I cannot agree more. Even worse up here in Joburg where the altitude robs 18% of your power. In the 2 door loaded up for a trip to the Kruger for 2 people you have to resign yourself to 100km/h and that's it. But hey I love it ❤️
I love Suzuki and i adore your reviews - the perfect combination! We don't get the Jimny 5 door in the UK, so I have an S-Cross. Hopefully they'll put the 1.4 Boosterjet in the front and that'll sort the low power and emissions problems.
I saw quite a few of them on the roads slready in Gauteng. It looks even better than the 2 door. They seem to keep well up with the traffic. It is not as slow as you make it out to be
Hello Juliet, I ´m in Chile and I ´m buying the manual version…I am not totally bought on the manual version…can you tell me if the manual is better or if the At should be better? Which one is better on road? Big hug!
Hey Jules! I'm one of the original subscribers and always enjoy your honest reviews. Naturally, i have my disagreements with you on certain issues. For instance, i think sunroofs are absolutely awesome. 😃 But I'm seriously concerned about your health, Jules. Like, for real for real. Your videos are about 7 minutes on average. It always amazes me that in just that amount of talk time, you almost always encounter a bad driver or motorcyclist. I know they have the mountain and the wine there, but clearly Cape Town is bad for your on-road well-being, Jules. Come join us here in Joburg. We have loadshedding, watershedding, etolls, potholes, a handful of bad drivers (I estimate about 70 in total. Half of whom are visiting Capetonians, 20 are gun toting KZNians, 5 are Polo drivers from Gqeberha, 1 from Bloem, 2 are of undetermined origin. The rest are, sadly, Gautengers from PTA, Brakpan, Soweto and Glenhazel) and guys with who rob people on the highway with automatic rifles... But other than that, it's great up here, Jules. Pack up the family before these terrible Cape Town drivers give you a heart-attack! ❤️
Excellent review. If you want the best of both worlds perhaps get a Renault Duster 4wd version. Make sure it's under warranty though. The Renault can easily do 90% of SA 4x4 tracks yet so nice on the road and even better fuel economy and of ofcourse more space. Thank you for the honest reviews and telling it like it is.
I am using this car in india.... You got to drive it to fully understand its practicality.... On paper yeah the engine is underpowered but the way its mated to the 4 speed AT(yeah 6 speed could be awesome) its very adequate for our broken rural and rurban(rural+urban) roads.... I am getting 15kpl on highways at 80kph and 13kpl at 100kph....
Interesting question. I think normal dirt roads etc like Kruger park routes probably yes but actual 4x4 tracks no. If you have a tracker installed they would probably pick it up otherwise gonna assume it's these horrible potholes and other stuff.
@cindyjoshua7367 if you buy a Jimny it can do proper 4x4 trails, for example the Namaqualand Eco Trail. Insurers should be clear on certain vehicles that they may not cover certain use that the vehicle is actually capable of.
That engine! It's not only this car. I tested a Grand Vitara a while back, and ... great car. But the engine just killed it dead. It was powerless to the point of actually being dangerous. And yes, it's a reliable unit and it's so mass produced that it costs virtually nothing, but what's the point putting it into cars where it's totally impractical. No thanks.
AWESOME REVIEW & WELL DONE 🤗👍👌✨ LOVE this car ! 100% Aggree ! Engine WAY TOO SMALL 🙄! (Tip, so please don't shout at me 🤣: Trim off the "like" from your review 😮 "Like" 3 times in every sentence sounds like a naughty American 8 year old 😵😬😅 !) Best 😎🤗👉👍👌✨
If Suzuki paired this with their 2.4litre power train in auto or 6speed manual it would be the best version. Fuel consumption won’t be much different and cruising and offroad ability will be improved massively that 1.5 is too weak to load up and go climb a mountain without revving it to bits.
I like it with this engine, I wouldn't buy it with the 2.4 engine. They have a turbo kit for brave people like yourself, who are not scared to fly this little toy.
@@josh3221ifygenerally speaking across all the comments most folks agree the 1.5 is gutless. Maybe because many of us who venture offroad often use turbo diesels we prefer having ample backup torque to tackle obstacles easily and then tow a trailer as well. I drive on dirt daily and wouldn’t go for this car with this engine at altitude. Great car, needs stronger engine. Like J says, not the car you want to cross country to your destination but use when you get there. But each to their own, I know what I need and that’s 400nm of torque for me as I need that daily.
Just do the review already ! , every sentence is (like ) like , like , like , like , can you actually put a sentence together like !!!!! Without like in it don’t know even employed you like !!!!.
