(Edit) I get it, Google built in pretty much “replaces” apple carplay and android auto, but at least make them standard along with Google, so people have more to choose from if they for whatever reason don’t like using Google
No way they’ll have a better UI than what google and Apple have created. They should focus on finding ways to keep their cars from being so easy to be stolen.
So, this is Android Automotive, which is technically better than Android Auto. Essentially the car itself runs Android that is controlled by Google and not Cadillac. Well, kinda, same as Samsung runs Android, but obviously their own thing. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto just use screen mirroring from a smartphone, this has really good hardware, and runs Android natively. The car itself, without a smartphone even in it. It is more akin to the not released yet, CarPlay 2. This allows the Android OS to actually control things in your car like the climate controls, battery, or cruise control. The problem with Android Automotive, AND Apple CarPlay 2, is that they are going to be one or the other. You HAVE to buy the car that has the one you want.
