSRP. Dont know where to look. There ar e no many out there and the ones that are won't be turned loose of easily I'm afraid. At 75 years old? I don't have that long to find one. Maybe I could bribe you into giving this old fart a ride in yours sometime. Where are you located? Where did you get yours?
@@jamesh1641 I'm talking about the Cacti green with the black top and black noctules. That, with the tan interior I think would look amazing. Saw Cacti color C8 that just saw a few days ago, then I looked at a C8 with the tan interior and imagined that interior in the Cacti green. I think it would look amazing.
E-Ray all the way! Just picked mine up! Love all the low end torque!! I don’t track my Vettes,so on the street,it’s all about the off the line torque!! AMAZING!! And AWD!!! Gitty up! Love it!😎
A true Supercar ...."see the USA in your Chevrolet"........the car looks SO good. Thanks Joe. PS: in 2023 Chevy produced 53,785 Corvettes, 2nd highest in Corvette history (1979 was #1) ...2024 should be the record breaker.
The AWD being able to put all the power down immediately is what wins me over on this one. It's nice to be able to brag about high hp, but when you can't put it down until the high gears without spinning, is a bummer.
Hey Joe! I love the AWD NSX/Audi vibes of this Eray! The ZO6 soundtrack is intoxicating from what I understand but it can get squirrelly on you and it’s not as easy as the Eray to consistently put the power down. A couple of Eray side benefits…no gas guzzler tax, carbon ceramic brakes standard, wet weather friendly, ZO6 bodywork/tires(color matched)and there are supercharger/twin turbo kits that are already in the mid 9 second range…on the all season tires!!! My dilemma is…is it worth the price of 3-4 50k vehicles(Type R,BRZ,Darkhorse, Elantra N,etc.). I understand it’s apples and oranges but that’s a lot of vehicles to purchase and drive the wheels off…as opposed to just one.
My '67 Corvette Stingray Coupe tri-power with lakers and spinners was stolen after only 4 months of ownership. Liberty Mutual sent the insurance check in 2 weeks. I found a Porsche with Italian tags and a metric dash. Never returned to the Bow Tie. Recently sold my 3rd Porsche with 154,000 miles on the odometer. This E-Ray has my attention. I like the hybrid idea and the AWD. Loved your video. Good job.
Joe the sound of the electric battery on acceleration and the LT2 go well together!!! It was a space-age sounding experience!!! Not sure that I want to spend $130K on an Eray after adding options. The catij color was unusual but actually looked good with the black trim. Great video brother!!!! I would definitely not get an NSX nor the 296 GTB. I like the look of the Ferrari but way too expensive!!!! Thanks for educating me on this Corvette. I have a Corvette and have always been a Porsche & Corvette guy. Cheers Joe‼️👍👊💪🇺🇸
The car is a peach. Styling is growing on me. By the way. Don't park your new Vette at Costco unless you like door dings. Those $1.50 Polish Dogs are tasty, but not that tasty. 😋☮️💙
Yes Joe thank you for showing the c8 corvette. The c8 corvette is my favorite corvette ever. Keep up the good work Joe great content on today review 👍🏾😀
Joe, you can't hide the fact that you had to drive on a road next to power lines, clearly indicating that this is required for the car to inductively pull electricity from those lines in order to move forward.
I love that color and your reviews are always entertaining! I wish they would take a little inspiration for the wing from like an 1990 NSX. The rear of the C8 just needs to be finished better. I feel like if the fenders formed the wing that it would be the proper look. Or like a Ford GT. Something cool back there.
Don't Forget The High Air Pressure Stabilizer/Traction System Integrated Into The Strut Mounts,And Or The Renault Fan Car Vacume System Integrated Into The Transmissions Rear Point .... Over All The E-Ray Is Awesome Man!!! LIDAR Computers System STINGRAY Diffuser And Rudder System (Actuated) .
This review is top-shelf as always. Absolutely love this car … prefer hybrid over EV most every time & it seems to work really well in this application.
