Just bought one and absolutely love it! The interior is insane and makes you feel like you’re in a spaceship 🚀 the Escalade V uses a lot more fuel and has a little bit cheaper and more plastic interior than the GLS 63. we tested both to compare. The mild hybrid twin turbo V8 is an amazing engine 💯💪
I bought a GLS63 about 8 months ago, and couldn't agree more, it's better than the caddy in every meaningful way and the only people that think otherwise are the cadillac d**k riders.
@@corylazart2407 congratulations it really is an amazing machine and the best mix between luxury, sport and everyday practicality. I do love the way the Escalades look and sound but the interior just isn’t as nice as the AMG and with the NA V8 you’re definitely spending a lot more on gas ⛽️
Had one and loved it except one thing. Mercedes always has a staggard tire set up. After about 8-9k tires pretty much done. Ride becomes rough and tires (only a couple of manufacturers) are about 3k. Just a lot to spend on tires when you're driving about 15-20k per year. Other than that, it was a great vehicle with no problems. Premium gas required.
I love how the screen does not stick up like a sore thumb. The screen colors are rich, and the interior colors are great! You must have ventilated seats, though, in a car this upscale!
It’s a beast of an SUV! I’ve driven a lot of these GLS 63s and the V8 engine, performance exhaust and tech are remarkable despite it’s size. You’ll need a larger garage to fit this SUV.
Joe, just a hunch on my part, but I wonder if the slightly smaller size of the full-size Mercedes SUV is due, in part, to the narrow European roads, apart from the autobahn. While this AMG is awesome on many levels, it still can't hold a candle to the even more awesome Escalade V. I just feel you get much more bang for the buck with the Escalade. That's my rationale and I'm stickin' to it.
This AMG should only come in the night package (no shiny exterior chrome trim). And should include ventilated seats for the second row, and power shades for windows. Did this model have soft close doors? Amazing car though. Great review, Joe!
Anyway possible to put the rear 385 rear wheel to the front to make it sit squared instead of staggered? I like the look of the Mercedes 2021 GLS 580 twin 5 spoke aluminum alloy wheels better
Caddy V for the win .. yeah the Benz is a symbol of money.. if u got it and addicted to that lifestyle then do what u do.. yolo (you only live once).. if u got a lil money to play with get the Caddy V...if u wanna save dollars & make sense...can still be saucy n bossy ..flossin in the Caddy V....summers coming time to stunt / get yo shine on
I bought a 2024 AMG GKS 63, I love it. I had a AMG GLE 63 before this car, I like the handling of the GLE better, but to have the extra room for someone in the second seat is very nice with the larger car. As nice as the Cad is it’s not the quality of the AMG.
I agree 100% about the running boards. Would be much nicer if there were automatic and hidden like the Escalade V. I also wish this GLS had Escalade features like approach lighting, digital rear view mirror or the cool box in the center console. The optional upgraded Burmester 3D audio with 25 speakers in this GLS should be standard for the price.
This AMG GLS 63 looks so sexy! I have no zonks whatsoever about this or really any Mercedes vehicle. This and the Escalade V are both amazing that's the thing.
Performance wise, Compare to x7 50i/60i , how you feel about the response and which one less turbo lag when you floored it on throttle while driving/rolling start ? Thank you!
I'd rather have the Escalade-V. That LT4 is bulletproof. Modern Benzes have really questionable long-term reliability. There is a reason why people lease these.
Looking at the interior, it is super nice. In the past, Mercedes and BMW were leagues ahead from the non luxury brands. Today, I find the differences are less pronounced.
Joe I feel like you kinda forgot about bmw, there’s a bmw x5 refresh for 2024, bmw 7 series 2024, bmw 5 series, and I see other RU-vidr do reviews on these bmws I just mentioned but I’m interested in your reviews because no other RU-vid channels does it better than Raiti’s ride.
I have the new GLE 63 S Coupe, same engine tuned to 750hp. Same luxury, less weight, same sound, fast as fuck… just a tad smaller than the GLS.. so best of both worlds.
Great review Joe! But, you should compare this vehicle with the 2024 BMW X7 M60i, which has the actual S-68 M engine or Alpina. I don't think Mercedes is comparing itself with Cadillac. Mercedes is in competition with BMW. Now, Cadillac is trying to be Mercedes and BMW.
The performance on this is insane, but the cost of ownership looks so bad, no matter how much money you make. The X167 GLS63 looked so much better on the outside. I hope MB can return to the boxy designs from the mid-2010s.
I would go with the Mercedes without a second thought. It may cost you a few more bucks than the Cadillac but the resale valuse on this would be much more. Cadillac's history is filled with too many quality issues.
The AMG GLS 63 is nice enough but I would take the 2024 Cadillac Escalade V, it is the true big family hauler between the two and it is several inches longer and also taller and wider and gives both the seating room and cargo capacity for a family with luggage. The Cadillac weighs more but is larger in size with more interior room but it also can have Super Cruise for those long vacation drives with the family that AMC does not have. I also prefer the Cadillac Excalade V's 6.2L's use of a supercharger over the AMG's twin turbochargers. The two areas where the AMG GLS 63 wins in this fight is slightly better gas mileage and acceleration because its smaller and lighter in weight.
I truly believe you need to be able to service or maintain a vehicle at least in a way other than changing to a spare tire. Before you can review a vehicle as cars become like consumer electronic devices your not able to perform basic maintenance
$150,000 for a MB MINI van? No thanks. Way better looking cars you can purchase for this much money. This car depreciates in value like no other, over %70 in 3-4 years. Endless electrical issues due to over engineering, and No one should need the cramped third row. This ain’t no school bus. Have less kids and get the two-row cars. These 3-row cars look like a fancy mini van.
I honestly can't believe that Hostess hasn't reached out for a 'Twinkie' brand deal. lol That would be cool to see you open a compartment and see a bunch of Twinkies. At least for a gag.
This could fit in the back of my tahoe. How is it a full size. It's clearly a midsize. Come on dude the Cadillac weighs more? Yeah it's twice as big. Compare this to a Cayan or RR sport. This is not apples to apples with a true full size SUV. And for the record it looks like a soccer mom car.