My favorite part is when he’s ringing the car out and you see painted on the road slow… this would be the spec I would look for except the boomerang I want painted body panel and the front end left and I think I’d be quite happy and broke
Personally, I've grown tired of the carbon flash (black) accents on my C8 Stingray HTC in hypersonic gray. Glad I held out for one that had everything on the top body color (except the side mirrors). Right now, I'm taking everything that originally was carbon flash painted and instead painting it all hypersonic gray (body color). Everything that is except the side mirrors which are visually in line with the tinted side windows and therefore blend in and don't look like they're black accents. The Boomerangs. Body color. Custom carbon fiber low wing spoiler. Body color. Keeping the rear diffuser/lower bumper cover carbon fiber (not to be confused with carbon flash paint), though, as I already replaced the original carbon flash painted rear diffuser with a carbon fiber one. Then, and this is the primary reason I'm changing all the previously carbon flash painted accents to body color, I'm adding Lotus Evjia Fittiplaldi style pin stripes in bright yellow (rather than gold). In addition, the center caps for the black wheels will also be bright yellow, and the carbon fiber running boards that go under the side skirt area underneath each respective side of the car has a yellow edge. Inside, the steering wheel will have a bright yellow painted top stripe and then I'm changing the black seat belts to yellow. I have to get rid of all the carbon flash accents in advance of adding the pin stripes, otherwise the yellow pin stripes will look more busy than elegant. The brake calipers are black and I'm keeping them black.
I said months ago in one of your Camaro reviews that GM should have kept the Camaro alive and put this E-Ray pkge in it with a supercharged LT4 6.2L V8 .
You had such a good time in this car I think it's the one to get for best all around fun car being a convertible. It looks fantastic from every angle. Somehow it actually makes Cacti Green look good. The rear spoiler is perfect and really like the two tone upper and lower. A Hummer cost the same money. What to do what to do.
Saw 2 guys in an Eray do a 0to60 in 2.0 on youtube. It is an amazing car, that's for sure. I'm on a list, with my Chevy dealer, for one. The ZR1 will be crazy $$ and the Zora will be even more $$$. AND they 'throw in' the $9,500 Carbon Ceramic Brakes which I think makes the Eray a great purchase.
Got a call from the dealer last week. Got an allocation for a new 2025 Eray. Order has gone in. Car should be here in a month or 2. Cannot wait for this beauty to land.
I actually like the squared exhaust tips but I’ll be losing them soon for an aftermarket upgrade. And by the way, on ‘24 C8s, you can use a little force when closing the frunk (not slamming) and the soft close latch will close it automatically. Almost like the rear hatch but with some umph
This is THE Corvette, in my opinion. The AWD performance, the one of a kind sound coming from the V8 and the electric motor combined, the wide body stance from the Z06... what could be better?!
Joe, am I going crazy??? I am liking this Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray, for what it represents, more-so than the all new Lamborghini Temerario hybrid (which lacks the wow factor of a Lamborghini). Ever since seeing the Temerario I have been looking at E-Ray information and reviews (you are number one). The looks of the E-Ray is actually more cohesive than the Temerario. Regarding the power plant, the E-Ray is a naturally aspirated V8 and it sounds awesome. Listening to the Temerario with it's twin-turbo V8 is like seeing of a pack of wolves going meowed, the sound is woeful. The E-Ray electrical system is more basic than the Temerario, but in a good way. The E-Ray is a simplified V8 Hybrid that does a superb job, and it's quoted acceleration 0 to 60mph in 2.5 sec (maybe 2.6 sec to 100km/hr) is surprisingly better than the Temerario's 2.7 second. There is no doubt that the Temerario is overall the superior super-car, but the E-Ray probably is 93.7% of what the Temerario can achieve for far lesser money. Those who have bought the E-Ray are on a very good thing. I would rather the E-Ray than the Temerario. Cheers. :) So sad that the Huracan V10 is now gone, RIP. The Huracan was a revelation, a bolt of lightning, the Temerario is a state of confusion.
@@jamesh1641 Manufacturers lately: "You can have the car in black, white, or if you want the 'performance package' you can get it in gray with blacked out wheels!"

Great review, interesting way to keep performance while keeping the government happy and no gas guzzler tax. Classy fast looks without looking too boy-Racer . Cool sound I’d have to get a neon blue wrap , underglow and play TRON.😄 That color makes me think of “My doctor says Mylanta.” About time you can see the engine on a convertible. That last design should have never been approved! I’m sure it’s a blast to drive but for that money I’d probably go Lotus Emira or C7 Zo6 . I just like simpler more engaging cars and just gotta have a manual transmission even if it’s slower, it’s more fun!
